As a Middle School Art Teacher, I use this lesson to teach proportions, shading, and grid drawing. It's a perfect beginning lesson before starting on grid portraits! On each worksheet we work on the first example together and I make sure to emphasize that we are breaking down the image square by square. They are then ready to complete the next example(s) on their own. There is a rubric included at the bottom for students to evaluate their own work. Let me know if this works well for you or if you have any recommendations on how to improve this resource! Thank you!
