I've seen apps as high as $19.99 go free for the day and have gotten several apps for myself ranging from 99 cents to $4.99 for free! I have gotten a couple of cheezy ones in the process, but who cares....they're free, so just delete them!!! My next great find....also to do with apps....is finding Grace's website at www.imum.com. Grace is dedicated to finding the best and cheapest educational apps out there for families and their children. Every day she posts free and discounted apps for children. Click on her button above to view the free and discounted apps you can snag up today!!!! Grace is also having a giveaway right now for your choice of a $100 gift card to Amazon or the iTunes store! You can enter {here}. Book Creator is also another great app find I've been playing around with, where you can create your own ibooks. I learned of it at a ULS staff training last week, but I want to play around with it a little more before sharing too much about this app. In the meantime, check it out for yourself. FREEBIE ALERT If you didn't grab my Easter freebie that was featured on Educents, it is now available in my TpT store!! I'm also having a spring break sale! Today was the start to our third week back with students and I'm finally getting settled in and catching my breath! No matter how hard I try to go into each new year prepared and organized, it just never seems to go my way! Finally, I have a little time to share some things I've made for my classroom and to reveal my class photos!!! I was super excited when I sat down at the computer and also realized that it too, is Tara's monthly Monday Made It Linky Party!!! These are Skittles candles. I made these for my SPED team to start the year off "SCENT-Sational!!!" Now when I pull sticks to choose students, I don't need another cup to put the chosen ones in! Simply flip the stick. If the green side is up, that student has had a turn! Trash scrap buckets on each table! No more bits of paper everywhere or students wasting time going to the trash can! And the most genius idea EVER!! Glue sponges!! I saw these all over blogland last year, but stuck with my glue sticks! After spending a fortune on glue sticks last year, finding caps everywhere along with dried up sticks, glue in hair, on tables, and all over hands, and mushed up glue on papers.......glue sticks became my biggest pet peeve last year!!!!!!! While these have become my best friend! If you haven't done this yet in your classroom, you are missing out! No glue mess in over 2 weeks now! And although still a work in progress....here's my classroom!!!! My room is never done! I'm constantly changing it throughout the year....many times over! I've already made 2-3 changes that aren't even revealed in these photos. I guess I may be a very indecisive person. It's just that I try new things and they don't work, or I don't like the way it looks, or I find a better way!!! And let's face it....I am one that likes change!!! I don't think I've ever started a year out with a PERFECTLY complete room!! The pictures are pretty self-explanatory, so I'm not going to elaborate too much. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a comment! :) And here's a little line up chart freebie for you!

It's here!!!! And you're here!! So put up your feet, grab a notepad for all of these awesome tips you're about to receive and enjoy your freebies and the bloghop! You deserve it! My tip is to show you how I organize my classroom center rotations with so many levels. I teach 1st through 5th and students with a wide array of disabilities. I have ten students. The first two hours of our day consists of ELA and Math center rotations. I have four centers for each and each center is 15 minutes. So ELA centers are 9:27 to 10:27. Math centers are 10:27 to 11:27. This is my rotation chart. I really like using "real life" pictures as often as I can. I have four groups and they each go to four rotations. My groups go by colors. I have a pink, green, blue, and yellow group. ELA Centers are: word work, at your seat, teacher table, & read to self. Math Centers are: number work, at your seat, teacher table, & computer/iPad. This is my Word Work Center. As you can see, the trays correspond with each group's color. This is my Number Work Center! Each group does what is in their group colored tray. If they are pink group, they know they are to do what is in the pink tray. Sometimes each tray will still have differentiated activities. It may not always be the same activity for each child in that group. I also have an aide in this group working with the students. At Your Seat Group These are my student bins. Bins are not color coded, but folders are. Each child's bin looks like this! Two interactive notebooks and 3 color coded folders. During the"at your seat" centers, they do IN's. During the ELA rotations, they know their IN activities are in the blue folder. For math, they are in the green folder. The yellow folder does not pertain to our rotations and contains their independent morning work that they take out and do as soon as they arrive each morning. This method keeps all of their work and individualized curriculum so organized....for them and for me! Some think I do the bins because I use tables. But...we have these awesome tables with desk storage, but allowing them to store their work and assignment folders in these cute little table cubbies....let me tell you....is a DISASTER! The bins spell out ORGANIZATION! Note, I also have an aide working in this center. Teacher Table, Read to Self, and Computer/iPad centers are pretty self-explanatory. My Read to Self and Computer/iPad centers are fairly independent and do not require an aide or assistance for the most part...once you get them trained! So picture four centers, me at teacher table, one aide at word/number work, one aide at the at your seat center, and one center is independent in both ELA and Math. The independent center in reading is read to self, and in math the independent center is computer/iPad. This is the timer I use to time our rotations. I LOVE this timer! It is the simplest method I've tried. I love that we the teachers can monitor how much time we have left during our center and whether we have time to start a new activity or such. It is so easy to use. No punching buttons or inputting numbers....just drag the red slide to the minutes you want and that's it. No start button or stop button when it goes off! This is the large one, but they come in small, medium, and large. I got mine for free from my Assistive Technology Dept. so check with your AT dept. first!!! If they can't provide you with one, they can be purchased at Lakeshore {here}. As you know, there is little time in the day to collaborate with your aide(s) and I want to know how my students are doing on the activities I've set up in their centers. So in order to do this, each aide has a communication log at the center they work that they leave me notes on. They can tell me on the log if a student is struggling with a particular skill, has mastered a particular skill, if they see an "ah ha" moment or whatever! It has been a great tool this year! I have worked by trial and error, several times over as I'm sure we all have, and this system is the perfect fit for my classroom! I love doing centers as it keeps the kids moving and engaged, plus allows for much easier differentiation! If you are using centers or are thinking of doing centers, I hope these tips and this system will assist you with your special needs students and rotation system! And for your freebie, I've included the communication log and my center rotation cards to get you started! Communication Log Center Rotation Cards And before you go....If you'd like to follow "The Bender Bunch" on our special education adventures, I have a couple of giveaways for you! I'm on a roll.....must be the SPRING FEVER!! Four more days and I'll be on spring break! All of sudden, my minds rolling and I've created three Easter freebies for you, plus finished my more/less flashcards that have been on my to-do list!! I think just the thought of a soon to come vacation has transformed me. Since I'll be on spring break next week, we are doing our Easter activities this week! I just LOVE the centers and activities that you can do with simple plastic Easter eggs! Here are some of the activities I'm doing this week. I teach multiple levels, so I'm doing beginning sounds, counting, and number order with my younger students, rhyming and basic addition with my middle students, and contractions with my more advanced students. The possibilities of these little guys are just endless!!! But I found myself with so many levels of students, trying to create a different recording sheet for each activity....when I realized I could create one simple recording sheet that would work with every activity my students are doing!!! You can snag it up free {here} to use with your egg activities! My class is soooo into Science these days!! We are literally doing a hands-on Science experiment every day, I just don't have time to blog about them all......this summer look for my "Year of Science" pack that I've been working on all year!!! It's gonna be Super Awesome!!! While we are doing an egg experiment everyday this week, I'd like to share our "Easter Egg Sink or Float" freebie with you! You can download it {here}. My other freebie is my "Rhyming Bunnies" freebie. It is an exclusive on Educents.com. You can grab it from Educents {here}. I also just posted my "More/Less Flashcards." Many of my students are struggling with this concept and I'm sick of running around grabbing objects and items in the classroom to show them more and less, so I made these flashcards. They are available {here}. Woohoo! Four more days!! Have you had your spring break yet??

First off, I hope you all had a blessed Christmas and got to make memories with your loved ones! While I know Christmas is over, I still wanted to share with you some ideas you can pin for next year!! This was so much fun! In the past our staff has done this with one another, but this is all about elfing a classroom, not a staff member! Just fill a gift bag with goodies (I chose candy canes), set outside a classroom, knock, and run!!! You can get the free printables from "Inspired Owl's Corner" {here}. These photo booth calendars turned out fabulous and were sure to be a big hit when the parents opened them! I hate that I forgot to take pics of the finished product, but trust me, they are adorable and such a keepsake! You can purchase the pack from Deanna Jump {here}. Aren't these the cutest? These were so suitable for my class, considering we live in the Mohave Desert! You can find this pattern and pack from Linda Kamp {here}. We did our first book exchange this year and the kids loved it! Each child had to bring in a wrapped book, new or gently used. We sat in a circle and played a game similar to "hot potato." Students passed one book at a time around the circle while the music played. Once the music stopped, whoever was holding the book got to go to their seat and unwrap their new book! Will definitely be doing this every year! Take advantage of Scholastic's dollar book sale each year and give the gift of reading! If budget allows, spruce it up a little with a dollar candy-filled candy cane from Dollar Tree! Make cute staff gifts you know they can use!! While we as teachers tend to complain about some of the useless, cheezy gifts we get from our students....I don't know about you, but I've gotten some pretty ridiculous things even from my colleagues! Lastly, entice good behavior and make it fun with my free Christmas clip chart! Challenge students to stay on the "nice list" or even become "santa's top!" This was such a motivator for my kiddos last week! And you can get it free {here}. Hopefully you can pin some of these ideas for next year! And if you've already started planning for your first week back, be sure to check out my "January Math!" Click {here} to download a free worksheet from this pack!

Sight Word Word Searches!! Looking for a fun way to practice and learn sight words?? Let's face it! Learning sight words can be boring, but not with these fun sight word word searches. Plus, your students will get practice reading the sight words, identifying the sight words, as well as practice with writing the sight words. This set includes 12 sight word word searches and includes all of Fry's First 100 Sight Words...minus 4 words. In order to keep these grouped as sight words 1-25, 26-50, 51-75, and 76-100 to allow you to pick and use the sight word groups you are working on, I had to eliminate four words. So the only four words not included are: I, if, see, and part. Your students will still get practice with 96/100 sight words. Each word search includes 8 words making these not too overwhelming for young learners! After students find the sight word, they write the sight word in the space provided. They're also labeled so you can easily choose the group of sight words you need. NO prep!!! Just print and go! Be sure to follow me HERE and on Instagram @thebenderbunch to be the first to know about new resources! :)
