Hello and welcome back to our final Release In Review post for the January Papertrey Ink release. All of the products you have been seeing over the past few days will be available at the Papertrey Ink online store tonight at 10:00pm EST! So much goodness!! This is going to be a long one! I have so much to show! Since I didn't get my butterflies dies in time for the first group post, they also have been added to my post today. I am in love with this new release... seriously!! I'm going to start with my butterfly cards! This one is using the new Bitty Butterflies stamp set and Bitty Butterflies Cover Plate. I cut one cover plate out with the chocolate brown card stock , then I stamped each of the butterflies in different colors. I added a small piece of Scor tape to the back of each one then inserted them back into the cutout spaces and bent them slightly so they would stand out. I stamped the sentiment and added it with foam tape. Bitty Butterflies Cover Plate Card STAMPS: Bitty Butterflies DIES: Cover Plate: Bitty Butterflies PAPER: Stamper’s Select, Dark Chocolate INK: Dark Chocolate, Limeade Ice,Summer Sunrise, Berry Sorbet, Hawaiian Shores, Raspberry Fizz, Orange Zest, Hibiscus Burst, Aqua Mist *** And this one was created with Dawn's new Enclosed: Butterfly stamp set and dies. I used some of the Stars & Scribbles paper for my background. I cut the back of the butterfly out of some watercolored paper and glued three layers of the overlay on top. I glued a tiny strip of the Ombre Striped paper along the bottom edge, then added the embossed sentiments with foam tape. Enclosed Butterfly Card STAMPS: Enclosed: Butterfly, DIES: Enclosed: Butterfly PAPER: Smokey Shadow card stock, Stamper’s Select, Stars & Scribbles Paper Pack, Ombre Stripes paper pack INK: Versa Mark *** For this one I used the new Cover Plate: Butterflies. Such a beautiful die! I watercolored some paper for the background. I cut the butterfly cover plate out of Stamper's Select white card stock and glued that down over the watercolor paper. I took the background pieces of white and went around the edges with my Copic makers, making tiny dots to make the butterflies stand out. The sentiment was stamped and embossed with white embossing powder. Butterfly Cover Plate Card STAMPS: Bitty Butterflies DIES: Cover Plate: Butterfly Die, Tag Sale: Quilted PAPER: Stamper’s Select INK: Versa Mark This card uses the new Keep It Simple: Baby and Tucked In: Baby stamp sets along with a previously released stamp set called Baby Button Bits. I also used the Tag Sale: Quilted die with some Lovely Lady Patterned paper to layer everything on. And on the inside I stamped one of the sweet sentiments from Tucked In: Baby. I stamped some little leaves from Turning A New Leaf stamp set and added a little flower from Bitty Button Stacks. Happy New Baby Card STAMPS: Tucked In: Baby, Keep It Simple: Baby, Baby Button Bits, Turning a New Leaf DIES: Baby Button Bits, Bitty Button Stacks, Button Stacks II, Tag Sale Quilted, Scene It: Basic Backer PAPER: Stampers Select, Lovely Lady + White Basics, Ombre Stripes paper pack INK: Stormy Sea, True Black *** This card features the beautiful new Bold Blossoms stamp set from Dawn Mcvey. Dawn does the most beautiful flower sets! I just love this one! I added lots of little details to the flowers and leaves with my Copic markers. You can see all of my details here in this close up. I even added a few green dots on the card itself in the background. That was kind of scary since I had finished the whole card before I did those! I so hoped that I wouldn't mess it up! Bold Blossoms Card STAMPS: Bold Blossoms DIES: Bold Blossoms PAPER: Stamper’s Select, Lovely Lady + White Paper collection INK: Raspberry Fizz, Sweet Blush, Summer Sunrise, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avacado *** And for my last project I used three new products coming out tonight: Thanks Coach, Go For The Goal, and Pennant Flag Dies. Both of my kids played soccer when they were young. Neither one of them were any good at all, but boy did we have fun going to the games and watching them play! My little boy, who is not so little anymore, had a purple uniform, so I made my card in the colors of his team. Such fun memories :) I stacked the sentiments for dimension and I added the stars from Betsy's Scene It: Celebration to the background. I also stamped the Go For The Goal sentiment on the banner for a little visual interest ;) Coach Card STAMPS: Go For The Goal DIES: Go For The Goal, Scene It: Celebration, Joyful Christmas, Thanks Coach, Pennant Flag Dies PAPER: Stamper’s Select, Winter Wisteria, Soft Stone INK: Royal Velvet, Winter Wisteria, Smokey Shadow I want to thank you all so much for stopping by over the past few days for the Papertrey Ink countdown and for all of the nice comments you have left for me. They sure make me smile! :) Remember all of the new products will be available at Papertrey Ink tonight at 10:00 PM EST! Hello, friends! You all know the uber amazing Jennifer McGuire, right? (I mean, you are living under a rock if you don't...) Anywho, she posted on her blog about the Lasting Hearts Card Drive maybe a week-ish ago. The cause is one that is very near and dear to my heart, having dealt with 2.5 years of infertility myself, while also having to watch my very dear friend deal with not one, but four miscarriages.... well, let's just say, this cause really struck a chord with me. It's in my friend's honor that I've been cranking out cards like crazy to send to the Lasting Hearts Card Drive. Let's be honest. We all know that I'm not one who is often at a loss for words. But, when one of my closest friends told me that she was in the middle of a miscarriage, I can't say that I did a very good job of helping her through it... It was one of those situations that I just... didn't know what to do. I didn't know if I should say something, because I didn't want to remind and upset her if she had managed to forget about it for even just a second. I didn't know if I should just try to move on and get her mind off of it with mindless inanities. I didn't know if I should try to talk to her about it, if talking about it would make her feel better. I just... didn't know. What do you say to someone who has just lost a piece of her heart? So I didn't. It wasn't that I didn't want to, or that my heart was not aching for her. I told myself that I was giving her space to let her heal, that she would come to me when she was ready, but in truth, I was terrified of saying or doing the wrong things and making it worse. I wish I would have just told her that I was thinking of her, that I loved her, that I would do anything to help her. So that's what I'm trying to do with these cards. I've made several, some of which I'll blog about, some of which I will just post on Instagram. But I hope that they all remind these poor families that someone, somewhere is thinking of them and wishes they could do something to help with this burden that they are having to endure. Today's project is fairly simple. (In fact, I made three of them.) The Sunflower Cover Plate from Papertrey Ink does not require much in the way of embellishment. To start, I die cut the sunflower image using Canson Watercolor paper (the kind in the big pad from Wal Mart). I haven't been pleased with this particular brand of card stock for use with my Zig markers, so I was extremely pleased with how well it blended using my Distress Inks and blending tool. I blended the petals first with Scattered Straw, then added some Spiced Marmalade towards the center of the flower to indicate shading. The leaves were done with Crushed Olive and Forest Moss, again covering the entirety of the greenery with the lighter (Crushed Olive) and then adding some darker Forest Moss toward the center, where the leaves meet the stem. The center of the sunflower was Gathered Twigs, with some extra dark concentration of color towards the center. I did mask off the outer edge of the die cut with some washi tape when blending the center of the flower, and I wish I had done so for the entire thing. I managed to get some ink on the edge of the die cut, despite the care I was taking to prevent such a thing from happening. C'est la vie. The rest of the card is pretty simple, and in fact these cards came together quite quickly after I got all of the little holes pushed through the die cut. I used The Ton's Hot Tourmaline ink to blend the edges of the Jelly Bean (by Bazzill) card base. (The inks from The Ton seriously blend so beautifully, both on colored card stock and white, and I'm not just saying that because I'm on the design team.) The final step was to add the greeting: Big Hugs from Papertrey Ink. It has fantastic dies and sentiments to go along with it, and I simply don't use it enough. The Lasting Hearts Card Drive was the perfect reason to pull them out. I added some Glossy Accents to the Hugs to give it a bit more dimension and decided to stop. I felt odd not adding some sequins to it... maybe I will before I send them. Haven't decided. I sincerely hope that you will participate in the Lasting Hearts Card Drive. You can also donate money to help purchase with which the handmade cards will be included. The link at the beginning of the post will give you all of the pertinent information. I hope you enjoyed this project! I am so pleased to have finally used some of my PTI product that has been neglected for too long. Have a fantastic week, friends!
Hello and welcome to the fourth day of the Papertrey Ink August Countdown and the first Design Team group post. Today's post is all about the new Halloween sets... Mr. Bones, Happy Haunting & Tremendous Treats: Halloween. I've got a lot to share with you today... 1 tag, 2 treat wrap and 4 cards. So let me get started... First up... Mr. Bones, by Heather Nichols. I've combined this set with my Spider Web Die Trio and used the small and medium sizes to impress webs into a Rustic White cardstock panel. Then stamped the panel with a Mr. Bones sentiment and attached it over two types of Orange Zest pattern paper. Die cut, stamped and attached the cute spider. Up next... the tag, using this adorable skeleton image. I forgot to include an original shot of this skeleton, but I wanted a bit of movement from his arms. Here's how: I die cut and stamped two skeletons and then trimmed the arms above and below the elbow joints. With a couple of mini brad handy for reassembly. I attached the skeleton (with the arms trimmed below the joint) directly to the tag and kept the arms (trimmed above the joint) for attaching. Placed the arms in the desired position and then, using a piercing tool, I was able to pierce a hole through all layers and held everything together with the mini brads. Finished the card off with a heat embossed sentiment. Onto the second set... Happy Haunting, by Melissa Bickford. An adorable build your own monster set. I began this card by masking and stamping a row of ghoulish ghost in a color combo of Orange Zest, Berry Sorbet & Melon Berry. Trimmed the edge and finished the card off with a sentiment. Next... the treat wrap. Thes little packages were die cut using the Lunchbox Note Die from Royal Velvet, Orange Zest and True Black cardstock. Stamped each one with the monster outline and heat embossed with clear embossing powder to create ghostly figures. The inside features a mini die cut web, using the Spider Web Die Trio, folded over a candy filled glassine bag. I fix the bag into place with a bit of score tape. The third and final set for today... Tremendous Treats: Halloween, by Nichole Heady. For this card I chose to work with the spider image, I stamped him three times onto Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise and Simply Chartreuse pattern papers. Stamped the spider again, this time onto rustic white cardstock and colored (using Copic Markers) the heads to coordinate with the pattern papers. Strung twine spider webs (using the technique featured here), attached the spiders and finished the card off with a sentiment. Here's A Note: The twine used is actually cream colored crochet thread and I've had the same role for almost two years now. In case your wondering, you should be able to find your own at your local craft store. Last, but definitely not least... my favorite card of the day. Using the Take Three Die, I cut six squares and embellished each one with either an image or die cut web. Then finished the card off with brads and a sentiment. Well, there you have it. I hope you've enjoyed! Just remember that all of these sets will be available for purchase beginning August 15, at Papertrey Ink. Now, be sure to see what the rest of the Papertrey Ink design team has in store for you today... Hello friends! Welcome back for another episode from my monthly video tutorial for Papertrey Ink from the “In The Studio with Yana” video series. I am sharing video tutorials for Papertrey Ink on the 24th of each month on their blog and later repost them here, on my blog; you can catch previous episodes here. Like this project? Pin
Hi there! Today I have a card to share with you that I made for my aunt for Mother's Day. I used the same layout as one one of my other Doodlie Do cards, just changed up the colors and a few other little things. Have you ever found a stamp set, that no matter how many times you use it, still brings inspiration every time you pull it out? In case you haven't guessed, Doodlie Do does that for me. *wink* I am still so smitten with this stamp set. Anyway, onto the card... Haha! I used Background Basics: Tin Types for the lattice pattern, and some Pure Poppy bitty dot paper edged with the Pinked Edge border die. The flowers were colored with copics, and it may be a bit hard to see in the picture, but I added some Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to them as well. Hope you like! Thanks for stopping by! :) Supplies (all PTI unless noted): Stamps: Doodlie Do, BB: Tin Types Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Pure Poppy, Tea Dye Duo Paper: SS White, Scarlet Jewel, Pure Poppy Pattern Pack Dies: Pinked Edge Border Other: Copics, Popdots, Pure Poppy Bakers Twine, Harvest Gold button, Wink of Stella Pen, Signo White gel pen

Hello Friends! I"m excited that I got the chance to play along with the Papertrey Ink Blog hop this month! I always want to, and try, but it seems like I end up waiting until the last minute and then don't have enough time to get something done. This month they had this beautiful inspiration photo to get you started. I took many things from this photo. I used the colors, the quatrefoil pattern and the blended look too! I first cut out the Quatrefoil cutting plate then used it as a stencil to sponged a little distress ink on a watercolor paper panel. I started with Picked Raspberry at the bottom, Shaded Lilac in the middle, and Peacock Feathers at the top. The bird, the flowers, and the leafy branch were cut out using the Songbird dies from some paper that I had previously sponged with those same colors and spritzed with water. The leaves I glued down flat to my watercolor panel, the birds and flowers I used foam tape. I added Doodlebug Sprinkles to the center of the flowers and scattered a couple of random ones around. I mounted the whole watercolor panel to an A2 card base. Papertrey Ink Supplies used: Songbirds stamp set Songbird dies Quatrefoil cutting plate Bitty Button Stacks dies Thank you so much for stoping by today! I hope you enjoy the hop! Hugs, Kay :)
Happy hump day! It's time again for a new Color Throwdown challenge and Kelly has chosen some great colors! I took some liberty to add what I call "neutral green" - lol! The April release at Papertrey Ink had these Into the Blooms: Mushrooms dies that are an absolute blast to play with! (I see they are already out of stock at PTI). I cut all the mushrooms and leaves from white cardstock then color blended and assembled the layering pieces. Aren't those tiny dots such a sweet detail?! STAMPS: Tuck It Sentiments (Papertrey Ink). INK: Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Fine Linen, Honey Nut, Classic Kraft, Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky (PTI); Versamark. PAPER: Rustic Cream, Vintage Cream, Stampers Select White, Classic Kraft, True Black (PTI). DIES: Love to Layer: Torn Edges, Border Bling: Tin Stitch, Into the Blooms: Mushrooms (PTI); Stitched Rectangle STAX and Blueprints 27 Die-Namics (My Favorite Things). OTHER: Jute twine, Dew drops, Wonderful Watercolor stencil collection (PTI). That's a wrap for today. Hope you can play along with us at CTD this week. Happy stamping! ~Wanda

Hi there! It's anniversary time over at PTI, and I am trying to get caught up on some of their challenges. Today, I have a card to enter into their Sketch Recipe Challenge. The challenge was to choose a sketch and color palette and create something using both together. I chose this sketch: And this color palette: I pulled out my Doodlie-Do set (AGAIN!) and an old favorite, Dot Spot. I have not been able to stop using that Doodlie-Do set. I just love it to pieces!! I used the largest image from Dot Spot, stamped in Aqua Mist ink, then stamped, colored and fussy cut the flower and leaves. The sentiment is from Tremendous Treats Birthday and is stamped on a Double Ended Banner diecut. Then I added a hand drawn border and a sprinkling of sequins! That's all for now... thanks for stopping by! :) Supplies (all PTI unless noted): Stamps: Dot Spot, Doodlie Do, Tremendous Treats Birthday Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Aqua Mist Paper: SS White, Hawaiian Shores Dies: Double Ended Banner Other: Copic Markers, 0.5 black pen, Avery Elle Berry Blend Sequins

Welcome to day 2 of the Papertrey Ink June release countdown! Thank you for your sweet comments on yesterday's post! Today the team is featuring the new Into the Blooms: Iris die collection; I'm in love! I was in need of two sympathy cards this week, so I chose to make two identical cards to send to the grieving families; I think the irises are a perfect choice for a sympathy card, but I can't wait to use them again in a more cheerful way! I colored the flower portions using Amethyst Allure and Royal Velvet ink. I colored the yellow portions with a yellow marker to make things easier. The greenery is colored using Green Parakeet and New Leaf ink. Since I already had the Woodblock Prints Stencil Collection out from my travel card yesterday, I thought I'd use one of the other designs for the background on these two mini-slimline cards. I didn't add any stenciling in the middle so it almost gives the illusion that the irises are glowing. I added some black ink splatter for dimension, glitter and sequins (which I don't usually use on sympathy cards) and the sentiment is from the Feathered Friends Mini 4 stamp set. My second for today uses the new Larger than Life: Hello stamp/die set; simple and easy to use! I started off stenciling an A2 panel of white cardstock using the Wild Blooms Stencil Collection using some bright, summery colors. I also used the Cover Plate: Quilted die to add the texture over the top. I die cut the Larger than Life: Hello twice from black cardstock and then glued them together. The remainder of the sentiment is stamped in black onto a strip of white cardstock and adhered using foam squares. I gave the entire panel a spritz of shimmer spray and mounted it onto a top-folding A2 Hawaiian Shores card base. A few sequins finish it off! Thanks for fluttering by!
It's day two of reveals for the June release at Papertrey Ink. Today, we are introducing you to Into the Blooms: Iris dies + Larger Than Life: Hello stamps and dies. You will not want to miss all of the design team's creativity using these gorgeous new florals and sentiments! I first die cut all the floral pieces from Bristol Smooth Surface card stock then color blended them. I discovered the colors I picked matched well with the patterned papers from PTI's "Egg Hunt" 8x8" patterned paper. Score! The Amethyst Allure sentiment banner was white embossed and popped up with foam tape. TIPS: 1. Layer at least 2 sentiment and frame dies to add dimension and make it sturdier to handle. 2. Color blend your florals to add depth and a more realistic look. STAMPS: Larger Than Life: Hello Sentiments. INK: Lilac Grace, Amethyst Allure, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise; Grassy Knoll, Olive. PAPER: White, Lemon Tart, Text-Style "Egg Hunt" 8x8" patterned paper. DIES: Into the Blooms: Iris, Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border, On the Border: Sunburst Border, Larger Than Life: Hello. This background gives you a sneak peek of the new hot foil plate that you'll see more of on the last day of reveals. The vertical scalloped die is from the Birthday Celebration die set and has a wee bit of a striped paper peeking out. The vertical embossed design is hard to see in the photo but is a detail I love. TIPS: 1. Break up the sentiments into small "blocks" for a different look. 2. Add a variety of textures with hot foiling, twine, dry embossing, etc. STAMPS: Larger Than Life: Hello Sentiments. INK: Brassy Knoll, Olive; Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Honey Nut. PAPER: White, True Black, Bristol Smooth Surface; Striped patterned paper. DIES: Into the Blooms: Iris, Larger Than Life: Hello, Birthday Celebration Bling. OTHER: Pleasing Pineapple hot foil plate, White matte foil, Black twine. SUPPLIES That's a wrap for day two! Come back tomorrow for more good things! ~Wanda
Yeah. I bought those pens. The Zig Clean Color Watercolor ones or what have you. You know what I'm talking about. The blogosphere is a twitter. Everybody is buying them. And I'm such a joiner. Hey, we are all having fun, right? And it isn't like I'm out at the bar, throwing back the drinks, and picking up men. Nope...we all need our little luxuries in life. Mine is buying stamping stuff. I know you feel me on it. For now, I'm mostly just playing around. Because that is fun to do over coffee in the morning. But every now and again, a little something makes in onto a card. Here we have Papertrey Ink's Fancy That. I don't feel like I did this stamp set justice when it was first introduced. I'll remedy that here and in my next blog post. Those medallions are perfect for watercolors. I have it on the new Center Stage: Maculine Die cut out of the same water color paper and have that mounted on vellum. Quite lovely. And the sentiment? I need to send this to a sister or a friend. It's from It's a Banner Day. :) So, are you giving in?
Hi! I hope every one's weekend was fabulous!! I was really ready for the weekend, the week before was really hard for me. I learned that i did not make in into a Bachelor program at a somewhat local university. I am very disappointed to say the least! I'm not sure what i will be doing going forward. I will be talking to an advisor and am looking at a certificate program that i might do while i wait for year to go by when i can re-apply.... Its really up in the air right now and i still have a week and a day to go before the end of the semester. So enough of that depressing stuff, on to a card!!! I made this way back when and the card been sitting on my desk for awhile and the photos have been ready, figured today is good as any to share it with you!! At one time i had cut a row of butterflies out of white card stock, the butterflies went on one project and decided to keep the negatives to use down the road. I think i cut 6 butterflies, but i trimmed off 3 for my card. I covered the white card stock by adding a few colors of distress inks. Next i covered a piece of paper with some printed washi tape and then adhered the butterfly panel over it. I adhered this on a white card base. Then i die cut a tag, stamped and stamped the sentiment. I also found a gem that matched the ink i used and added it to my tag. The tag when on the card with foam dots! That's it today! Stop by tomorrow for my project for The Alley Way Stamps sneak peek!!! Dana Supplies Stamps: PTI - Wild Flower Garden Die: PTI - Butterflies, Reverse Confetti - Tag Me Washi Tape: Tim Holtz Ink: Distress Ink - Walnut Stain, Frayed Burlap, Tea Dye
Today's the day all the new PTI goodies will be released. YAY! Time to share the rest of my projects with you. Topiary Trio and Thank You Kindly: This one really came together with the use of BB: Wrought Iron. I'd imagine that any of the 1.75" stamps that we have (and we have a lot!) would work really well on this layout. Here I used one from Dawn's Thank You Kindly, heat embossed in gold on Classic Kraft cardstock. Phrase Play #5 and Journaling Card Borders: I wanted to show how you could expand the size of the journaling cards by adding the border dies. I thought creating a scene in the open circle was a fun a different way to use it. Supporting players are Flippin' Out, Nativity Silhouette Additions, and BB: Random Stripes. Birthday Classics: June: This is my favorite set...just because my birthday is July 4th! Maybe I should make a birthday card for myself:). LOL! I haven't found the "Happy 4th of July Birthday" sentiment anywhere else, so I've got to do it justice. I thought the shape of the main sentiment in this set would work well on Mat Stack 7. It's not a perfect fit, but one that definitely works. I used BB: Random Stripes again in Pure Poppy on Pure Poppy cardstock (tone on tone works great) on the Horizontal Stripes Cover Plate and really think it adds something special. No Strings Attached, Keep it Simple: Wedding and Seasonal Stitches: Seashells: For a beach wedding. There seems to be a lot of those. Love the random stripe background you can achieve with No Stings Attached. So easy because those string stamps are full sized to fit across both orientations of an A2 card. The sand dollar is cut out of Classic Kraft cardstock and stitched with crochet thread. Thank You Kindly: A little Copic action on colored cardstock really gives this card some personality. Leaves from Doodlie Do are given the same treatment. Friendly Flowers and Block Talk: Bright and cheery for summer. A little washi tape gives my Block Talk die cut some pizzazz. Cat's Meow, Stitched Rectangles, and No Strings Attached: That kitty sure is fun. I think she looks adorable cut out of patterned paper. Also wanted to try using No Strings Attached to make it look like string is threaded through the holes on the Stitched Rectangle Dies. Sweet. Speaking of kitties, I've had them on my mind lately. Thought I'd show you my latest addition. This is Hamweenie. (We named her after this book and although I lobbied to change it at the last minute despite picking it out in the first place, it has stuck like glue. Sort of just rolls off the tongue now.) She's been with us a little over a week now. Itty bitty little thing. Matt and I haven't gotten a new pet since before we were married. The kids have never had the experience. So although we had some reservations, she's quickly stolen our hearts and brought lots of laughter in our home. Frisky little thing. Thanks for stopping by and for all your lovely comments this week. They add fuel to the creative fire and that's a very good thing.:) More inspiration below. All these lovely products are available to purchase tonight at 10 PM EST at www.papertreyink.com. It's that time of month again--the July Papertrey Ink release! I have a few pieces to share with you here today, and a few more in my Papertrey Gallery as well. (All ink/cardstock details are listed in the gallery.) First up is a card made with the It's Official set. I'm not typically a collage-y card maker, but I had a great time with this one! It also uses the new Book Print Impression Plate in the background, as well as the Spiral Notebook page and Just the Ticket dies. I love the scored tear-lines on both of these! The Jar Tag and butterfly dies are from previous PTI releases. I've been wishing for a ticket stamp and die for a while now, so I was really glad to hear that Nichole and Betsy had collaborated to create just such a creature! Here I've used the new Admit One Impression...

Introducing the new Woodblock Prints stamps, papers and stencils by Papertrey Ink! These will be available at 10pm EST on June 15th! Let's get started. First is a card using the stamps. I created a diamond pattern with the pretty block stamp. After stamping, I die cut the center with the Center Style: Feminine die and popped it up. The little flower is from a new set called Graceful Greetings II, and the die cut is a new one called Big Basics: Love You die. Love You card: STAMPS: Woodblock Prints, Graceful Greetings II INK: Tropical Teal, Aqua Mist, Raspberry Fizz, Orange Zest, Green Parakeet PAPER: white, Stormy Seas, Pure Poppy DIES: Center Style: Feminine, Big Basics: Love You OTHER: none. ------ Next is a quick card using the pretty Woodblock Prints papers. I don't do simple all that well, but I thought I would keep this one simple and let the pretty patterns do the talking. :) The papers were cut into squares and then trimmed in half with scissors. I machine stitched over the top. The sentiment is from a new set called The Skinny. Sorry I missed Your Birthday card: STAMPS: The Skinny INK: New Leaf, Tropical Teal PAPER: Woodblock Prints, white cardstock DIES: square punch OTHER: enamel dot. ------ Last is a card with the Woodblock Stencils in the background. I stenciled over it with Lovely Lady and Melon Berry inks. The sentiment is stamped with Inspired: Grace. This one was extremely quick and simple to make! Amazing Grace card: STAMPS: Inspired: Grace INK: Pure Poppy, Lovely Lady, Melon Berry PAPER: Pale Peony DIES: none OTHER: none. ------ Don't forget to shop June 15th at 10pm EST at Papertrey Ink to get all of the new products we have been previewing this week! It's that time of the month when we start revealing products for this month's release at Ink to Paper which will go live on the 15th. This time it's all about the winter season! Today, we are introducing you to Winter Woodlands Stamp Set and Dies + Wood Chips Stamp Set and Dies + Deer to Me Stamp Set and dies + Border Bling: Believe dies. I wanted the archway of trees to resemble white birch after a new snow, so I white embossed on Soft Stone card stock. Instead of using the smaller tree and smaller arch of trees in the set, I opted for the larger tree from the previously released Take Your Place. It doesn't show up too well, but it's covered with Martha Stewart's snow glitter. I love that the Twinkle frame die makes for such a fun detail! The base panel was color blended with Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Wilted Violet distress oxide inks. STAMPS: Winter Woodlands, Take Your Place INK: Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Wilted Violet distress oxide inks; Bright Buttercup, Harvest Gold, New Leaf, Ocean Tides, True Black; Versamark PAPER: Stampers Select White, Soft Stone DIES: Winter Woodlands, Take Your Place, Border Bling: Twinkle OTHER: Martha Stewart snow glitter, White embossing powder, Clear Star Gelly Roll pen by Sakura My second card was inspired by an advertisement that we received in the mail from Ashley's Furniture store which showed reindeer decor in red plaid. I love the whimsical look it gives and, of course, I had to add some white splatters to the kraft border. The tiny florals are fun to arrange in all kinds of ways to accent your creation. STAMPS: Deer to Me INK: True Black, Simply Chartreuse, New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Pinefeather, Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet, Summer Sunrise PAPER: Pure Poppy, Classic Kraft; Metallic Gold; Christmas Plaid (patterned paper by Recollections) DIES: Border Bling: Believe, Deer to Me OTHER: Copic Opaque White The third card showcases the small Wood Chips stamp/die set. I'm giving you an early peek at the new Feathered Friends die that you'll see more of on another day. I consider this a masculine card with all the earthy, woodsy colors happening! I added lots of texture with the embossed tin stitch border, the burlap and the Woodwork dies. I thought the bird would look good perched on a pile or wall of wood chips, so that's the direction I took with the design. STAMPS: Wood Chips INK: Honey Nut, Cocoa Bean, Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening, Smokey Shadow PAPER: Rustic Cream, Honey Nut, Enchanted Evening, Classic Kraft; Metallic Gold DIES: Feathered Friends 6, Border Bling: Joy Frame, Border Bling: Twigs, Border Bling: Tin Stitch, Woodwork, Wood Chips OTHER: Burlap with paper backing SUPPLIES Be sure and come back tomorrow to see what is happening on reveal day #2! ~Wanda
It's Group Post Day #2 for the November Papertrey Ink release. And we are featuring a great set of get well sentiments today. An absolute must have. We are heading into cold and flu season and you know what means (besides the fact I need to get my flu shot and buy the economy sized box of Boogie Wipes for the kids ASAP)...it is inevitable that you and your loved ones are going to be down for the count for a day or two between now and spring time. Grrrrrr. I've been making it a personal goal lately to send more "get well" cards. They should be right up there with "thank you" and "happy birthday" missives being popped in the mail. And since you rarely have any warning as to when you need one, it's best to has a little cache of them already made up. So easy to do with Inside & Out Well Wishes. I've got two cards today that are joining the pile. As I mentioned yesterday, we're focusing a bit this month on pairing the new sets up with some of our old favorites. I busted out Home Made and On My Couch (these were released before I was on the design team...long time ago) to create this little scene. When I'm sick, I pretty much plant my butt on the couch and watch hours of television. It's really the only positive of the whole situation. I wanted to recreate that thought. To do so, I die cut the retro television from Polka Dot Parade #3 in Smokey Shadow cardstock. I wanted it to look like the back of the television, since it would be facing the couch, so I embossed a lined stamp from Grunge Me to look like the vents you find there. Here is the sentiment I used from Inside & Out Well Wishes. It's actually abbreviated from the full version. I did some masking to match up with my scene. It works really well as this two line message. If you would like to use the full message (Comfy pajamas, cozy bed, big soft pillow for your head. Worry not, the world can wait, take your time and recuperate) you can do that too. Isn't it just a lovely thought? And nice that you have two options with it. Notice the little cord on the television? I thought it added a realistic touch:). Just the edge of one of the light string stamps from Come All Ye Faithful Additions. Next up, I have this clever little number. This particular sentiment comes in two parts. There's the "Take What You Need" part which I have stamped on a Mat Stack 1 cut and stamped with the Mat Stack 1 Collection. And then there is the list of words that can be used along with it. The idea is that it can look like one of those flyers you find on bulletin boards. Usually you are ripping phone number contact information off. In this case, you take the words of encouragement. Clever, no? It prompted me to use Lemon Tart cardstock for the "flyer" (just like a notepad) and attach it to my card base with staples. Here's a close up. I ripped a few of the words off to give it some interest. And you can see Dawn's new BB: Needlepoint stamped in True Black on a Smokey Shadow card base behind. It is my understanding that these two sentiments are a perfect match for the Spiral Notebook Paper die. The width of the words matches up with the width of the die cut. I wanted to go a little wider, so I stamped the words one and a half times and then trimmed my panel. Again, just another look. I hope you love these sentiments as much as I do. I'm happy I can send out some love in the mail when people need it the most. This stamp set and all the other November products can be purchased tomorrow night at 10 PM at www.papertreyink.com. Welcome to Day 2 of the the Papertrey Ink June Release Countdown. Today I have cards showcasing the new Into the Blooms: Iris and a fun summer card. All the new products will be available for purchase on June 27th at 10 PM ET. I die cut the flowers from white cardstock and then blended Lilac Grace and Amethyst Allure Inks. I die cut the stems from Spring Moss Cardstock and then blended New Leaf and Simply Chartreuse Inks. I die cut the Cover Plate: Exquisite from white cardstock to add the background pattern. Since the I made a mini slim sized card I wrapped the edges of the die cut around the edges of white cardstock and glued the edges to the back of the card.
