The Jameson x Percival collection celebrates a day in the life of your average British match-goer. Designed in our studio, constructed by technical kit making masters, then embroidered, embellished, emblazoned in London. We’ve made a limited run of football shirts and Percival oversized embroidery T-shirts to celebrate the JAMESON x Percival five aside tournament. Playing home or away?
Midland Red 5523
The leading bus is Midland Red wartime Leyland TD7 with Northern Counties H30/26R body GHA 792, (2438) The bus, introduced in 1942, is in full lined out livery. Behind 2438 is Walsall's Leyland PD2/12 816, RDH 816 on a Stafford. Before the days of compusory crash helmets the motorcyclist is bare headed, at the back of the scene a newish looking Ford Consul sporting the must-have accessory, a metal sun visor. I have no idea where this mid 1950's picture was taken
Midland Red 1953 LD8 SHA 429 (4029) is pulling away from the bus stop in the centre of Malvern. The route, the 144, was a splendid run from the centre of Birmingham, through Bromsgrove and Worcester and ending up at Malvern, I suspect we had been on 4029 with our Midland Red Day Anywhere ticket (5/- from the booking office in Worcester Street, Birmingham) Copyright Image Geoff Dowling ; All rights reserved, no use to be made without prior consent.
The Midland Red name disappeared 40 years ago, but dedicated enthusiasts are keeping dozens running.
The early days of this bus in preservation saw it take a trip to Leicester for an open day at Abbey Park Road 18/08/1974. D10 943 KHA was the first of two prototypes, introduced in 1960 it is a 30ft long underfloor engine bus that seated 78 people. Copyright Geoff Dowling; all rights reserved
