Lovers of Eastern European art, culture, food, history, and architecture might consider a trip to Bosnia & Herzegovina. This country is rich in the above, with its people having maintained their Balkan heritage through the Cold War and other challenges. Founded in 1452, the city of Mostar in particular is the administrative center of Bosnia & Herzegovina and also one of the oldest still-inhabited cities in Europe. Mostar is the home to ancient architectural relics of the 15th and 16th centuries, one of the only cities in this region in which to see such relics. Pictured in handcrafted Anderson Design Group illustration is the Old Bridge, a structure built by the Ottomans in the 16th century. You can order this vintage travel poster as a pleasant reminder of a trip to Mostar. To learn more about the city and country, check out Bosnia & Herzegovina Tourism.

Description The Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT is a coupe produced between 1974 and 1987 by the Milanese Alfa Romeo in the Arese factory. At the end of the sixties, in Alfa, it was evident that the lines of the "alfa1750" and "Giulia" while long-lived could not withstand the impact with the new stylistic trends; on the other hand, it was necessary to introduce novelties that did not stray too far from the tastes of already loyal customers. At first, it was decided to renew the 1750 with aesthetic updates and a new, more European motorization that, in 1971, was presented under the denomination 2000. At the same time it also gave way to the realization of the project 116. The Alfa Style Center, led by Giuseppe Scarnati, designed an intermediate car between 2000 and Giulia, ready to replace the first model that had lost too much ground on the market. Tense and angular lines and a particular attention to the interior space, to dress a traditional and prestigious sports sedan scheme, in which the Alfa Romeo, at the time, were considered avant-garde. It is also worth mentioning the marginal contribution of Giorgetto Giugiaro, who was commissioned in 1968 to design the new Alfa coupé and was completing the executives of what would later become the Alfetta GT. In order to reassure customers about the abandonment of the traditional scheme for the modern transaxle, the Alfa Romeo sports glories were used, choosing the name of Alfetta and thus making official the nickname with which the fans had nicknamed the Alfa Romeo 158 and 159 from Formula 1 that won the world championship in 1950 and 1951 with Nino Farina and Juan Manuel Fangio. The new model proved immediately excellent, both for aesthetics and performance, but the controversy raged equally, dividing the alfisti. In fact, despite gaining enormous hold and stability, due to the more complex shift leverages, the Alfetta had partially lost the sweetness of grafting of the ratios, compared to the previous models. Parallel to the new model, the company decided to leave 2000 and Giulia in production until 1977, causing - in part - a series of phenomena of partial internal competition. In 1975, in the midst of the oil crisis, the simplified version of the Alfetta was presented, which, as expected, was fitted with an engine with a displacement reduced to 1570 cm³ and a power output of 109 hp (according to DGM standards). The new engine comes directly from the version already mounted on the Giulia series (in the most powerful version, used until 1974 on the GT and Spider): compared to the 1779 cm³ engine, both the bore (78 mm) and the stroke are reduced (82 mm ). Externally the car was easily distinguished by the presence of a single pair of headlights on the front, while the rest, albeit equipped with a cheaper outfit, was quite similar to the older sister. The behavior on the road of the two cars was very similar. The diminishing power was mainly due to the low speed recovery qualities in the higher gears. The presumed benefit in terms of consumption, on the other hand, was thwarted by the need to maintain high regimes to achieve brilliant behavior. At the same time the Alfetta 1.8 underwent some slight aesthetic adjustment easily identifiable in the now wider Alfa shield. Its engine instead suffered a reduction in power that brought it back to 118 hp. In 1977, at the Geneva show, the Alfetta 2.0 was presented. The two-liter version brings many innovations. To begin with it is easily distinguishable from the younger sisters for the redesigned front that now in addition to being lower and longer than 10 cm has two rectangular headlights. The bumpers are always made of stainless steel but now have plastic corners and incorporate polyurethane inserts and the direction indicators in the front. The front windows lose the deflector and the rear lights are larger. Inside immediately stands the new plank all of plastic material and the steering wheel of new design. Overall, the line appears more modern even if more anonymous and less sporty. The engine derives directly from the 1779 cm³ version of which it also maintains the original power of 122 hp. The increase in displacement is obtained by increasing the bore to 84 mm but keeping the stroke of 88.4 mm unchanged. The soundproofing of the mechanical parts is improved and the suspensions are more devoted to comfort. Meanwhile versions 1.6 and 1.8 are unified in the outfits and in the appearance. In 1978 the 2.0 became "Luxury" thanks to more accurate finishes and the engine was boosted to 130 hp. With the Alfetta 2.0 turbodiesel, the first Italian supercharged diesel car was born in 1979. Externally it is distinguishable from the petrol version only for the additional ventilation slits on the front bumper. This car is driven by an engine built by the Italian VM Motori that provides 82 hp and pushes the car to over 155 km / h, making it the fastest 2000 diesel in production at the time. The weight increase due to the new engine requires a stiffening of the suspension and a greater reduction of the steering. The gear ratios are also adjusted. In the same year the 1.8 version regains the original 122 hp of maximum power now at 5300 rpm instead of 5600 rpm
