Every time I come back to necron fanart it's such a joy as I know the time will be spent with a great pleasure! To that now it's a struggle of choose between to paint and to read book. I started The Infinite and The Divine and the book is super interesting though it takes a great amount of time to read it in English. I feel this story would give a great kick to my imagination and I will paint some illustrations about it. When I have an inspirations the painting process swallows me and I spend hours adding details thinking how necrons would look like in real. I'm fond of realism, of a persuasive picture featuring details and light. Though I still have much to learn because I feel I could do much better. I was suggested to redraw my old artworks, to do a work on mistakes so to say and I really think about it. This time I thought it would be a nice idea to get back to my attempts to paint from basic 3d mech. I was trying to combine my recent experience of painting in cinematic style with adding details and improving environment from basic 3d. Honestly I still not much satisfied with the result as it still look sloppy to me and I feel there is plenty of space for growth. So further on I will work on the improvment of details and overall clean look and feel of my images. Painting takes a lot of time and it's not brign me any money besides patreon. Hey everyone! Recently I picked this idea of repainting my old art. It helps to spot some problems and estimate my current progress. After making few revamps I decided to pick I guess one of my biggest fails (https://artbrushray.github.io/img/2024/Lord_Necron_brushray_3.jpg). Every time I see the initial art I had made, it reminds me horrors of the warp. I still don't know how it happened, after all I wasn't that bad at that time but with this fan art something went really wrong. Perhaps I was too much taken away with details or Necrons and the idea itself that I ditched out nearly everything that's important to make a drawing looking good. This new version is not perfect either but it makes difference and sure thing a progress which adds motivation to keep pushing my progress. I want this work not to be a show off but rather an example of motivation for me and everyone who learn and struggle with results. So this concludes two things: patience and efforts one way or another will give results, the more you systematic the sooner and the better they will be; fails are important and not a big drama as against them the progress and results are visible.
