Taken Feb 24 Cirrus clouds are a type of high-altitude cloud made up of ice crystals. These clouds are formed when water vapor reaches a high altitude and becomes ice crystals. These clouds often look very wispy because of the dryness of the air. The streaks that can be seen from the cirrus clouds are sometimes called fall streaks, and they happen because ice crystals begin to fall out of the cloud. They often do not reach the ground because they sublimate in the dry air before getting there.
