Last Chance Products Sale starts today: SALES PERIOD Starts: 1 June 2021 at 1:00 PM (MT) Ends: 30 June 2021 at 11:59 PM (MT) My share for today is another 'Happy Birthday' Card that I designed using the Expressions In Ink Designer Series Paper, Artistically Inked Stamp Set, Artistic Dies, Expressions In Ink Ephemera Pack and more. Let's take a look: I just couldn't get my Card pictures as light as I would like too today. We have some awful dark looking clouds hanging over our house; but, no rain yet! The Expressions In Ink Suite is so colorful and creates some awesome 'WOW' Cards. The Expressions In Ink Designer Series Paper is just packed full of Bold and Bright colors. Pictured above is my Card from yesterdays blog post. My apologies...I missed adding a green leaf on the bottom of my Flowers so I'm sharing the Card with you again where I adhered the green leaf behind the White die cut. Oopsy!!! For today's Card, I used the Artistically Inked Stamp Set and stamped my Flowers and Leaves and then die cut them out. I experimented with full strength ink and then stamping off once for a lighter image. I used the coordinating inks from the Expressions In Ink Designer Series Paper; Polished Pink, Magenta Madness and Pale Papaya. So, you get a pretty image with both full strength Ink and stamped off once ink. My Card Base is Magenta Madness Cardstock. Using the Artistic Dies, I die cut out the Large Flowers Die from Whisper White Cardstock. For this Card, I chose to use the full strength Magenta Madness for my Flowers except the bottom Flower is full strength Pale Papaya Ink. I stamped four of my Leaves and my 'Happy Birthday' in full strength Pear Pizzazz Ink. Pictured above is a close up of the bunch of Flowers and Leaves. I also stamped the Dotted Stamp in Magenta Madness Ink on the Card Base randomly around the Bunch of Flowers. I adhered four of the Adhesive Backed Sequins from the Expressions In Ink Ephemera Pack to the center of my Large Flower and six randomly around the Bunch of Flowers. I couldn't sleep yesterday morning, so I got up in the wee hours and went down to my craft room and stamped.....using the Artistically Inked stamp set. This is just a clean and simple ink to paper, two layers with some masking card. I included a scattering of gems from this suite's ephemera pack, but overall the card is pretty simple. The colours I've used for the flowers are Pale Papaya/Pumpkin Pie, Magenta Madness/Melon Mambo and Fresh Freesia/Highland Heather. Pear Pizzazz was used for the leaves and Basic Black for the greeting. The second card I created in the wee hours of the morning used the fabulous Expressions In Ink Specialty Paper. I love this pack of paper so I let the paper do all the work for this card except for the die cut leaf sprig and some gold metallic pearls. I didn't even want to add a label for the greeting. Easy Peasy! I've been working in my yard and relaxing on the deck these past few days - when no creating was going on - because of the good weather. We've taken a turn though and it rained all night, which was nice because everything is so dry! We're suppose to get some snow tonight and that's not so welcome! But that's May in Alberta! I'll just huddle in my craft room and use some more of my new products. I've got a BOGO sale going on with my retired Stampin'Up! products. It's all laid out in a newsletter, so if you are interested in receiving a copy of my newsletter to get ahold of some retired products just let me know my e-mail and I will forward a copy to you. Hello and welcome I've entered into the latest Global Design Project #GDP292 - Case The Designer - Susan Wong who is an amazing Artisan Designer and I just love her projects. I've CASED her card by using the layout which saves you a lot of time when it comes to creating a card. The card I've created is for a customer who requested a pink card for a friend, who just so happens she loves pink! I love pink too! Polished Pink is so beautiful with white and gold foil. The whole Expressions in Ink Suite is my favourite from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue for 2021 to 2022. I just had to use it for this project. The Expressions in Ink 12" x 12" Specialty DSP is perfect for the background panel, I've used the Polished Pink with Gold Foil and White Paper. I've used the large flowers and leaves detail die which is from the Artistic Dies, I've die cut using Basic White Cardstock and added Magenta Madness Ink with the Blending Brush. I've also added a little of the Gold Gilded Leafing to the die cut image. To finish off the card I've added White Baker's Twine, stamped the sentiment in Magenta Madness Ink onto a strip of Basic White Cardstock and added Polished Pink In Color 2021 - 2023 Jewels. Thank you for visiting my blog today, I would so love hear your thoughts on my project by leaving a comment below. The Artistically Inked stamp set makes beautiful Clean & Simple Cards using Gorgeous Grape, Balmy Blue, & Rich Razzleberry colors.
I've kind of been obsessed with making alcohol ink backgrounds lately (and having lots of fun!!) and then creating cards with them. All are on regular yupo paper and I used pearl alcohol inks on the one with the black flower. The pink card uses the layered floral die from Altenew. I'll put a sentiment on it when I need it. A friend loaned me the die for the black flower and she didn't know where it was from. The vellum flower was embossed with white and fussy cut. I put double sided adhesive on the back. Thanks for visiting today and always love to read your kind comments.

Story of Elegance Welcome! It’s Friday! The work week is behind you. Time to get in some wonderful creativity time. And with our new Annual Catalog you have tons of options to choose from! I have so many favorites in this catalog I hardly know where to start. It took me awhile, but I finally […]
Hello everyone, welcome and Happy Mayday to you all!! This being the first of the month, it's going to be a busy day here on my blog, so I am trying my best to keep my post short lol.... It's my turn this month to host a challenge at A Vintage Journey, which as you will know is a Tim Holtz inspired challenge blog. This being the month of May I chose Spring colours as my theme (with apologies to those of you who live in the Southern Hemisphere). Tim has so many wonderful Spring colours in his Distress range, I chose to use Blues and Yellows mostly mixing them to create green and adding a touch of Rusty Hinge. The colours I used were Tumbled Glass, Cracked Pistachio, Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed. I also used tiny touches of Peacock Feathers. The Distress products I used were just the Distress Inks and the Rusty Hinge Distress Marker. I decided to alter a small canvas, it's just a bit smaller than 5 x 7" and started to layer on some colour using my blending tools.. Next I added some stenciling and background stamping using the Blossom Layering stencil and the text stamp from the Papillion stamp set. I was having so much fun that I totally forgot to take step by step photos, so I can only show you some little corners. For the focal point of my canvas I used one of the flowers from the Flower Garden set and one of the butterflies from the Water Colour set. I stamped them on smooth card, fussy cut them and then coloured them with Distress inks. I layered them up over the honey comb die from the Mixed Media Thinlets dies, which I had cut from Kraft Card and adhered to the center of my Canvas with Ranger Matte Medium. I rubbed over this whole arrangement with Glue 'N Seal and when that had dried used my Rusty Hinge Distress Marker to add some shadow and make it all pop a bit more. Using the Glue'N Seal helps to blend the marker much easier. The sentiment is from the Perspectives set, I stamped it on lightly gessoed book paper and then cut it apart so I could use it in two different places, and that is about it. I hope you'll hop over to A Vintage Journey to see all the inspiration my talented teamies have created, and hopefully you'll decide to play along. You have a whole month now and of course there is a wonderful prize to be won donated by our sponsor Countryview Crafts. Well, that's it for now, I'll be back later in the day with two further projects, so hopefully see you again, thanks so much for dropping by and have a great month!!
The Fine Line Florals stamp and die set by Concord & 9th are the star of this card design. Alcohol inks were used to create a vibrant background.

I bought some alcohol inks the other day. This is the first piece I made with them. (You're going to find a lot of blues on my blog this year. Just sayin'. ) I added Ranger alcohol inks in Aqua, Sailboat Blue, Indigo and Mermaid, plus some silver mixative, to some Ranger Inkssentials white Gloss Paper. I then stamped and white embossed the bouquet from Concord and 9th's "Hello Lovely", and then added a happy birthday sentiment from Hero Arts "Many Birthday Messages" white embossed onto vellum. I wrapped the vellum around the alcohol ink panel, then added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins. I will be sharing this card at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge, where the theme is "Something New". OK, now a question for those of you who have used alcohol inks a lot more than I have. The silver and gold mixatives both rub off on my fingers, and then I end up putting fingerprints on my white card base. Is there something I can spray over the top to seal this all in, so the card recipient won't end up with the mixative all over their hands, but won't mess with my ink? I have looked at a few YouTube videos, and one suggested Krylon Kamar varnish, but I haven't been able to find it (yet). I'd really appreciate it if you could share anything you've found useful! Thanks for visiting :)
