She will have a displacement of 1300kg (2860lb), LOD 5m (16'8"), max beam 2.62m (8'9"). She will have removable inside trim ballast, either sandbags or scrap iron cast in concrete, depending how much space there is in the bilges. I started by drawing some lines

When we retired from full-time cruising and built a house on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, my wife Dee and I bought a thoroughly dilapidated 1966 Marshall 18 Sanderling catboat for exploring the Bay’s shallow waters. I downloaded Deftship last night and played around with it for a couple hours, working on a 20' catboat designed to be narrow enough to trailer, have decent performance without a huge rig, and be relaxing to sail, but not too relaxing. Displacement is 1.474 tons, so she'll be pretty quiet compared to a racing dinghy the same length, prismatic coeficient is .5473, beam at the deck is 8' 6" and beam on the waterline is 7' 5". What do you think?
