1964 Daimler CVG6 Alexander H37/29F New to Aberdeen Corporation Working as I did for a company that served the oil and gas industries it was inevitable that during the seventies and eighties I would be finding myself in Aberdeen regularly. My first few visits were in connection with jobs on offshore installations so my time on the ground was minimal, although I did catch glimpses of Grampian's neat-looking Daimler CVG's making their way around the city. Finally an appointment came up that allowed me some time to escape and get some photographs, but to my chagrin the CVG's had just been displaced by the latest intake of new vehicles. Even more annoying, when I returned some time later (without camera) I was walking down Union Street and CVG's kept passing me. Apparently some major defect in the new buses had necessitated their withdrawal for modification and the CVG's had been extracted from wherever they had been tucked away to maintain the services. So on my next visit my camera accompanied me again, but once again I was too late and the CVG's were back off the road. At least I did manage to track down this group of six still looking reasonably respectable in the garage yard. All part of the fun of being a bus spotter, I suppose.
