A brief history: The wonderful collector's posters of William Ellis Green OAM (12 August 1923 – 29 December 2008), who signed his cartoons "WEG", was an Australian editorial cartoonist and illustrator who drew the Australian Football League premiership posters from 1954 until his death. My father collected his beloved Hawks posters and many others. He ran a newsagency for 28yrs. The agents would only receive one or two posters to place out the front of their shop on Sat. evening after the game.
