This was one of those labors of love. I found this amazing antique organ from the late 1800's and knew it needed to be revived. You rarely see wood work like this anymore. Check out those Griffins! So majestic! It had definitely seen better days and it wasn't going to play again. But I knew I could give it a new life. I converted it to a bar with hidden compartments behind the sheet holder, behind foot pedal door and back opens for stashing your hooch. I couldn't help but think about what this organ had seen in it's previous life. The carpet on the foot petals had holes worn in it and the wood had at least half an inch divot past that. Here's to another 100+ years of entertaining friends and family!! Painted with Paint Couture custom color Squid Ink and Deep Lake. Sealed with Satin finish. Redesign with Prima products used Sweet Dream transfer, Dark Floral transfer, Skull Chinoiserie decoupage paper and Cosmic Ray Gold Gliding wax on EVERY detail. Epoxy Resin top done with Promarine Crystal Clear Table Top. Multiple layers mixed with Paint Couture paint and mica powders. New antique looking ball wheels added for easy moving. Had to add battery operated flame-less candles for some ambiance up top. Inside there are two rechargeable led lights to show off the resin and to give it a glow. Height - 71 in Width - 46 in Depth - 23 in * Most of our pieces are revived from previously owned furniture. We do repairs to make sure each piece is functional, there may be cosmetic characteristics due to age. Local pickup available. Located in Richmond, Tx. Free shipping for lower 48 states. About This monumental Berlin Biedermeier Secretaire is one of the finest examples with its Classical Architecture of Doric Pediments, Columns, and Dental Moldings. The main structure of the Secretaire has a majestic architectural superstructural cabinet resting on top, representing a temple. The Biedermeier Abbatant is veneered in Birchroot with a fall front writing desk hiding a fitted interior with drawers, columns, a cabinet and writing slide in the form of a temple. Above the fall front writing desk is a hidden drawer in the shape of a Doric Pediment that is released by moving one of the Dentil Moldings.

I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have! *************** I started posting images from Ackermann's Repository on my blog back at the end of June 2011 and have been blogging about them for over 6 months. It's kind of sad for me to wrap up the series after putting so much time and effort into it but alas my muse is calling me in other directions. I'm sure I'll revisit items from Ackermann's every once and a while just for the grins and giggles of it; but I hope you keep checking back just to see what other fun things has caught my fancy. I was able to do this series thanks to the archive of Ackermann's Repository volumes from the Library of Philadelphia Museum of Art that are available online at www.archive.org (a wonderful resource of amazing vintage images and books). If you have enjoyed seeing these images from Ackermann's Repository and would like the opportunity to see and read an original for yourself they are are available at www.archive.org Click HERE then choose the volume you are interested in. You can then see and read them online or download them to your computer for future reference. Enjoy! Till Next time...
About Wearing a layer of Austrian walnut root veneer, this secrétaire has a unique grain that one does not often see; it swirls and undulates across the surface drawing the eye along in a mesmerizing dance. And that’s just the beginning! A geometric inlay frames the door and each drawer. Inside is equally as impressive with its arrangement drawers and cupboards, and it's use of contrasting veneer and inlays. Seldom have we seen such impressive use of burled grain.
