Conques is a UNESCO World heritage Site and on the list of the "Most beautiful villages in France". It is only 30km east of Figeac but quite different in terms of building materials and architectural style. Its location on the edge of the Dourdou gorge is stunning. The village retains parts of the old town wall and gates. The narrow cobbled streets are lined by well preserved houses. The main attraction is the 10th century Abbaye Sainte Foy, which made it an important stopping point on the pilgrims route to Santiago di Compostello.

Eguisheim (German: Egisheim) is a village in the Haut-Rhin département of Alsace, France, notable for, and largely devoted to, producing Alsace wine of high quality. Eguisheim lies a few kilometers south of Colmar. With its cobbled winding streets and its flower-decked traditional medieval half-timbered houses, Eguisheim is one of Alsace's most attractive villages. Who could fail to fall under the spell of this charming village, in which time almost seems to have stood still. The town is particularly known for its round layout, following the former lines of its ramparts. When strolling through its streets, visitors often stop to admire the many houses dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, some of which have magnificent courtyards. In the main square, a statue of Pope Leo IX reminds us that Alsace's only Pope originated from this village (born: June 21, 1002). The commune is largely German-speaking. ________________________________________________________________________________ All rights reserved. Copyright © Martien Uiterweerd. I have no idea where in France this picture was taken. It sure felt familiar, owing to the fact it reminded me so much of one of Rik Pierce's dollhouses. I sure would love to make it. Though not for my collection, it would be too small. I just think it would be a lot of fun. I even like the color of the green trim. Surely there can't be two doors side by side... Can there? Don't you wonder what is around that bend. I want to see the rest of it! Thank you to Jean-Claude for providing a link in the comments section. It is always nice to give photographers credit for their work. Plus there are more wonderful photos. https://michaelevansphotographerblog.com/2013/07/29/delightful-dinan/

Some photos draw you in and don’t want to let you go, so you spend entire minutes (that feel like small eternities) sitting transfixed, with your eyes on the screen. That’s exactly the feeling we get when we look at the pics featured on this subreddit that’s entirely dedicated to showing off the beauty of infrastructure. After all, (and let’s be cheesy here for a moment) infrastructure doesn’t just connect us together physically—it also connects our hearts through the mutual adoration of aesthetics.
