Portland, Oregon-based artist Lisa Ericson blends her hyperreallist painting style with a vivid imagination, resulting in fantastical combinations of plants and animals. Ericson tends to focus on one specific flora/fauna combination at a time, like hybrid mouserflies or coral fish. Her most recent series, Mobile Habitats, highlights turtles that support small ecosystems on their shells. From mossy knolls surrounded by fireflies to gnarled trees leafed with monarchs, each turtle-world evokes a specific time and place. More

Animals aren't always as majestic as wildlife photography contests depict them. Sometimes they look as derpy as me and you. And believe me, I wouldn't be saying such a thing if I didn't have any proof to back it up.

This is me. Not all of me, though. Some parts are hidden. I am who I am, warts & all. I think I'm a good person, but that's always debatable, I suppose. I will continue to just be me again. It's been a long while. I had forgotten how much easier life is just being me...
*** NO shipping to CA *** The plants start growing as of April. No flowers on the plants until summer. Healthy starting plant Easy to grow and care zone 5-9 Dark green leaves perennial long blooming Bright white flower with yellow in the middle Leucanthemum × superbum (or Shasta daisy) is a commonly grown flowering herbaceous perennial plant with the classic daisy appearance of white petals (ray florets) around a yellow disc, similar to the oxeye daisy Leucanthemum vulgare Lam. but larger. The ever-popular shasta daisy is a robust perennial which gets 2-3 ft (0.6-0.9 m) tall and grows in a bushy clump with foliage spreading about 18" across. Shasta daisies bloom over a long period from early summer to autumn with happy bright white flowerheads borne singly atop long green stems. The heads are 2-5 in (5.1-12.7 cm) across with snow-white ray flowers and golden yellow discs. The foliage grows in a mat with glossy dark green leaves 8-12 in (20.3-30.5 cm) long arranged in a basal rosette. The leaves are strap-shaped, nearly evergreen, and rather thick. There are smaller leaves on the erect flowering stems. Shasta daisy is sometimes confused with ox-eye daisy (L. Vulgare), which is a smaller plant that blooms earlier with smaller flowerheads only 1-2 in (2.5-5.1 cm) across. The picture is shown for reference purposes only. We may not ship the plant in the original container.

Symmetry is usually defined as a sense of "balanced proportions" or "the quality of having parts that match each other," especially in an attractive way. And, when you think about it, it is all around us. Whether we look at human beings, architecture, art, or biology, there’s nothing more fascinating than seeing how the world is full of perfect forms and harmony.
