Did you know birds eat worms? It's terrible, but true! A picture book about worms & birds (and other critters too) written and illustrated by a2n2koon. Learn how Willamina, Queen of the Worms, with the help of her friends and neighbors, creates a plan to save the residents of Worm Town (some call it a city) from the desperate parents of springtime hungry baby birds. Themes include female leadership, collaboration, ecology, teamwork, community, building bridges to create unity, and even the importance of a balanced diet. About The Author: Anna Koon began writing at the age of six while working with a tutor to overcome her learning disabilities. The tutor asked her to write and illustrate a story, and with that assignment Anna caught the writing bug. Soon she was crafting storybooks for her younger siblings, and by high school she wrote short stories, poetry, songs, and created two comic book series for her friends. This story was originally told to Anna's niece, Avery-a picky eater who needed a bit of coaxing to consume a plate of pasta. Anna told Avery about Willamina, Queen of the Worms (Avery enjoyed playing the role of one of the birds-hence the spaghetti was eaten). Anna has a degree in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design. In addition to being a Super Aunt, Anna Koon lives Boston with her husband, Joe and her dog, Zeta. She works as a full-time artist, and is blessed to be a small business owner, and entrepreneur. About the Book: This 38 page picture book is 9x7", and is recommend for ages 4-9, but adult readers are guaranteed a smile (and a few laughs too). While the book will be available on various shopping websites, there are only 100 signed copies available. You are welcome to add a personal message for the gift recipient. Makes a great gift for kids, and worm fans!

Wild birds can be difficult to approach, but capturing them on camera is even more challenging as they often fly away the second they sense you. For Lisa, better known as Ostdrossel, capturing wild birds became a full-time hobby as she even has an ingenious setup that allows her to photograph them from up close without scaring them away. Her homemade feeder camera setup captures incredible pictures of a variety of species remotely as they enjoy tasty bird feed. Scroll down for Bored Panda’s interview with the author!
