Arnold Newman est à l’honneur à C/O Berlin avec l’exposition Masterclass, rétrospective composée de 200 œuvres vintage noir et blanc, visible depuis le 3 mars. On y retrouve un très grand nombre de portraits, certains sont bien connus, mais aussi des natures mortes, photographies de rue et d’architecture faisant partie de ses « Early Works ». A l’entrée de l’exposition sont présentées des planches contacts de travail n’ayant jamais été exposées au public, témoignant de ses choix d’editing et de recadrage.Arnold Newman is the man of the hour at the C/O Berlin with the exhibition Masterclass, a retrospective boasting 200 vintage black-and-white photographs. It includes a large number of portraits, some well known, and several still lifes, street scenes and architectural shots from earlier in his career. Contact sheets are on display at the entrance to the exhibition, giving viewers an insight into Newman’s process of editing and framing.
