A Christmas history of our family...
Hello Everyone, I thought about getting this Winter Woods Bundle set longtime ago but I wasn’t really sure to get it because I have so many Christmas stamp sets already. Finally, I decided to get this one because I didn’t have winter tree set. (This is how I convinced myself to buy new stamp set
On the Kick Start class I took recently, one of the things that was mentioned was to take old cards and redo. I had made this card two years ago when I didn't have a blog yet, my only source of showing my work was Splitcoaststampers...you can find my original(scary how I photographed then...not sure why it's sooooo bad, I had the same camera. I think I've learned just a little about picture taking since then:):):)!!!) HERE...I did away with the framing, changed the sentiment, made the snowflakes smaller and colored the scene just a tad differently...maybe not a real redo...but a redo for me... Made with a stamp from Memory Box (Snowy Branches), stamped with Early Espresso and clear embossed. Sponged with SU Baja Breeze after tearing a post it note in half. Sponged top first, masking the bottom, then masked the top and super lightly sponged the bottom. Because the snow was brown dots when stamped, dotted the snow with white Enamel Accents, white gel pen didn't work. Used a white gel pen to put some snow on the branches. The sentiment is SU. For the Give-away...I have an extra one of these Memory Box stamps and would LOVE to give it away!! Leave a comment and I'll randomly choose a winner next Wednesday at 10:30pm...one week from now....anyone from anywhere!! Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa InLinkz.com
You know I love white cards, this one has a bit of colour but it really was inspired by this card I pinned on Pinterest. It's been made mainly with Memory Box and Poppystamps die with some help with
Happy Sunday and merry almost Christmas! Four more days! Can you believe it? How in the world did it get here so fast. It's like we went from December 1st to the 21st with nothing in between! I have a little more wrapping to do today, and some baking to do for our Christmas eve party, but other than that, I think I'm ready :) I just love this time of year. So in-between the Holiday rushiness, I have managed to get in my craft room a bit. I saw a super neat shadow box card by Lori Whitlock here and I thought, wouldn't it be fun to do that with dies! Oh yeah! So I fiddled and fumbled around until I came up with something I liked. I stamped the background with a Hero Arts stamp then built the shadow box up using the stitched dies from Lawn Fawn. I cut three white panels with the largest die and cut the centers out with the smaller descending rectangles. I mounted each of those with foam tape adding the trees on the layer closest to the background, then the snowflake on the next layer up. I added the peace sentiment on the very top layer. This was a really fun card to create and my mind is off and running with this idea! So many fun things you could do with this! Supplies: Stitched Rectangles-Lawn Fawn Snowy hills border- My Favorite Things Snowflakes- Taylored Expressions Peace- Papertrey Ink Background stamp- Hero Arts Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you all are enjoying the holidays! Hugs, Kay :)

I'm still on a Christmas Card kick. I'm not sure why, but I'll keep going while I'm inspired. I die cut foliage with Tim Holtz dies, inked them and embossed with various powders, I wanted to have a window card, to put the snow behind the acetate, but it's not really a shaker, it's just to give more depth. I added the bird fore some cuteness:) Stamp: Kaisercraft Dies: Tim Holtz (Sizzix) -'Mini Holiday Greens' Elizabeth 'Lovebirds' Embossing Powders: Recollections Vintage Mint, Ranger Bridal Tinsel & Distress Embossing Glaze (Cracked Pistachio) I'm sharing at the following challenges:- Rudolph Days Challenge ABC Christmas Challenge Dies R Us #149 Christmas in July Technique - Heat embossing/Die cutting Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog! I'm going to show you how to make a polar bear Christmas card with texture and glimmer that you can't resist. An easy Christmas card or winter card.
Welcome to another challenge with The Card Concept! Being the second challenge of the month, we're giving you a choice of two wonderful inspirational images. I picked the Winter Snow theme and used the optional colour palette on my mixed media card. I began with stamping the house image then coloured using distress crayons. After embossing those gorgeous pine branches I sponged over them with white ink then liberally pounced over them with white distress crayon to give it more depth of colour plus more texture. Further white crayon was added to the roof and trees then everything was splattered with white distress paint. The edges were sponged and distressed. With the crazy weather we've been having the past couple of months, somedays it feels like winter and on the days it doesn't, it's so hot and humid I wish it were! Lol. Materials used: stamps - Winterscape, Tiny Text Christmas (both Tim Holtz) card - baked brown sugar other TH products - picket fence distress ink and paint, pine branches 3D embossing folder, black soot oxide ink distress crayons - picket fence, walnut stain, squeezed lemonade, mowed lawn, forest moss other - clear embossing powder, heat tool, MISTI, craft foam, paintbrush, sponge dauber, Big Shot, distressing tool We'd love to see your creation in our gallery and of course there are more cards to inspire you from my fellow team members over on the Card Concept blog. Thanks for dropping in. Cheers Kerry

After another Christmas of last minute creating I've vowed to have all this year's Christmas cards ready to mail by 1 December. A bit more scary now I've put my goal out there. Even better for you, I've decided to post a Christmas project (or three) on the first Friday of each month to help you get creating earlier too. So welcome to my first Festive Friday share. I wish I could say that I've made my first batch of cards this month, but I do have some favourites from last Christmas to share with you, featuring the Hearts Come Home stamp set & Hometown Greetings thinlits die set. I was so happy these carried over from the Holiday Catalogue, as I love the intricacy of the die cuts they're so useful for lots of cards & occasions other than Christmas too. Blue Christmas This was one of my Christmas class projects & I liked it so much it became one of my personal Christmas cards too. It was surprisingly easy to mass produce too which is always a plus. My favourite bit is the layered front, which you can see when the card is open. The three house layers are night of navy (cut from the base), marina mist (same size piece as the front) & soft sky, and I added a stamped, white panel inside. The soft sky was popped up off the front on dimensionals for the class version, but not for my Christmas cards to protect them more in the post. I silver heat embossed the sentiment from Hearts Come Home on the soft sky piece & added some of my favourite silver washi (now retired). Use some regular silver foil in place of it. Tips: To strengthen the scene is to adhere a second die cut church (marina mist layer) behind it. You can cut this from the scrap left over from the main cut. If you're popping up the soft sky layer I'd also recommend you cut & adhere another house & tree behind the far right ones. U-Bridge fold scene This card was another elegant favourite. I used the same graded colour idea, this time in shades of grey instead of blue. I based this one on another fab u-bridge card by the fabulous Amanda Bates. The base card is basic grey with a white & die cut basic grey panel attached to the centre back , and the middle smoky slate layer is held in place with two tabs. I silver heat embossed the sentiment & added more silver washi. This was really my most used accessory from Christmas. Santa & his sleigh got a glittery Wink of Stella finish on top to add a little more sparkle A simple white panel & sentiment finishes off the back. I love the sentiments from Hearts Come Home. Oh, in case you haven't seen a u fold card before, it's good to know it folds flat to fit into a C6 envelope for posting. Silver Christmas My final card for today is a combination of both cards - the design of the first & the colours of the second. I considered this one for my own cards, but in the end I couldn't resist using the blues. Which one would you have chosen? Well that's it for my first Festive Friday. Thanks for visiting today & I hope you enjoyed seeing the cards. Do pin them for Christmas inspiration if you did. Hearts Come Home & Hometown Greetings are available until 31 May, but I'd recommend you order them by 31 March during Sale-a-bration, you'll get to choose a FREE Sale-a-bration stamp set or other goodie too when you get them both.
