How I made it to the North Pole was an exercise in patience, ambition and adventure. I stood at the top of the world and loved every second of it!
Khaya, or African Mahogany, (Khaya ivorensis) is a beautiful hardwood species from equatorial West Africa. It is similar in appearance and working properties to Honduras Mahogany without the expense. Interlocked grain in select logs produces a beautiful ribbon figure when quarter sawn. The wood is easy to cut, glue, and finish. The wood is used for anything from musical instruments to boats to everything imaginable in between! http://www.cookwoods.com/wood-by-species/khaya
