French artists Chloé Curé and Bertrand Lanthiez created a “mirror” effect with just water and speakers. It’s an interactive art project titled “We are Narcissus.” The longer a person stares into the mirror and gazes at their own reflection, the more their face gets distorted—leading the person “to question their relation to their own image.” (And making it damned near impossible to take the perfect selfie!) I like this idea. I like its message. It works perfectly with the story of Narcissus, a vain hunter full of hubris and arrogance. Lured to a lake by Nemesis, the Greek goddess of revenge and divine retribution, Narcissus fell in love with his own reflection in the water, not realizing he was looking at himself. Unable to leave the beauty of his own reflection, Narcissus died there. That’s hubris, baby. So does this mean we’re all going to die if we keep taking photos of ourselves posing in front of mirrors? Surely you’ve heard the rumors that selfies contain carcinogens? Google it. Watch the video below: Via Booooooom!

Have you ever taken a good look long at yourself and said, "More, I need more!" Selfies, that is. The Museum of Selfies opened up last Sunday, April 1st and is in a easy to reach part of Glendale. We at TTDILA got to go through on an early preview and there are some definite spots you'll want to shove your camera phone in front of. We were led around by co-creator/co-owner Tommy Honton. You could tell Tommy had a real love for his work as he took us through the history of selfies and some statistics on smiles. Hey Moscow, try and turn that frown upside down. Unlike other "museums" there is a section that does go through the history of us getting to taking selfies on are smart phones. Still, there are many places to take selfies and what better way then showing you with the selfies in this post. You could be high in the sky in LA, be a reflection in a mirror, in a bizzare backdrop room of black and white and many more fun photos. Try out the world's longest selfie stick, soon to be confirmed by Guinness World Records. And you can even borrow a smaller scale selfie stick if you need it. We spent well into an hour and more there. For a trip on the weekend or after work it seems like a fun must. Try it out and share the experience on social media so your friends can be jealous. The Museum of Selfies Now -May 31st Monday – CLOSED / Private Party Bookings Only Tuesday – Thursday – 12 PM – 8 PM Friday – Saturday – 12 PM – 10 PM Sunday – 12 PM – 8 PM 211 N Brand Boulevard Glendale, CA 91203 $25 *We really like the photo below of logos really made by Russia's government telling people to not take selfies in different manners.
