Reader Q: What is on your Christmas list this year? I love making Christmas lists for my children, but I dread making them for myself. I feel like I have so much that I don’t really need anything. I know how fun it is to see other people’s holiday lists though because it can help […]
Christmas is all about love and family and one mum and dad in the US decided to add to their family and surprise their daughter’s by sharing their ‘new gift’ under their Christmas tree. Courtney Solstad went on Facebook to share how her family of five adopted Nathan and welcomed him to their family before Christmas. …
Hello and welcome to my blog, today I would like to share with you my first Christmas card of the year. It feels very strange to be making this in July, in the middle of Summer here in the UK, but it's never too early to make a start on your Christmas crafting. This card is simple and elegant and perfect for somebody special at Christmas. I would like to enter this card into the following challenges: The house that stamps built DCC JL120 ~ Christmas in July! - The house that stamps built Fezziwigs festive frolics challenge blog - Fezziwigs challenge 14 - anything festive goes ABC Christmas challenge - O is for over the top ABC Christmas challenge Please see below for all instructions and products used: Starting from the bottom I have a 5x7 white card blank then a pearlescent blue mat. I have taken a silver and white mat layer and using a snowflake background stamp from a magazine freebie, I have stamped all around the edges of both the silver and white card stock pieces in ranger clear perfect medium the heat embossed the image with a silver superfine embossing powder. With the silver piece I have run my glue pen all around the edge of the card stock and added some iridescent glitter and fixed all three panels onto the base of my card using wet glue. Next I have taken another piece of the silver pearlescent card stock and a piece of white card stock. With the white piece I have run this through my die cutting machine with a snowflake background die, again the die free from a magazine. With The Silver piece I have used a snowflake embossing folder and also run this through the die cutting machine, I have fixed the white die cut piece to the silver embossed panel and attached to the front of the card with wet glue. For the bauble, this die was also free from a magazine. I have used a piece of the same blue pearlescent cardstock as the background panels and cut out the outline shape of the bauble with my die cutting machine, next I have traced around the inside of the die onto white cardstock and hand cut the centre piece, I ran the white centre piece through my die cutting machine with another embossing folder. For the tag I have heat embossed the sentiment onto the blue cardstock with silver superfine embossing powder. I then attached the bauble on a slight angle with foam pads onto the front of my card. For the embellishments I have cut some snowflakes out with a die and attached to the bauble with some gems to the centre. I also added some gems to the centre of the snowflakes in the die cut background. And finally I have added a silver organza bow above the bauble and die cut a small poinsettia flower to cover the knot. Products used: Blue and silver pearlescent cardstock from Hobby house Wow - Superfine silver embossing powder Pearly background embossing folder from Chloe's creative cards Snowflake die, stamp and embossing folder all free gifts from magazines Poinsettia additions die set from Sue Wilson at Creative expressions Silver organza ribbon, gems and glitter all unbranded from Amazon UK Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog. If you like this card please feel free to follow or leave a comment, I will be posting frequent handmade card inspiration. Until next time, have a nice day.
Hi friends! Today's card features the Garden Wishes Bundle. This bundle is so versatile, it has dandelions, and leaves, and even a little bee! The card uses one of the pretty dandelion dies, and the envelope shows the gorgeous dandelion stamp. And behind it all is a sheet of the FREE Flower & Field Designer Series Paper. When I saw this sheet in the package, I was really attracted to the flowers. But as I started working with it I saw the white dots and the way they stand out and even sparkle! The die-cut dandelions just play on that

All of you Mad Men fans out there are probably familiar with the Clorox ad that was created for the show’s second season DVD. The ad features a lipstick mark on the collar of a Draper-style white shirt. The headline says Clorox has been "getting ad guys out of hot water for generations." Well, back in 1959 Connie Francis had a hit song about a guy who was in hot water because of a telltale lipstick stain... Here's adorable Connie and "Lipstick on Your Collar." Sorry the sound quality is occasionally spotty - but I thought you'd get a kick out of seeing Connie singing live. I haven't been running into very many men lately who have inspired me to leave my own lipstick mark. But a girl's gotta be prepared for that possibility down the road... I adore the vintage lipstick case I currently own (a $1 find at an estate sale) - mainly because it's so practical. The enamel decoration has a texture that makes it easy to find in an overstuffed purse. But it's definitely seen better days. I deserve something a bit more glamorous - don't you think? So, I did a bit of shopping on Etsy and eBay, and discovered a wonderful world of vintage lipsticks, cases and vanity holders. If money were no object, here are a few that I'd be drooling over. Which one is your favorite? My favorites: the Revlon Advertising Pin! Also the lineup of Revlon, Coty and Bishop lipstick tubes. Why? Because I can imagine an intriguing collection of vintage lipsticks displayed on a pretty shelf above my bedroom vanity - and at just $7.99 (opening bid) this would be a thrifty way to get started on the collection. But I'm not planning to bid - so grab it for yourself if you'd like! Enjoy your weekend! And don't forget - Valentine's Day is just around the corner... Make sure those luscious lips of yours are ready for a little action. :-) Trumpet Advance Lip Flexibilities - Etsy: AnotherWomansTreasur
