The inspirer of this bread machine experiment is the irresistible Elixir’s Easter Bread – I’ve never seen such a tempting creation :) before!! And the idea has been completely matching my plans for trying any type of Easter breads dough this year, so I've bravely unpacked my bread machine that usually resides the bottom of the cupboard, as I am quite impatient to wait for about 3 hours for the machine to prepare whatever… As I’ve probably mentioned already :)) patience is not among my strengths… But this attempt definitely worth it!! Thanks one more time Еликсир @ Кулинарен еликсир, for sharing her recipe!!! Ingredients: For the dough: 100 ml warm milk 1/3 cube (15 g) live yeast 1 cup sugar 50 ml yogurt, beaten, at room temperature 2 eggs + 1 egg white, lightly beaten, at room temperature 40 g butter, melted 50 ml vegetable oil 1 teaspoon pure Vanilla extract 3 tablespoons dark rum 5 1/2 cups flour For the filling: 1 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped 100 g raisins 1/3 cup  dried cherries, soaked in dark rum and well drained 2/3 cup of Turkish delight, chopped For the topping: 1 egg yolk + 1 teaspoonp milk, beaten 1/4 cup sliced almonds 1/4 cup brown sugar Bread Machine Program:  Sweet Bread - 2h 52 min + 10 min extra baking :) Probably because it’s been my first attempt ;) I’ve approached more carefully and willingly than any other time to weights and requirements within this recipe ... Something that can’t happen to me otherwise - unfortunately I am not quite successful with the strict observance of recipes, despite my good intentions... Resolve the live yeast within the warm milk and pour into the bread machine container (or whatever it names). Add sugar, yogurt, beaten eggs, melted but not quite warm butter, vegetable oil, vanilla and rum. Turn on “Sweet Bread” program and start gradually add flour until a tight elastic, but not quite fixed dough forms.  It has taken me 5 1/2 cups all purpose flour, but that probably depends on the humidity of the region, so if the dough is quite soft - add few tablespoons of flour, or if it gets too fixes - add few tablespoons of warm milk. After the acoustic signal for adding nuts, add coarsely chopped walnuts and raisins, but I confess that in my next trials I will add those to while braid the bread, because they colore the dough, if added while kneading it. After the final kneading, pour the dough onto a lightly floured flat surface, leaving the cover of the machine closed – to prevent cooling. With sharp knife, divide dough into three equal parts. Form three dough ropes about 55-60 cm long. Add well-drained soaked in dark rum dry cherries and finely chopped  Turkish delight (or any other prefeered dried fruits, chocolate chips, nuts) and fix those by pressing them to the dough. Braid the dough. Fix well at both ends. And twist into something like a circle :) to place it easier into the container... Get back into the container - I've found afterwards it would be much better to fold the dough leaving the dried cherries and the delight remain on the inside… Spread on top with beaten egg yolk and milk and sprinkle with plenty of sliced almonds and brown sugar. Get back into the bread machine and wait for the program to complete. If necessary keep baking for another 10 minutes until golden brown... The result:) puffy sweet bread with crispy crust and caramelized delights outside... And fluffy, fragrant and fibrous bliss inside!
