About Maple root veneer on solid wood. Three-sided retracted base plate on disc feet. Inclined, eight-sided columned column, flanked by three curly volutes. A strict form of the early Biedermeier period. He is equipped with a folding mechanism. This type is very practical, not only because it saves space, but because it looks very decorative when folded up. It is a traditionally built table. It can only be distinguished from a table from 1820 by a specialist, because the color and the patina are the original A-GM-59.

About A Swedish Karl Johan sofa bench with upholstered seat from the mid-19th century. This antique settee from Sweden features an open back with wooden back rests, nicely decorated with floral and urn ebony colored acccents, framed within widely spaced back splats. Gracefully swooping arms flank each side ending into nicely curled knuckles with ebonized finials positioned prominently in front. The wood skirt is a neat, straight line with diamond and floral motif at center, which is a larger reflection of four other diamonds along the lower back rail, and is raised upon subtle saber feet at front. Bench seat has been newly upholstered in a neutral Belgian linen. This Karl Johan Biedermeier style sofa bench would be a welcoming addition to an entry foyer or wide entry hall, or perhaps a study, or bedroom seating option.

About A pair of chic early 19th century Swedish Karl Johan figural birchwood chairs with elegant scrolled arms, ribbon-carved backsplats with ebonized wood carved flower rosettes, saber legs, and black velvet upholstery. The Karl Johan movement ran parallel to the Biedermeier movement happening in Austria and Germany in the early 19th century. Originally purchased from Rita Bucheit, the preeminent Biedermeier and Art Deco furniture in the United States. Recently acquired from an estate in Chicago with architecture by Bobby McAlpine and interiors by Tracy Hickman.
