Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop for April! Each month a group of creative friends create a project for a theme. Below is an image of all of the crew and where they are from around the globe. Such a talented, friendly and wonderful group of people. Last month I attended OnStage a Stampin' Up!® Event held in Melbourne. I loved catching up with a few of the Around the World on Wednesday Team Members whilst there. Below is a picture of Melissa Gifford, Cheryll Miller, Rochelle Laird-Smith and myself. These beautiful ladies are so talented and I love that we know each other through this amazing design team. This year is going so quick! I can't believe we are in April already. The weather here in Australia finally cooling. We had a severe rainfall here last weekend and there were many roads cut by flooding or small landslides on the mountains that border my home town. It was the perfect opportunity to spend some time in the craft room being creative with my dog at my feet "helping". This months challenge, This or That, had me thinking for a while. I felt I should create a simple card and then step it up, but then, I decided to make two cards with a similar layout and the same products. I chose to create my cards using new product that I chose to purchase for OnStage in Melbourne for the After Hours classes. Something new and so much fun to attend on top of the OnStage Event. The new bundle I chose is the Spotlight on Nature Bundle. The delicate images and gorgeous Dies won me over instantly. These cards are something that I imagined creating with the Bundle as soon as I saw it. Soft colours and the divine die cut circles at the centre of my card. For my first card I decided to layer the beautiful circle die cuts and sit the fussy cut stamped and coloured images on top. The circle dies are adhered together with Dimensionals and I also used Dimensionals to add to the mat layer. I have stamped the two fussy cut images in the new Basic Beige ink before colouring in with Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends. For the background layer I stamped the Sketched Plaid stamp in Basic White ink on Soft Sea Foam card stock and glued that to a mat layer before adhering to the Soft Sea Foam card base. I placed three of the Petal Pink Foiled Gems around the die cut pieces on the circle diecut. On a piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock I stamped the sentient in Soft Sea Foam ink before cutting it out with paper snips. I tied some Linen Thread in a bow and adhered it to the bottom of the sentiment piece before adhering the sentiment with Dimensionals. For my second card I wanted to use the beautiful new neutral Basic Beige for my card base. I felt it would go well with the softness of Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam. I decided to make a simpler and quicker version of the card above. The Sketched Plaid stamp was inked in Basic Beige and stamped on a Basic Beige mat layer. Then glued to the card base. I stamped the floral image on a piece of basic white card stock in Basic Beige ink before die cutting it with a circle die and colouring with Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends. I stamped the sentiment in Soft Sea Foam ink on the top right hand side of the floral image. I adhered three of the Petal Pink Foiled Gems around the stamped images. Before adhering to the card base using Dimensionals I cut a 10cm length of the new Petal Pink Diagonal Trim and adhered it to the centre of the card front underneath where the circle die layer went. Up next on this months hop is the wonderfully talented Rochelle Laird- Smith. Click on the next blog button below to head to her post. Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is a neutral palette; whites, grays, ivorys, browns or black. I chose browns for this card - Basic Beige and Early Espresso. The floral image was stamped in Early Espresso on Basic Beige cardstock and "colored" with Clear Wink of Stella. The W.O.S. picked up the ink from the stamped image like using a Water Painter, adding subtle shimmer, as well. I love the circle dies in the Spotlight on Nature bundle! I think they're going to be used a lot in the near future. That's all for today - see you next Saturday! Up next is Libby Fens at Libby Stamps. Or click the "back" button to go back to Lori at Loritamarie Crafts. Hello and welcome to my blog. This is my card to entry to Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights for October 2023 - the theme is Thank you. The Magical Meadow bundle has images of some beautiful foliage, and the coordinating dies are fabulous. Limiting myself to a small selection of colours (taken directly from the matching Designer Series Paper), I stamped and die cut a pile of images to create with. I used a couple of Stampin' Write Markers to colour the spray of foliage which creates the background - the Blueberry Bushel berries really pop against the Garden Green foliage and then I added a sprig or two stamped in Pretty Peacock before embossing the white layer using the Exposed Brick folder. Next, I added a selection of foliage using Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Smoky Slate and Vellum cardstocks to form a pretty array. I liberally applied Wink of Stella to the leaves to add sheen and shimmer! I have also added a twist of silver ribbon beneath the label and a trio of Glitter Sequins to complete the arrangement. For further texture and interest the arrangement is framed using a die-cut panel from the Scalloped Contours set and another embossed layer, this time using one of the Basics folders from the Online Exclusive range. This little card reminds me of pretty cottage gardens - oh how I wish I could achieve that in my garden! As mentioned at the beginning I am entering Kylie's International Blog Highlights and you can follow the link to the gallery where you will find heaps more inspiration AND you can vote for your favourite five projects. At the end of the voting the Top Ten winners will be invited to take part in a blog hop at the end of the month. I would love to take part in the hop, so I would really appreciate your help. Hello and welcome my friends, My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you the first colour for Colour Creations blog hop and it's Week 1 with the Art With Heart Team in Australia. It's been a while since my last Colour Creation and I'm so excited to be back here again. The first colour is Peach Pie which is part of the In Color Collection for 2024 - 2026 Stampin' Up! sure know how to create some beautiful new colors for us to play with and they are here with us for the next two years. Now that's exciting! All of the new In Colors come in a range of Stampin' Up! products such as ink, cardstock, ribbon, designer series paper, embellishments, Stampin' Blends and so on. New colours means new Stampin' Up! products to try out from the new Stampin' Up! 2024 -2025 Annual Catalogue and I'll be showing you the Country Flowers bundle (163411) which is part of the Country Woods Suite Collection and you can find it on pages 48 to 51 in the catalogue. Country Flowers bundle (163411) The Country Flowers bundle includes the Country Flowers stamp set and Country Flowers dies. I've been using this bundle now for a couple of my projects and I love it! The stamp images of bunches of flowers, cute flowerpots and a variety of different sentiments for your card making and paper craft. I stamped the images using Basic Gray ink onto Basic White cardstock and coloured in the images using Stampin' Blends in Peach Pie, Smoky Slate and Lost Lagoon. I like to leave white space to create depth when colouring in the images. I also added detailed die-cut images to the background of the coloured in flowers and a couple of fallen leaves to add interest. I wanted to add Peach Pie Glimmer Paper which is from the 2024-26 In Color Glimmer 12" x 12" Specialty Paper (163771) to my card, so I used the scissors die image from the Crafting With You Dies (161225) for some detailed bling! I thought this was lots of fun to my card. To create the sentiment, I actually combined two words together from two different sentiments and stamped them in Basic Gray ink onto Peach Pie paper from the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper (163372). I also used this same Peach Pie paper and layered it under the embossed Basic White cardstock. Then I die-cut out using one of the smaller circular dies from the Spotlight on Nature Dies (163580). To finish off the card I created a cute bow using Peach Pie Bordered Ribbon (163783) by pulling away fine strands from the ribbon and tying it into a delicate bow. Thank you for visiting my blog today, I would so love to hear your thoughts on my project by leaving a comment below. Now for the next blog please visit the very talented Sharon Davern click on the link below. Demonstrators Sharon Armstrong, Jackie Bolhuis, Connie Stewart & Brandy Cox. This is the first year that I completed all the Pre-Retreat Challenges AND all 8 Challenges as well! And it was so fun to be able to accomplish all the challenges! So, you will be seeing all my projects in the next week or so. I can't wait to share all the fun... and in no particular order. My next project was created for Jackie's Project 1 - a slimline card. How long has it been since you created a slimline card? Don't have the envelopes? A regular/business size envelope works just fine. And, if you want to create your own, I got you covered, using cardstock or DSP! A template is included in my tutorial at the end of this post. I created my slimline "Birthday" fun fold card using the Stampin' Up! Translucent Florals & Cheerful Daisies Stamp Sets, Stylish Shapes Dies and Delightful Floral DSP. For my card base I used Pretty Peacock cardstock. The flowers were fussy cut from the DSP. A smaller flower was added just behind the fold of the card for a little more color. The front panel of the fun fold is a layer of Lost Lagoon cardstock with a layer of Delightful Floral DSP which was embossed using the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder. Lost Lagoon Bordered Ribbon was looped into a bow and adhered behind the fussy cut cluster of beautiful flowers and adhered to the card front with dimensionals. The sentiment is from the Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set, stamped using Pretty Peacock ink and die cut with Stylish Shapes Dies and adhered with dimensionals. The embellishments are Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio. This is the card opened up. Inside the card, in the upper corner, I stamped the flower using Berry Burst ink, the leaves using Parakeet Party ink and the cluster of flower buds/branches/twigs (I'm not sure what to call these), but they were stamped using Pretty Peacock ink. In the lower corner, I stamped the buds and leaves. Here is the envelope I made using Lost Lagoon cardstock, but DSP would work as well. I stamped the flowers and leaves in the lower corner and added DSP on the envelope flap. On the inside flap of the opening of the envelope I added a strip of Tear and Tape, leaving the backing on it until it's ready to seal.
