I rediscovered Elizabeth Berube's beautiful work for DC back in 2005 when I was going through my collection for material to post on my old 'Romance Comic Reading Room'. Over the last couple of years I've noticed Jacque Nodell write a few posts on Sequential Crush featuring Elizabeth Berube and her work, so for my post today I just wanted to bring all of that together for those who might be interested in this wonderful artwork and the person behind it. When I look at Elizabeth Berube's work I see a kind of Alphonse Mucha, Art Nouveau influence that fits with the time Ms Berube was working on this material, as that style was enjoying a revival of popularity in the late 60s/early 70s scene. Noteworthy is the inclusion of minority characters in some of these pieces. So here's those pages I scanned back in 2005 from some DC romance books, image-edited to hopefully get them looking at their best, plus links to all of Jacque's posts, including her interview with the lovely lady herself: First here's the existing Sequential Crush posts that feature Elizabeth Berube: Artist Spotlight: Elizabeth Berube Sequential Elizabeth Story Fashion Files: Beauty on a Budget – Woollies Special Announcement: Appearance by ElizabethBerube Winter Forecast Horoscope Fashion Files: Legs by Liz Berube Interview with Elizabeth Berube Now here's some samples of the different kinds of features Elizabeth drew for DC romance comics, beginning with a contents page from Falling in Love 142: Next here's a selection of horoscope pages, starting with the Fashion Horoscope from Girls' Love Stories 147: Pisces from Young Love 79: Cancer from Young Love 121: Leo from Young Love 121 And some horoscope double page spreads, first from Young Love 121: and from Young Love 123: Beauty on a Budget was a fairly regular feature in late 60s/early 70s DC romance books. First example from Girls' Love Stories 151: Next from Girls' Love Stories 175: And Girls' Romances 152: Plus Young Love 119: Not to mention Young Love 121: Finally some examples of less frequent or one-off features drawn by Elizabeth Berube. From Young Love 121, a request to readers to send in their fashion designs: A 'how to' page giving ideas for making decorations, in Young Love 120: And a similarly themed 'Hip Hints' page from Girls' Romances 151: And last of all (for this post), a charming 'Dating IQ' questionnaire from Girls' Love Stories 158: That's all for now, but revisiting these pages has inspired me to search for more, so don't be surprised to find more of the beautiful Elizabeth Berube's beautiful work on Out of This World. Next up - stay tuned for more cute girlie stuff - some more comic book paper dolls!
Disclaimer: I don't own Hamilton also just going with the flow so the story might be weird at times. This is an Omegaverse/soul mate Au fic. It'll be short and there isn't going to be much smut. Everybody has a second gender, everyone has an assigned mate. Most of the couples that come out of this matching system are straight with male alphas or betas and female omegas or betas but for John and Alex things are different. So basically John is an omega and his dad is a huge dickhead about it and disowns him. He is adopted by Philip Schyler cause the sisters convince him too. Alexander is an alpha and is adopted by George Washington after his entire family dies.

An ode to the serene beauty of the Scottish wilderness, this exquisite print captures the enchanting Roseroot herb poised against the natural majesty of Ben More, Isle of Mull. Stylized in the distinctive sinuous curves and elegant motifs characteristic of Art Nouveau, the piece interweaves flora and landscape to create a symphony of colour and form. Foregrounded are delicate clusters of Roseroot, their soft pink blooms gracefully arching towards the sun, set against a verdant backdrop of layered foliage and vivid orange flowers reminiscent of a painter's wild garden. These botanical elements, vibrant yet soothing, seem to pulse with life against the geometric solidity of the cliffs. The rocky terrain is rendered in a mosaic of cool blues and greys, creating a striking contrast to the warm, lush flora. Harmonious and organic, the partitioned rocks take on an almost tessellated quality, a testament to the union of natural form and artistic interpretation. Receeding into the distance, the tranquil blues of the sky and waterscape meet, their subtle gradations and gentle undulations suggesting both the calm and the power of the sea. This dichotomy is mirrored in the softness of the distant hills, shaded in misty blues and purples that invoke the vast and mysterious Scottish landscape. This print offers a journey for the eyes, inviting the viewer to explore each element and appreciate the serene beauty of Scotland's unique flora and formidable cliffs. An art piece that not only serves as a decorative addition to any space but also a reminder of the timeless allure found within nature's own gallery.

Capturing the ethereal transition from day to night, this exquisite print invites viewers to bask in the serene beauty of Ardtun Bay at the cusp of dusk. In the Art Nouveau style, the piece is a symphony of elongated forms and elegant, sinuous lines that harmonise with the natural environment, evoking a sense of tranquillity and romanticism. The composition is bathed in a palette of purples, blues, and ochres, reflecting the last golden rays of the sun as it dips below the horizon, casting its warmth over the calm waters. The bay itself is rendered in gentle hues, with reflections of the sunset and distinctive vertical elements that seem to dance on the water's surface, suggesting reeds or perhaps the organic motifs characteristic of the Art Nouveau movement. In the foreground, waterlilies with their rounded leaves and softly glowing blossoms draw the eye, creating a sense of depth and foreground against the liquid expanse. Furthermore, the silhouette of a cozy dwelling perched on the rocky shore, flanked by elegant trees against the twilight, portrays a peaceful isolation, inviting contemplation of nature's beauty. The distant hills provide a backdrop of subtle gradients, further enhancing the stillness of the bay. As a piece within the 'Scottish Coves' collection, this print celebrates the unique charm of Scotland's coastal landscapes, offering an artful tribute that will allure connoisseurs and admirers of both nature and artful representation. It is a perfect addition to any space that seeks to evoke a sense of calm and the timelessness of nature's allure.
