From one good thing comes another...I made these beads during a demo at my Clayville California Guild retreat, and decided at the last minute to send them in as a class proposal for Bead & Button next year. Having the proposal accepted was extra special, because I'll be thinking of my wonderful guild members when I teach the class! These "Lazy River" beads are in my one of my favorite stormcloud color schemes...graphite, ivory and goldenrod. Because I'm always looking for ways to eliminate adhesive from my work, they also feature some new clay "rivets" that anchor metal washers. Finished off with textured & painted base for depth & dimension, they were so much fun to make!

Clay/rock/ Stone Houses:
‘First Ascent’ A free-standing sculpture of a rock climber measures 14x10x6cm/5½x4x2½in. It is made from white stoneware clay, biscuit fired and then painted with oxides and fired to 1220°c. I make an original piece, then make press-moulded pieces which are all numbered. Colours, number and position of climber may vary slightly from photos shown. I send international parcels by Royal Mail Tracked and Signed For. This is quite pricey but if you order more than one item, you should only be charged postage for the main item and no postage for subsequent items. This keeps the cost of postage down. I have uploaded photos of the making process to my facebook page.
