about this design: the villa is created on a simple minimally articulated ground plan, corresponding to a cubic mass. the interior is divided, according to the RAUMPLAN - into six levels. from the ground floor to the third , there is access from the terrace, with a sizeable three-part entrance portal, fully glazed and divided by a grid of framing, inserted into its centre. the fifth floor is set back from the main mass with a deep terrace; the surface of its facade its articulated with 3 symmetrically placed openings with glazing containing a similar grid to be the ground floor. the uppermost - the sixth floor - is dominated by the rectangular form of a massive pergola. as for the southern street facade, it's composed as a completely symmetrical monumental block of volume. For the interior, its crucial point is the central space. , occupying a generous area in the entire buildings plan, the living room , indicated in the plans as the winter garden, is connected through the sizeable entrance from the terrace to a wooden staircase with a space on a higher level, which for the entire width is linked to this room. As such, the living area is understood as a unified 2-level whole, divided only by 2 pillars and opening into the dining room and a second smaller room. in the upper level, the dining room is connected with similar furnished rooms and the staircase of the rear section. the principle of the RAUMPLAN emerges from within the building, and is the guiding principle for both the building's function and its exterior appearance.
