Trying out a new orb tool I noticed at home that the star Alnitak in the belt of the star constellation Orion (almost) touches the front orb. Alnitak is actually a triple star system with the primary star being a so called blue supergiant. It is about 28 time more massive than the Sun, 20 times larger and 180.000 times brighter and finds itself 736 lightyears away from us. The pier itself was briefly lit by means of a small torchlight. The orbs themselves are certainly not yet perfect and also seem to blend with each other.

The Flame Nebula (NGC 2024) is an emission nebula located 1,350 light years away in the constellation Orion. It is illuminated by the supergiant Alnitak, the easternmost star of Orion's Belt.
M78 is just 2.5 degrees to the northeast of Alnitak, the easternmost of the three stars in the belt of Orion. But you may have trouble pointing the telescope to that specific spot in the sky. If so, one route is to follow the line of two dim stars (magnitudes 5 and 6) directly north from Alnitak, as shown below. From the second star, move east about 1.5 degrees and you should arrive at M78.
