Cloud data management company Informatica had some earthly concerns when opening its new Austin workspace. Its 400 employees required more than 250 workstations. The 35,000-square-foot space was vast but narrow, and needed to be fashionable enough to attract the city’s competitive workforce yet versatile to change with the times. Luckily, the project’s architect of record, Lauckgroup, was full of ideas. In collaboration with Revel Architecture & Design, the team conceived a double-layer circulation plan: a concrete-floored main corridor, and a second, carpeted track between open office areas.

The Two-Colour table by HAY is a jovial mix of bursting colours and strict minimalism. Created by Belgian design duo Muller Van Severen, the Two-Colour tables feature a unique marriage between two very different components: a sturdy, yet airy steel base and a tabletop crafted from a new SFC certified MDF material, Valchromat. The unique, textured look of the Valchromat is slightly visible through the sheer lacquer, giving the geometric table an organic touch. The no-nonsense silhouette combined with a cheerful palette of colours creates a stunning contrast, adding a touch of understated glee to its surroundings. The sassy yet classy Two-Colour table is equally perfect as a dining table or as a conference table at an office.

This stunning desk by Dutch designers Buisjes en Beugels is so unusual - not only is it hand-crafted in The Netherlands from beautiful, natural birch wood with a contrasting bright yellow top (gorgeous!), but it's contemporary design is incredibly practical, too. With compartments on all sides for storing away papers, books, pens and pencils, and an extra groove in the top for hiding away computer and lighting cables, there is no doubt that the design has been as carefully considered as its quality. The birch wood is very carefully sourced from a managed forest - and the eco-aware factory is highly committed to zero wastage in manufacturing materials as well as packaging. Measuring 130 x 73 x 73cm (height), it is suitable from 5 years right up to 18 years old. And with a stunning choice of coloured tops, including bright pink (below) and green, never was there a better reason for them to indulge in a bit of homework! If you love them as much as we do, why not visit the very stylish Molly-Meg store. It'll cost you £750 - but for a stunning desk that can last for years and years, we reckon it's more than worth the investment.
