This listing is for Nova Scotia One Cent coins, as pictured. Choose by date and grade! These large cents, and half cents were the only coins produced for the Nova Scotian Dollar, and were only produced for 2 years; 1861 and 1864. Only in these years, bronze ½ and 1 cent coins were issued. A brief period in history and a piece of that history represented in these coins. The dollar was the currency of Nova Scotia between 1860 and 1871. It replaced the Nova Scotian pound at a rate of 5 dollars = 1 pound (1 dollar = 4 shillings) and was consequently worth less than the Canadian dollar (worth 4s 1.3d). The Nova Scotian dollar was replaced by the Canadian dollar at a rate of 73 Canadian cents = 75 Nova Scotian cents, thus maintaining the difference between the two currencies established in 1860. 1861 Nova Scotia One Cent - VF Grade / Condition (Very Fine) - Small Rosebud - Nova Scotia 1 Penny 1861 Cent - Only 4 Years of Issue

This is an uncirculated, mint-condition penny from 1992, taken from an Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) mint roll by me and carefully placed into a coin flip. The coin is only ever touched by rubberized tongs and gloved hands, so as to preserve the coin's mint state. This coins appears as a regular modern Canadian penny, except for having the double dates 1867-1992, there to note the 125th anniversary of Canada as a nation. The pictures are not of the coin you will receive, but is a fair representation. The coin you receive will have only what imperfections came from the minting process. Mint coins do have scratches and nicks, but retain their mint luster. I have mint rolls for various coins, including the entire 1992 quarter set. Please take a look at my other store listings. Baptisia australis – Blue False Indigo is an upright, Herbaceous Perennial that features lupine-like, purple flowers in erect racemes atop flower spikes that rise atop a mound of clover-like trifoliate, blue-green foliage. The flowers will give way to inflated seed pods which will turn charcoal black when they are ripe and then have considerable ornamental interest. What’s interesting is that the seeds rattle around in the blackened pods which were once used by children as rattles. The stems with the seed pods are also valued additions to dried floral arrangements. These showy flowers bloom in the spring, grow best in full sun in dry to medium, average, well-draining soils, and will grow between 2 – 3 feet tall. Part shade is tolerated however, full sun in the preferred option. Some other great features of these plants are that they are tolerant of poor soils and drought tolerant. The plants will take on more of a shrubby appearance and open up after they bloom. They will attract pollinators to your garden such as Butterflies and Bees while being resistant to Deer and Rabbits. They look great in dried floral arrangements and can also be used in borders. Another great feature of these plants is that they are low maintenance, making this the perfect flower for the busy gardener! You don’t want to miss out on this plant find, it will surely add a nice touch to any garden! 10 seed per pack Planting Zone: 3 – 9 Full Sun Height: 3 feet – 4 feet Width: 3 feet – 4 feet Attracts Butterflies, Bees Showy Great for Dried Floral Arrangements, Borders Deer and Rabbit Resistant Drought & Dry Soil Tolerant Low Maintenance Origin: eastern United States I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. Looking for a unique and vintage-inspired way to show your love for Canada? Look no further than this sterling silver coin ring! Made from a 1943 Canadian nickel, this ring is perfect for anyone who loves history and classic style. Plus, it makes a great gift for any Canadian fan! Canada Five Cents (tombac), 1943 *** During the Second World War, Canadian nickel was in great demand as a war material. This forced the temporary abandonment of its use in the coining of five-cent pieces. The first substitute material employed was a type of brass, called tombac. To aid in distinguishing them from the bronze one-cent coins, the new yellow five-cent pieces were given a dodecagonal or 12-sided, shape. The new coins, designed by Thomas Shingles, the Chief Engraver at the Royal Canadian Mint, were introduced in 1943. *** The World War Two Propaganda Coin This original Victory Nickel was first struck in 1943 during the Second World War by the Canadians as a piece of pure propaganda. A Flaming Torch and “V” for Victory dominates the design, whilst the Morse code message on the coin’s rim reads “We win when we work willingly”. If you look closely at the photo on the left you will see the Morse code message just inside the bead of the coin on the reverse. The coin was in fact the only coin in the Commonwealth whose design reflected the fact that the nation was at war. Used by service men and women, as well as those at home, it reminded people of the war effort. What a great way to celebrate a Birthday, Anniversary, Valentines Day, or any special occasion. Or just treat yourself. A small piece of a place you visited or your home country. Looking for that special piece of jewelry that connects you to the past, look no further. This will preserve the finish and the beauty of your ring. All rings are hand made using the latest techniques. All coin rings have been double dip treated and baked with a special clear coat that does not need polishing and will preserve the beauty of your ring for many years.
