I really liked the colors in this card I found on Pinterest. No name though, so I can't say whose inspiration I got for my card! If the card is yours.... Thank You! I used stamps that I had on hand and a bit different colors, but the concept is the same. I added a 'Wink of Stella' to the trees to make them shine. Thanks for taking a peek! Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing a beautiful retirement card that features Honey Bee Stamps awesome Seaside Summer stamp set! I also added some pieces from the Shoreline Scene Builder dies to add extra dimension to my ocean scene. Join me for the steps to make this card as I dream of being at the beach!!! I began by creating my ocean scene using the Seaside Summer set. All inks used are Distress Oxide inks. I also used my MISTI for all of the stamping so I could repeat the stamping as needed. Stamp the bottom sand dune with Antique Linen. I used a brayer to add Antique Linen to the second sand dune layer to make it appear lighter. Stamp the top sand dune layer. Stamp the shadows of the top sand dunes with Brushed Corduroy. Use an ink blender brush or sponge dauber to color in the sand that will be between the dunes and the water.Be sure to let these inks dry before beginning the next steps. I used my heat tool, because I'm a tad bit impatient! LOL! Plan where to position the grasses on the card. Treat the cardstock with an anti static pouch. Stamp the grasses with Mowed Lawn. Then stamp with clear embossing ink, add clear embossing powder, and heat set. Stamp the fences with Weathered Wood. Stamp with clear embossing ink, add clear embossing powder, and heat set. Stamp the ocean with Uncharted Mariner, Mermaid Lagoon, and Salvaged Patine. Use a towel or ink blending brush to smooth out any hard lines between the color so the colors will blend. Stamp the sun with Squeezed Lemonade and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Mask off the ocean with some masking tape. Use ink blender brushes to blend on Mustard Seed, Squeezed Lemonade, Tumbled Glass, and Mermaid Lagoon. Note: After I inked the sky, the sun didn't show up anymore! So I stamped the sun again with clear embossing ink and heat embossed Bee Sweet embossing powder over it. Trim the panel to 3-¾" x 5".Next I die cut some of the pieces from the Shoreline Scene Builder Honey Cuts and colored them with a few Copic Markers. I adhered them with small pieces of foam tape and also Bee Creative glue. The sentiment from the Seas The Day set is stamped with black ink and die cut with the coordinating die. I popped it up with foam tape. I adhered the panel to a 4" x 5-¼" piece of cardstock that I inked the edges of in Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide. The panels are then glued to an A2 card base. Check out the wax seals I made using the new Vitamin Sea Wax Melts and the Seashell Wax Stamper. These are so fun to make! I use my heat tool to melt the wax in the Wax Melting Spoon and pour them out onto a silicone mat. This way, if I mess it up, I won't have ruined an envelope. I just use a very strong adhesive like Glue Dots to attach them when I want to use one. I wish it showed in the photos, but I did add some sparkle with a clear glitter pen to the white parts of the waves. I hope you enjoyed my trip to the beach with my card today! Have a wonderful, crafty day! As always, thank you so much for stopping by!

Want a real wow for your next summery card? How about a beach, with real sand! I'll show you how simple it is to add a real ka-pow technique to your card in this easy mini photo tutorial. All you need is a clear, quick-drying liquid glue, fine-grain sand (not the gritty, pebbly stuff) and a little drying time. I used the Colorful Seasons stamp set for my saying and my fun little canvas beach chair. The ink colors are Sahara Sand, Bermuda Bay, Tranquil Tide, Soft Suede and Soft Sky. First up, let's talk about the background of this...

I'm continuing to craft this week with the Beach Day Bundle from Stampin' Up! Today I created this Beach Day Sending Sunshine Card.
I fell in love with Kim's creation, and knew I just had to create one for my husband for our anniversary! Now, I know Kim (and others found on Pinterest) have used the window sheets to create this effect. I did not have any window sheets, so I needed to eyeball it as much as I could (now, I know what to order on my next Stampin' Up list!). Such a cool effect! I love it! The 'sand' is from the 'Daffodil Daydream' stamp set. The birds and 'water' are from the 'High Tide' stamp set. The sentiment is from 'Happy Birthday Gorgeous' stamp set. Thanks for taking a peek! Stamp sets: Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Daffodil Daydream, High Tide Ink - Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Memento Paper - Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Basic Black, Crumb Cake Accessories - Stampin' Trimmer, Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine, Palms dies, Circles Collection dies, dimensionals, glue dots

It's Tuesday and time for a new challenge at CASology. This week's cue word is WAVE. I decided to look through my embossing folders to see if I had any that would fit that theme and was surprised to find 3 of them. I stamped my starfish in different colours and paired them up with different "seaweed" looking dies. The sand stamp is an old wood mounted stamp from South Africa and is about 25 years old!! I added some white Liquid Pearls to give more dimension to the starfish. Which colour and embossing folder do you prefer? It would be a wonderful if you popped along to visit the rest of the Design Team and gave them a wave too. I showed a fun technique in last night's Facebook Live - Baby Wipe Backgrounds. For this card, I used Gorgeous Grape, Blueberry Bushel, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Granny Apple Green. Each color was applied along the edge of a fold of a baby wipe, and then the edge was swiped across a piece of glossy cardstock. The die cut hot air balloon is made with the retiring Up & Away thinlits. The greeting is from "Above the Clouds" - a new hot air balloon bundle that will be available in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. I used three colors on this card - Seaside Spray, Balmy Blue and Sahara Sand. This time, I applied them one at a time, starting with the Balmy Blue sea. I used torn pieces of Whisper White to mask areas. I added the sand and sky after I was happy with the … Continue reading →

Hello and welcome! It's taken a little while but today is my second post of cards I've made with the Beach Day stamp set and die bundle. This time I'm focusing on the lifesaving beach tower scenes using simple masking techniques and marker colouring with Stampin' Blends. One of the cards was a class project too. Take a look. This version was one of my class projects. I started with a Balmy Blue base, Crumb Cake panel, and a white panel with a square section masked off and inked using blending brushes with Crumb Cake and Balmy Blue ink. I could have created a hard horizon line but I liked the hazy look, like you often see when looking off a beach. Then I started building my scene with the lifesaver tower and palm tree stamps and die cuts. The lifesaver tower is stamped in Basic Gray in and coloured with Stampin' Blends markers (Smoky Slate Light, Azure Afternoon Light & Dark, Sweet Sorbet Light & Dark, and Crumb Cake Light and Dark), then cut out with the coordinating die. I also used a Light Pool Party Blend to soften the die cut edge. Stamping Tip: To help get the best alignment of intricate or stretchy stamp images and dies, place the stamp into the die to hold it in the correct position while you adhere to the block. This makes sure the stamp is in exactly the right spot for die cutting. The surfboard is stamped in Smoky Slate ink and coloured with Light Parakeet Party Blends. Once dry I stamped the 'enjoy today' sentiment with Basic Gray ink. The palm tree was die cut with Granny Apple Green and Crumb Cake cardstock, and I added some shading with the same colour in Stampin' Blends markers. I love the 'sending sunshine your way' sentiment, and actually all the sentiments in the set. They're obviously useful for birthdays but for all occasions cards too. Speaking of the sentiments, there are two more inside, and another surfboard. VERSION 2 This is the same design as the first with a different colour scheme. The base is Coastal Cabana, as is the inked sky. I also used Shaded Spruce for the palm tree leaves. VERSION 3 This one came about when I was playing around with some other leftover stamped pieces and card. The base is Tahitian Tide, with Crumb Cake and Starry Sky mats. The masked sky is Tahitian Tide and Crumb Cake. I like the stamped sentiment tucked under the stamped image in this one. A little scrap of Sweet Sorbet cardstock ties back to the coloured tower. Inside there are two more sentiments and an umbrella just for fun. See what I mean about the mix and match sentiments. Take a final look at all three cards together. Next time I'll share some more cards using some of the other stamps and dies in the bundle to create different looks. Until then, do you have a fave of the lifesaver tower cards? I hope they give you some ideas to try. You'll need the Beach Day bundle to create these scenes and you'll be able to make lots more. Head to my Stampin' Up! store to get the supplies I used, so you can make your own beachy cards with the Beach Day bundle. I'll be back with more ideas using the bundle. Hi Stampers! Every year about this time I hear the ocean calling! While a trip to the seashore is not in “the cards” this year, ocean themes can be featured in “my cards.” 😁 Today I have four cards with ocean themes to share. The cards are no layer cards. I used masks to allow me to apply ink for the focal point. Along with the masks I used blending brushes to create the background for the focal point. Here are the cards: And here are my masks! For three of the masks I used 5 1/2” x 4 1/4” (1/4 sheets) pieces of printer paper. I used dies to cut out the desired shapes. For the fourth mask I just tore pieces of scrap grid paper, and placed them over my cardstock. As you can see I used Washi tape to hold the masks in place. Here are the stamp sets I used; WHALE DONE, SEASCAPE,TIMELESS TROPICAL, and FRIENDS ARE LIKE SEASHELLS. For each card I used a Basic White card base that measured 11” x 4 1/4” scored and folded at 5 1/2”. To create the focal points I put the cardstock flat on my stamping surface (a grid paper pad in my case), positioned the mask over the card front, and taped the mask in place with the Washi tape. I also covered up the back half of the card base with scrap paper to make sure there were no ink accidents. Next I stamped and inked the focal point, removed the mask, and stamped the greeting. SUPPLIES FOR THIS CARD: Basic White card base, Layering Circles Dies (largest one) for mask, TIMELESS TROPICAL stamp set, TIMELESS TULIPS stamp set (for greeting), Shaded Spruce and Early Espresso Stampin’ Write markers, Sahara Sand, Pool Party, Balmy Blue, and Shaded Spruce inks, blending brushes. ASSEMBLY: Place the mask over the card base. Begin adding color to the area with Sahara Sand ink on a blending brush, next add Pool Party ink, and finish with the Balmy Blue. Using the Stampin’ Write Markers, add color to the stamp. Stamp the palm trees image. Remove the mask. Stamp the greeting with the Shaded Spruce ink. This card is very similar to a card I created for another post (8 April 2021). This masking technique results in a torn paper look (Faux Torn Paper Masking Technique). See page 26 of the STAMPIN’ UP!®️ 2021-2022 ANNUAL CATALOG for another example of the technique. SUPPLIES FOR THIS CARD: Basic White card base, two pieces of torn grid paper and Washi tape for masking, WHALE DONE stamp set, HAPPY THOUGHTS stamp set (Mini Catalog - retiring) for the sentiment, Soft Succulent, Flirty Flamingo, Highland Heather, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, and Balmy Blue inks, blending brushes. ASSEMBLY: Position the masks over the card front, and secure with Washi tape. Stamp the seaweed, stamp the remaining images, using the blending brushes and Pool Party and Balmy Blue inks cover the exposed cardstock. It is okay to go right over the stamped images with the blending brush. remove the masks and stamp the greeting with Soft Succulent ink. SUPPLIES FOR THIS CARD: Basic White card base, SEASCAPE stamp set, WHALE DONE stamp set, Layering Diorama Dies (3rd largest) - for mask, Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Pool Party, and Balmy Blue inks, and blending brushes. ASSEMBLY: Create the mask and position it over the card front, secure with Washi tape. Stamp the seaweed and the fish. Create the water by starting at the bottom of the piece with a bit of Crumb Cake ink on a blending brush. Next add Pool Party and Balmy Blue inks. Remove the mask. Stamp the greeting with Soft Suede ink. This card is just a bit different from the other three. It is still a one layer card, but I added some die cut images. SUPPLIES FOR THIS CARD: Basic White card base, Pearlescent Specialty Paper, FRIENDS ARE LIKE SEASHELLS stamp set, HAPPY THOUGHTS stamp set (Mini Catalog - retiring) for sentiment, Seashells Embossing Folder, Seaside Seashells Dies, Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coffee, Pale Papaya, Sahara Sand, Gray Granite, Pool Party, and Balmy Blue inks, and Granny Apple Green (dark)and Mint Macaron (dark) Stampi ‘ Blends, Stitched Rectangles Dies (3rd largest). ASSEMBLY: Make your mask with the Stitched Rectangles die. Use a 5 1/2” x 4 1/4” piece of the Pearlescent paper and the Seaside Seashells die to cut out the images. Stamp the images. Place the piece in the Seashells embossing folder and run it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Snip the images you want for the card from the die cut. Color the sea plants with the Stampin’ Blends and set the die cuts aside. Position the mask over the cardstock. Secure in place with Washi tape. Use the Sahara Sand and a touch of Gray Granite inks and blending brushes to create the base for the sand. Use the Pool Party and the Balmy Blue inks to create some water. With Sahara Sand ink and “sand” stamp add some texture to the “sandy area” of the card. Remove the mask. Arrange and adhere the sea plants and seashells on the card front. Stamp the greeting with Sahara Sand ink. These card were easy to make, and best of all went together quickly. I do enjoy making no layer cards. These types of cards help me to reach a little bit beyond my usual routine, and forces mr to come up with creative ways to create interesting, but simple cards. I hope you give the masking techniques to create some no layer cards. * The printer paper and grid paper are interchangeable, actually any thinner paper will do. If you do not have Washi tape, no problem. You can use masking tape, painter’s tape, or even Scotch tape. That’s all for today. Thank you for stopping by. Until next time... Stamp Happy! I had fun sharing a few projects on a Facebook Live video yesterday. For the next couple of weeks, I will be doing a video a week showcasing some RETIRING products, and then mixing in some NEW products. Watch the Video! You can watch the video on HERE on my Facebook Business Page, or catch it here on YouTube below: If videos are not your thing, here are the projects that I demonstrated, and more information about each. First up is a card using retiring products. These cards feature this awesome beach chair die, from the Seasonal Layers die set. I cut a rainbow of beach chairs out, and split them into two cards. The "water" under the chairs, and the teeny tiny cluster of stars are stamps from the Label Me Bold stamp set - also retiring as of June 2nd. Notice that on the green/blue/purple card, I stamped the "water" full strength once then stamped again right below it without reinking. That is called "Second Generation" stamping. I like that better than full-strength like I did on the pink/orange/yellow card. Other than die-cutting the beach chairs, these cards are very simple and straight-forward. Finish off with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, and rhinestones. Stamps: Label Me Bold Colors: Melon Mambo, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana Other: Seasonal Layers dies, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, rhinestones For my second card, I brought in a brand new bundle: Tasteful Touches stamps, and the Tasteful Labels dies. I can't show you a picture of these yet, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I'm going to get a lot of use out of them. I only showed the Melon Mambo/Granny Apple Green card, and then I demonstrated the Early Espresso/Cinnamon Cider card. The flowers and feathers are both from the Tasteful Touches stamps. What else is new on the card on the right side? A new In Color! Cinnamon Cider! This is sure to be my favorite color for a long while. It pairs perfectly with Early Espresso and then some Copper embossing around the edges, and for the feathers. I can totally see this with my favorite fall colors, and even blues and purples - really versatile. This card also features the new Old World Paper embossing folder. WOW!!! I am seriously going to be addicted to this folder. You may remember the "paper crunching" method of adding texture to your card stock. You have to spray it down with a little water first, then crumple it up in your hands several times. Flatten it out some, and let it dry. You get a lot of texture, and it looks cool! NOW you don't have to go to all that trouble - just use this amazing new embossing folder! Here is a close-up of the embossing on some Early Espresso card stock - it really shows the texture nicely - Stamps: Tasteful Touches Colors: Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Whisper White, Early Espresso, Cinnamon Cider, Very Vanilla Other: Tasteful Labels dies, Stiched Nested Labels dies, Old World Paper embossing folder, Gold & Copper embossing powders, Noble Peacock rhinestones, Champagne rhinestones. Lastly, I demonstrated a project using the digital download (PDF) that Stampin' Up is currently offering as a COVID fundraiser. It's only $12.00, and includes 15 pages of images to print off. That's a TON! Buy yours HERE. It's not a commissionable order, so you cannot combine with any other purchases. I think this is awesome - 100% of all the money goes to the two charities listed. You pick which one you want your $$ to go towards. The print-out part is the "I'm smiling under this Face Mask". The MASKS themselves are just too cute! I found this video HERE for how to make them. The guy that made the video did a great job showing how to create the mask. I used the Buffalo Check Print background on both of these cards. That's not retiring, and it's not new - I just felt like it was the perfect background for both of these cards. Here's a close-up of the mask. I used Whisper White Baker's Twine for my "elastic strings". Stamps: Buffalo Check Background. Share Sunshine PDF from Stampin Up Colors: Melon Mambo, Basic Black, Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green, Whisper White Other: Stitched Rectangles dies, Glittered Enamel dots, Whisper White Baker's Twine This week was Part 1 of my Out with the Old, In with the New series. I'll continue this for the next two weeks, on Thursday nights. Looks like I'm going to stick with Thursdays at 8:00pm EST for my Live videos...at least for the time being. That may change when my work and LIFE schedule gets back to normal, but for now - I'm going with it! I hope you enjoyed these cards, and maybe are inspired to make some of your own!
