March 17th may have been St Patrick's day for some of you, but if you are after something else to celebrate, then why not Pattie's day! That's right, Pattie Boyd, the lovely 60's dollybird also celebrates her birthday on the 17th of March. As her mother had assumed she would be a boy, a name was never picked for her, so being born on the day of a saint was an easy pick! Pattie is a favourite of mine. I even made a suit in her name and managed to remember her birthday! For the unfamiliar, Pattie Boyd was a 60s model, muse and all 'round sweet girl. Known mostly for her marriage to George Harrison and later to Eric Clapton, Pattie has also made a name for herself in recent years as a photographer and has held exhibitions of her old and new photos around the world Pattie had met George on the set of A hard days night and inspired him to write the love song 'Something'. They separated in 1974 and divorced in 1977 For many years she had also rebuffed the affections of Eric Clapton who wrote 'Layla' in her honour. They eventually married in 1979 but divorced in 1988. While she may be most famous for the men she married, she was also a striking beauty modelling for Vogue, Mary Quant, Foale and Tuffin and countless advertisements in the 60s and also modelled for Ossie Clark in the early 70s As a model, Pattie was already some what well known, and she was lucky enough to score a one-line role in The Beatles film 'A hard days night.'
