Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Thank you for joining us for the …
Happy Friday! Ericka here and I hope you are doing well and staying healthy and sane. The kids are home from school which, as most of you know, means a lot more hectic and not much time in the craft room. I did however have time to craft up a card using some Carabelle Studio supplies. I love this fun Things With Wings set and the fun images. I also used a foam blending tool and embossing ink to add the Carabelle stencil pattern to the background of gel press paper I had made previously. I then heat embossed the two patterns with Emerald Creek Kiss of the Fairy (for shine) and Mermaid Fin (for sparkle) Embossing powder to get a fun background. This stencil is great because it has two patterns that you can play around with. I added the sentiment from Polkadoddle Sentimental set and finished my card by placing it all on a black card base. Thanks for stopping by and for more information on how I created my card, check out my blog Strangely Creative. Have a wonderful day and I hope you get in some fun crafting time during this "social distancing" time. Cheers!
This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme is to grunge it up! That is the artsy vibe I love, so it was a joy to make this tag. We're also featuring products from the fabulous Carabelle Studio. I started with Strathmore Mixed Media paper, out of which I cut this funky-edged tag using AALL & Create's Tag It Yourself die set. I splattered on some Distress Stain Spray and then covered over the background with Dina Wakley ledger paper. Next I started working on my focal element. I used Tim Holtz's Remnants stamp and Carved Pumpkin Distress Ink to make a background that I cut a circle frame out of. I also stamped this funny character using Carabelle Studio's Head and Shoulders stamp set. Next I colored in my character using Distress Watercolor Pencils. I made a hat for my character and also did some coloring around the circle frame using paints, more Distress Watercolor Pencils and a pen. I cut a scallop shape out of paper using Studio Light's Scallop Fun (Art by Marlene) die and stamped some text on it using Tim Holtz's Theories stamp set. I also cut a rectangle out of Kraft Heavystock for another layer. All that was left was to assemble my pieces together. I threw a number on my character's hat from Tim Holtz's Number Strip Snippets. I also made a red ball for the top of my hat and included the word "embark" from Tim Holtz's Chitchat stickers. I think that word captures a sense of adventure and courage when trying something new. Here are the supplies I used, which you can find at Simon Says Stamp: AALL & Create's Tag It Yourself Die Set Carabelle Studio's Head and Shoulders Stamp Set Strathmore Mixed Media Paper Tim Holtz Remnants Stamp Set Studio Light's Scallop Fun Die Set Tim Holtz's Chitchat Stickers Tim Holtz's Ephemera Number Strips Snippets Kraft Heavystock Distress Watercolor Pencils (Sets 1, 2 and 3) Distress Stain Spray: Salvaged Patina, Walnut Stain Sizzix Big Shot Tim Holtz Theories Stamp Set Dina Wakley Ledger Paper, Set 1 Dina Wakley Paint: White, Ocean, Umber, Lime, Lapis, Olive Distress Paint: Salvaged Patina, Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink: Carved Pumpkin Let's see how you get grungy this week!
