Hello and welcome I am Karen Farquhar from Australia and thank you for joining me today for Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge #054. Today's challenge is a Die Cutting challenge. Well die cutting isn't really a challenge for me as I die cut on most of my work. I just love die cutting so my challenge was to do something I thought would be a little different. For this reason I have designed some shaker gift tags using the Snow Scenes Dies, the Frosted Frames Dies, the the Stitched Rectangle Dies and the Delightful Tag Topper Punch. To make these I cut 2 pieces of Whisper White Cardstock for each tag at 5cm width and then punched their tops with the Tag Topper Punch. I then ran my 2 strips of cardstock through my die cutting machine using a Stitched Rectangle Die. I sandwiched two pieces of Window Sheet together with my Snow Scenes images, Ice Stampin' Glitter and Snowflake Sequins in-between and then adhered all layers together using Tear and Tape along the edges. A tie of the gorgeous Seaside Spray 1/4" Metallic Ribbon completes the tag. I have also created a boy and girl Baby's First Christmas card set with the Still Scenes Bundle but substituted the the rocking teddy from the Hoot Hoot Hooray Stamp Set. I sponged a piece of Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper with Blushing Bride for girls and Balmy Blue for boys ink to give me a blue and pink background. The teddy bears are coloured with blends. Thank you for visiting me today. Please, you are more than welcome to enter your projects for the Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges here. We really would love to see your creations. Note we need your projects submitted by 10am. (UK time) Sunday. Also pop over for a visit to see the projects of other talented stampers. With Christmas only days away, it's time to think about our packaging and this week over at Just Add Ink Jan has challenged us to "Add Tags"...perfect timing for gift giving! I revisited a couple of my Christmas bundles for these, Merriest Wishes & Pretty Pines and decided to go all girly with my colours using Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz, white & Gold accents. It was nice to step away from my Mint Macaron obsession and makes some pretties with other colours! Don't forget to stop by the challenge blog and check out the fab tag ideas from the rest of the design team. Thanks for stopping by! All supplies used are Stampin Up! Unless noted.

Do you like gift tags? I love them. Big or small, simple or elaborately even overly decorated… Actually there is no such thing as an “overly decorated gift tag”. It is amazing how, in so little space, you can create and say so many “words”. The best thing with gift tags is that you can use even the smallest pieces of paper in your craft collection. I started doing exactly this in the process of creating my huge paper… um… carefully chosen selection of lovely, beautiful pieces, which I didn’t want to use, because of their beauty. If you read…
There are so many fun ways to wrap your gifts this holiday. I prefer the neutral tones and the natural textures when wrapping with fun gift tags or natural leaves and pine as the finishing touch. As you can see in my video in yesterdays post, not only do little gift boxes look great under the tree t

Hi Everyone, Today I am taking part in the InspireINK Blog Hop and the theme is '3D project', so I have made a set of 6 luxury gift tags in Night of Navy and Very Vanilla with pops of copper foil from the Brightly Gleaming designer series paper and a pretty box to put them in. I hope that you like my project and don't forget to hop over and see what my crafty colleagues have made too. Materials 1 piece of night of navy card stock 7" x 4 1/2" and 1 piece 7 1/16" x 4 9/16" for the box 6 pieces of 2" x 4" night of navy card stock 6 pieces of 2" x 4" very vanilla card stock, 6 pieces of 1 7/8" x 2 1/2", 1 piece 4 7/8" x 2 3/8" Scraps of very vanilla for the bows 6 pieces of Brightly Gleaming dsp 3" x 1 7/8" 6 pieces of ribbon approx 6" long Night of navy ink Gift Wrapped stamp set Bow Builder punch Delightful Tag Topper punch Detailed Trio punch 1" circle punch Trimmer Paper snips Simply scored Bone folder Dimensionals Multipurpose adhesive Instructions Score both large pieces of night of navy card stock at 1" on all 4 sides and fold and burnish to score lines. Cut up the score line and make tabs at each corner as shown in the picture. On of the pieces in slightly larger than the other and this is the lid. Repeat on the piece for the lid and punch out a half circle in the centre on each of the long sides to help to take the lid off the box. Put adhesive on each of the tabs and fold to the inside of the box making sure that the fold meets the cut edge to make a nice neat finish on the box. It helps when you do the lid if you fit it to the box and then fold the tabs in, this makes for a perfect fit around the base. For each tag you need to punch one end of both the navy and the very vanilla layer with the delightful tag topper punch. Round the corners of the opposite ends with the detailed trio punch. Round off the bottom corners on the dsp and then adhere it to the navy tag leaving a small border on the bottom and two sides (see pictures). Round off all four corners of the small piece of very vanilla and adhere it to the back of the night of navy layer to write your message. Stamp a bow on a scrap of very vanilla using the night of navy ink and then punch out with the bow builder punch. Place this on one of the very vanilla tags while you stamp the sentiment and the stars so you can judge where to do your stamping. Add dimensionals to the bag of the bow and add to the very vanilla tag. Thread a navy and a vanilla tag together with a piece of coordinating ribbon (this one is from my stash but you could use any ribbon or twine that you have to match). Repeat for the other 5 tags. Stamp on the remaining piece of very vanilla which will decorate the top of the box, stamp and punch out another bow to fix to this. Adhere this layer to the centre of the lid and your box of luxury tags is complete. I hope that you like this project and will give it a try. I had the pleasure of attending another baby shower this weekend. I am in love with wrapping in craft paper and using the bows, ribbons and tags to express the occasion. This way I do not have to invest in a new roll of wrapping paper for each occasion. I have an incredible stash of ribbons and trims left over from various projects or inherited from my mother. So I wrapped these two gifts up in brown craft paper and then went digging in my drawer for appropriate trims. For the square package I used a ruffled gingham trim and rolled it around for a flower effect and basted the back of the circular layers to hold it together. I used a white paper doily first, then the pink grosgrain ribbon, then glued the rolled ruffled flower on top. I love making Gift Tags! They are quick and cute! I used my Cricut to cut two tags from the Plantin SchoolBook cartridge. I cut a 3" white and a 2 1/2" brown craft paper colored card stock. Using a small piece of the doily, I wrapped the corner of the brown tag before I glued it to the white tag for neat edges. I then used a couple of buttons and ribbon roses to made a little cluster of cuteness in the corner. For the second gift I started with the same pink grosgrain ribbon, I added some white cluny trim to each side of the ribbon, then so that it would coordinate with the other package I put a strip of gingham ribbon down the center. I glued all of these ribbons on with a bottle of plain craft glue - it all held together nicely. I made the bow from the pink grosgrain with a new tool that my girlfriend Alicia, from AliciaDelano Designs, gave me! I love this little tool - It is called the Bow Easy. Here is a great link that shows how to use the Bow Easy and where to buy it - No Time to Stamp? Box and Bow Tutorial. Again, I added a tag using bakers twine, white and pink gingham card stock and the same technique with the doily and cluster in the corner, but giving it a slightly different look. Did you guess that this baby was going to be a girl?!? The parents-to-be have not chosen a name yet, so I could not personalize the gifts. Therefore, I wrote on the back of the tags, hoping that they could use the front of the tags for their scrapbook in the future. Thanks for stopping by!
