@Fenyce, dayMdel - Thank you! Really appreciate it!
Karabor and Shattrath: While paired up with another dungeon artist, I worked on textures for the Draenei art kit and modeled and textured the archway.
Hey guys!
Project Dragon was a multiplayer sandbox action-adventure, something in between Minecraft and Breath of the Wild, It was full wonderful and whimsical art. As a Senior Environment/Props artist My role was to craft all sort of props and voxel materials. The team was working hard to bring the best stylized world possible with the support of Airborn Studios. --- Environment/3D Art Team: https://www.artstation.com/orb https://www.artstation.com/mynamesbryan https://www.artstation.com/andyh https://www.artstation.com/airbornstudios --- Concept Art Team: https://www.artstation.com/happyrock https://www.artstation.com/catell-ruz https://www.artstation.com/leehez https://www.artstation.com/airbornstudios --- Art Direction: Josh Nadelberg

This is a clear example of how the process of laying out UVs can create issues of distortion. See how the checker pattern gets larger in convex areas such as the nose, lips, and chin. This is common problem when using "relaxing" tools; a quick fix is to proportionally scale such areas and then relax again.

I taught a class with CGMA and this was a large part of the content. We covered the creation of a digital double from reference imagery. I decided to do a self portrait as the demonstration. It was a fun exercise in modeling and sculpting. I shot all of the photographic reference for the modeling portion and then shot a second round of reference with a cross polarized light setup to be used for texture painting. The eyes are from my Gumroad Tutorial for those interested - https://gumroad.com/l/IbsQy Sculpted in Mudbox, high frequency bump painting in mudbox as well. Texture painting was in Mudbox and I used ZBrush fibermesh for hair. Final rendering was done with Marmoset Toolbag 2. I post processed it with Photoshop and Lightroom.
Scratchboard artist Cathy Sheeter talks about her techniques and tools and shows you how to draw the different types of fur for a wolf, a mountain lion, and a bear.
Playing around with photogrammetry this days. This material is 4x4 meters 4K texture tile. Added water just for render purpose using Megascans Studio and it`s basic water material. Rendered in Marmoset. More materials and props from this ecosystem pack are coming soon.
Phillip Stoltz shared his workflow and showed how he builds and paints his beautiful stylized gun, based on the concept by Sergey Tsimmer.
Hard surface artist James Ritossa did a detailed breakdown of a brass material, which 80.lv readers can download for free.
