What is it about taxi startups launching in time for LeWeb? Then again, you can't beat a captive audience. And so it is that Taxibeat, the hail-a-cab smartphone app and taxi driver marketplace, has launched in Paris this week, just in time to help ferry a bunch of geeks to the LeWeb conference and countless after parties. For Taxibeat it represents a fairly aggressive international roll-out strategy over the last four months, having first launched in the startup's native Athens, Greece, in May 2011, it's recently expanded to Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo (Brazil), Oslo (Norway) and Bucharest (Romania). As of today, the company can add the City of Light to that list.

About An excellent pair of four-drawer dressers custom-made by George Nakashima in his New Hope Studio in 1970. Constructed in highly figured cherry in a Minimalist rectangular forms with exposed dovetail joints on sap block base, these pieces exemplify the superb woodwork craftsmanship of George Nakashima. The function is perfectly wed with the aesthetics. The pieces come with a copy of original order card dated to 1970.
The Nakashima chair designs are based primarily on the Windsor and Shaker traditions, with turned legs, steam-bent backs and hand-shaved hickory spindles. George’s Conoid Chair is a radical departure, as the side rails are integral with the two legs which cantilever the seat. Mira’s Concordia Chair has no spindles at all, with two sturdy solid legs joined to the seat and the other holding a shaped crest rail.
This side table was originally designed and named for a client who wanted a side table under which to store two Greenrock ottomans. It can be made in many sizes.
The Showroom was built in 1954, when Kevin was born and the family’s home office was no longer sufficient for its spatial needs.
