Hi readers! How’s your weekend going? Check out this amazing art by Monday Challenge Design Team member, Emma Williams! It’s …
Well, as I promised in the last post, and since I made tons of prints (the truth is I had lots of difficulties shooting the video due to the camera, bad light etc) this is the idea that came to my mind how to use all those gel prints using crystal colours. Come promesso nell'ultimo post ecco come ho utilizzato tutte quelle stampe gellate realizzate con stencils e pigmenti in polvere (perchè cosi tante? Niente, ho avuto problemi con la macchina fotografica e quindi l'avro girato tipo sette volte :-O). I was eager to alter an embroidery hoop (here my first attempt with a mini one last year with video tutorial) but just altering and hanging it somewhere didn't appeal to me. So..... Era da un po che volevo alterare un cerchio da ricamo (qui uno piccolino fatto l'anno scorso con video tutorial), ma decorarlo e poi lasciarlo lì mi sembrava una miseria, quindi ho detto, perchè non farci un minialbum? In the video I show you how to transfer a laser copy image using cristal colours but these ones are transferred with acrylic paints (same process, just roll a bit of paint) Nel video mostro come trasferire una immagine fotocopiata con i pigmenti, qui la tecnica è la stessa ma ho usato colori acrilici How to make this minialbum in a embroidery hoop: Cut and collage gel printed prints same size and shape of the wooden hoop Come realizzare questo minialbum: Tagliare ed incollare le pagine gellate fra di loro usando come forma il cerchio da ricamo Make two holes in every page side Fare due buchi sul lato di ogni pagina Pick some flowers and bits of lace and gesso them Gessare dei pizzi e fiorellini Glue or sew the embellishments to the wooden hoop using clean embossing paste Incollarli o cucirli al cerchio Colour them with your favourite medium, I used PaperArtsy Infusions and Cosmic Pixie (here two video tutorial '10 Ways to use Infusions' and 'Colourful Cards with Pixie') Colorarli con i pigmenti colorati (qui due video su come usare gli Infusions e creare delle card con i Pixie) Stamp some sentiments and flourishes Timbrare con i timbri preferiti Link all the pages and the embroidery hoop with two metal rings embellished with fibers Semplicemente legare le pagine al cerchio con due anellini apribili This is the video 'How to Gel Print with Crystal Colours' Qua il video come creare le paginette interne e come trasferire una immagine con i pigmenti colorati With this I participate on MiniAlbumMakers challenge blog.

I was going to discuss my Colorburst adventures but am running late today, baking bread, sewing purses and general odds and ends so I didn't get time to write up the blog post, but I did have this lovely hoop I created during my time at the Expo. This adorable little girl is my youngest grand daughter and since girl projects are always fun to do with tons of flowers and pinks I adorned the hoop with lots of those elements. I did spritz the background paper and used a stencil but the spray was a gold glitter and it really doesn't show up here. This was easy enough to do. I traced pp and chipboard using the outside edge of the hoop then after using double sided tape to attach the pp to the chipboard I hot glued it to the back of the hoop. From there I just kept adding lots and lots of floral elements. I used some of Prima's art alchemy paint to paint the wooden love word as well as splatter some on the background. This was a lot of fun to do so I might just have to make another one for my other grand daughter.

Hello mixed media souls! For my today's project I’ve Altered an Embroidery Hoop using a vintage girl image, amazing Finnabair's products and chipboards. To alter the Hoop I first inserted a piece of cotton embroidery fabric, added glue to make sure it won't detach and primed it with Sculpture Medium. As soon as it was dry I made a color spray using Boudoir Pink Impasto paint and water. When the background was ready it was time to prepare some of the elements for decorating the Hoop. I made a Step by Step Tutorial so you can watch the entire process here: Products I have used - all the images linked to Mixed Media Place online store:

For my second June inspiration, I chose to make an altered object with two embroidery hoops. I wanted to get a "Girly Romantic" effect! Here is my choice of 2Crafty chipboards: - Mini Word Set 2 - Leafy Shrub Set 1 - Lattice-Leaves - ATC Word Banner Set 1 A layer of white gesso on each chipboard. For "Leafy Shrub" chipboards I applied an "Oakleaf Olive" embossing powder and then lightly applied a golden wax. On the chipboard banner "love you" on the leaves "lattice leaves" and on the title "forever" I just applied golden wax. To give relief to the chipboards I also added pebbles, mini metal balls and glitter powder. I hope you have enjoyed it. See you soon for a new creation with these splendid chipboards.

Hello, Recently, I welcomed the new year with my project, and it's already February and Valentine's Day is approaching. I thought it was a great excuse to decorate a heart-shaped base. At the beginning, I put a layer of white gesso, and after drying, I glued rice paper. I used Soft Matte Gel for this. After drying, I painted the surface with Clear Gesso and then I started arranging the composition. To decorate my heart, I chose Finnabair metal embellishments, such as decorative flourishes, rustic hearts and great cabochons with letters, which I arranged in the word 'love'. I added various laces and dry sticks to the composition. I lightly painted the whole project with liquid acrylic paint in Burnt Sienna color, and then brightened the edges with white gesso. At the end I added a beautiful metallic wax in a silver shade and a paste with glitter particles, resembling ice crystals. I invite you to our YouTube channel, where you can see the full video. Hello! Are you into embroidery? I failed miserably at it as a young teenager, and gave up with little hope of ever successfully taking it up again. However, I love the look of an embroidery hoop and the texture of embroidery floss. I decided to take my own approach to a hoop with my scrapbooking supplies, including embellishments and stamps. My supplies: Embroidery Hoop Embroidery Floss Muslin Ribbon (My Mind's Eye) Flowers (Studio Calico) Birdcage Stamp (My Mind's Eye) Doily Banner Stamp (Maya Road) Small Alpha Stamps (Personal Stamp Exchange) Large Alpha Stamps (Inkadinkado) Cursive Alpha Stamps (Studio Calico) Staz-on Ink in Black Acrylic Block Mist (Tattered Angels, Studio Calico) Stick Pins (Maya Road) Leaves (coming soon to my Etsy shop) Buttons (Jenni Bowlin) Doily (SEI) First, I added my muslin fabric to the hoop. In the future I would like to try something a little bit thicker (you can see my black thread showing through from the back in the right light), but I love the look of muslin. I sprayed mist in a few different colors to add some depth to my background and let it dry. Next, I laid out my embellishments so that I would know where to stamp. Happy with my design, I cleared the hoop and got to stamping. I placed a small book (Goodnight Moon - one of my little man's favorites!) under the hoop for a hard stamping surface. As you can see, I wasn't too fussy about lining up my text, but you could use a ruler and pencil to draw guidelines if you'd like. I used a hot glue gun to adhere my embellishments and added a few little "birds" here and there with embroidery floss. I also added punctuation to my text with the thread. I love the idea of the embroidery hoop acting like a small, round canvas. I'm sure I'll be making many more of these! Have you tried one? Link me up in the comments - I'd love to take a look. Thanks for stopping by! Tessa

Hello dear friends! It's Olga Ravenskaya with you today and I'd like to share my new work, using gorgeous Fern collection. I do love home décor things, and I decided to alter an embroidery hoop and to turn it out into the wall or door decoration. I wanted to create a dreamy fairyland so I chose for my project beautiful Fern collection with fancy leaves and flowers. I combined it with papers and paints, added flowers, lace and different toppings to give it a bit vintage look. All the chippies I painted with acrylic metallique paints to get some shimmering effect. And now let me invite you to the fairy world :) Some close-ups...
