Capture the fleeting beauty of autumn in Fairbanks with this stunning portrayal of the areas short-lived fall season. In "Fall in Fairbanks," the sky looms overhead, a blanket of grey that seems to stretch endlessly, while towering aspens sway in the brisk autumn breeze. Make no mistake- it's a warning of what's to come. As the leaves transition from vibrant greens to a breathtaking mix of gold and brassy hues, the landscape is transformed into a tapestry of color that evokes a sense of wonder and nostalgia. It's a reminder of the brief but magical interlude that heralds the arrival of winter in the northernmost reaches of the world. In Fairbanks, where summers are short and fall arrives with the blink of an eye, each moment of autumn's splendor is cherished and savored. "Fall in Fairbanks" serves as a testament to the resilience of nature and the beauty that can be found in even the shortest of seasons. Whether sent as a greeting or kept as a memento of cherished memories, this depiction of Fairbanks in fall invites you to embrace the fleeting moments of beauty that punctuate the passage of time in the Last Frontier (envelope included).
I have always loved the sight of an aspen grove. I’ve seen this one at Crater Lake in Lassen County, California, USA numerous times over the years. On this particular day I was struck by the late afternoon side lighting that was striking the trunks and felt I just had to capture it. I then processed the image for a somewhat “painterly” look in an effort to convey the ethereal and dreamy feel looking at these beautiful trees gives me. An early viewer of the image said she thought it looked like the aspens are dancing and I completely agree; hence the title. *** The images provided in this listing start with the original digital file. This image should be considered the most accurate for color, etc, as any other images will be photos of photos and may not be perfectly accurate due to the indoor lighting. The other photos will reflect different matting and mounting options that I offer, although they are samples and not necessarily this image. The following is a rundown of different printing and mounting options that I offer: Metal Prints: I’m fortunate enough to have a local printer that does a wonderful job on aluminum prints. These prints have attractive and safe rounded corners. When I get them they have no mounting hardware of any kind. I use super sticky 3M VHB tape to apply a “full float” wooden frame to the back as shown in one of the photos above. If you’d prefer the print be mounted tighter to the wall, I can omit the frame and send the image with 3M Command Strips instead. The price will be the same either way; just let me know. Metal will require a bit of “lead time” prior to shipping. This could be up to a couple weeks if the printer is busy but will generally be less than a week, based on my past experience. ¾” “Wall Mounts” (WM) These small 3/4” thick hard plastic mounts have an attractive black edge. Depending on the original shape of the image, they are available for 8X10 or 8X12 sizes. The photo is stuck to the mount via a very strong self-adhesive then laminated with a “pearl” film for protection and an attractive satin appearance. These mounts have holes for hanging as well as a plastic dowel to insert in hole so the print will stand on a desk, table, or shelf. These may require up to a week of extra lead time before shipment. MDF mounts: These images are mounted on an approximately 1/8” thick piece of self-adhesive black medium density fiberboard (MDF) and “pearl” laminated similar to the ¾ inch wall mounts. They then receive a “full float” frame similar to the metal prints (although glued directly to the board, not taped). These may require up to a week of lead time before shipping. Art Prints: These are unframed and unmounted prints from my professional inkjet printer. This printer can print up to A2 size (17X22”) and I keep luster paper on hand. Luster works very well for a wide range of images and falls between a matte and a glossy paper. Unless otherwise specified or requested any print ordered will be on luster paper. Sizes listed here will be mostly be in a 4:5 ratio as in an 8X10 image or the “natural” shape of the original file (I.E. 2:3, 4:5, 5:7, 16:9, etc) . If you’d like a crop not listed, feel free to contact me and if it can be done (some images have more latitude than others) I’d be happy to work with you. This and many other images in my portfolio are also available from my “print on demand” producer, Fine Art America/Pixels at www.tpeakphotos.com. There you can find metal, canvas, and acrylic prints along with assorted merchandise items with my images on them. Thank you very much for your interest in my work!

This original water color painting by Reefka, “Aspen Heaven,” is a painting of the Aspen Trees in the forests north of Taos, New Mexico in the Sangre de Cristo mountains. In this deckled-edged painting on archival paper you see the cathedral of aspens that artists and hikers from around the world come to see in the fall in northern New Mexico. These golden “dancers” sway in the autumn breeze and bring spiritual upliftment to all who view them. The artist, Reefka, hikes often in these forests where she often sketches and paints the amazing aspen trees.

Rooted in Aspen’s rich history, architectural design for the W Aspen is reminiscent of the traditional chalet form, including long, sloping roof lines.
