Enjoy this unique and minimalist thank you note, to please any recipient of this card. The original design was created using watercolor pencils and ink, then prints were made. The inside of the card is blank to allow ample space for a friendly note. This card comes with an envelope so it is ready to go! I have always enjoyed spreading cheer with my handmade cards to family and friends, so I decided to start sharing my cards with others to do the same. Enjoy!
We've made it to the finish line for the November 2014 Papertrey Ink Release! Thanks for joining in the fun and excitement all week long. Before we wrap it up completely, I'm popping in here to share the rest of my projects with you. A Cheerful Heart: My use of the envelope and letter from Niblet Notes was entirely inspired by this particular sentiment in A Cheerful Heart. Tone on tone Copic coloring on the envelopes give them some dimension. The postage line stamp from Postmarks was stamped on the edges in Soft Stone Ink. Fair Isle Motifs and Birthday Classics December: Two tones of embossing powder brings out the wonderful details of the Fair Isle Motifs. Colors are very subtle otherwise, with the use of Ocean Tides, Smokey Shadow, Aqua Mist, and Pinefeather. Perfect to reflect for cool undertones that come with the winter season. Pom Pom Pals and Holiday Thank You: These two sets are a perfect match together! I added just bits and pieces of color against a largely white background. Don't feel like coloring in the whole image from Pom Pom Pals? The perfect solution is to just color a little. By coloring the background space around Rudolph grey, the almost all white reindeer really stands out. Instead of going with a pom pom, I used my Copics to color the nose. I added the Wink of Stella Pen and then a dome of Glossy Accents to give it that shine that you'd expect from this little guy. Mat Stack 7 Basics and Floral Flap Dies: These look so good together. All those angles really work to make a dynamic card with little effort. Happy New Year: It was fun to layer all these elements with Just Smile and Framed Out #3 frames. All stamping, no extra bling. Nice to do that every now and again. Keep It Simple: Happy New Years: The inside of the Happy New Year Card has the same sentiment stamped repeatedly in the same colors used on the front. Type Strips: There is a lot to love in the November release, but the Type Strips get my vote for most favorite. So very clever how they work. There are a ton of sentiments in the PTI collection that are multi-step. Use the Type Strips to add some color to one of the steps in those particular sets, like I did in a sentiment from Building Blocks. You can even change it up a bit. This sentiment is supposed to say, "A party without cake is just a meeting". I changed the "cake" to "cupcake" match my theme. Phrase Play #7: This particular phrase play really begs to be colored and blended with Copics. And that's a wrap! All these products and more will be available tonight at 10 PM EST at www.papertreyink.com. I used some of my triangles from die cutting the Simon Says Stamp Full Card Triangles Die for other cards, layered them, colored with Memento markers, and added a sentiment from the Flower Friend set to make this... Just randomly put the different sized triangles from top to bottom and tried to kind of fit them with the sentiment:)...THEN colored them with the markers...thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! We have had so much rain lately! Luckily, there’s been no flooding in my area, but the rain has brought a different kind of problem: termites. Apparently, rain prompts them to send out swarms in hopes of establishing new colonies. We suddenly began finding them all over the house the other night. Luckily, the worst seems to have passed, but the exterminator won’t be coming to check for another couple of days because they got so many calls and were backed up. Yikes! With all that rain, it felt li

Gosh, it seems like forever since I got to dig through my "card parts" box and make a card. I recently got a chance, though, and it was fun! I found this panel of five embossed flowers and wanted to use it. I wasn't sure how I even had done them, since they were closer together than the folder is wide, but yet they weren't "smooshed." I'm thinking that I used craft sticks (popsicle sticks) on top of the folder when I embossed, making sure to just put them over the flower itself. I embossed the lower layer with my Swiss Dots folder. The sentiment is from Papertrey's Birthday Basics set and the buttons are Elements from American Crafts. (EDITED TO ADD: The folder I am using today is one of the SMALL Cuttlebug folders. It is two by two and three-fourths inches.) Edited to add: The folder I used is one of a set of four by Cuttlebug. The set is called "Flowers." Follow this link to see what it looks like. Here is another card I made, so I could tell you exactly how I did it! I took some heavy duty cereal box cardboard (think Costco!) and cut four pieces, small enough to just cover the flower. I glued them together. I put them on top of the folder when I embossed. I use a BIGkick, and this is the "sandwich" that I used - the platform with Tab One and one clear plate. Just experiment with your machine until you get a combination that fits through your machine but is tight enough to emboss. The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions and the buttons are Stampin' Up! Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Here is another card using one of my new Memory Box dies. I simply used the die to cut out a portion of the panel. I added the sentiment (from Hero Arts), added some Perfect Plum cardstock under the die-cut part, and mounted on foam squares. Ta-da! :) Edited to add: The die I used is called Distressed Addington Collage from Memory Box. This is the entire die. There are four designs with the set. I ordered mine from Cropstop, but I don't see it on her website right now. (This link may or may not work: Distressed Addington Collage. If not, you can go to the Memory Box website and search for it. PS - I got two new Memory Box die sets for my birthday - this set and the Stitched Rectangles set. Both were purchased from Cropstop. They were both on sale.) Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Simon Says Stamp has just come out with a fantastic new release, Diecember®!! There are a number of very pretty flower dies, I'll call them the Bixby Collection, that are sweet, charming and very lovely!! I have made two cards with the first of the dies that I have had the chance to work with...the Bixby Border die... I embossed the die on a card panel, and then colored with my Prismacolor markers. I then die cut two more of the dies, and adhered them together and then to the colored, embossed panel. I added a die cut and layered Thanks, and added a gingham border on the bottom. Here's a close up... The second one is much like the first except using the die at a diagonal and adding a different Thanks.... I DID hand cut the embossed die cut and colored border, so I could add a polka dotted bottom panel. I colored the border of the "thanks" with the same marker I used for the leaves, so the colors would be coordinated. Here's a close up... Oh my...what fun...I LOVE flowers...and with such sweet, pretty flowers, I think the Bixby dies may be my favorites of this new release!! Have some more on my desk at this writing...hope to have more to share with you tomorrow!! Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
