Hi everyone. I'm excited to announce the winner, top tags, and honourable mentions for the Twelve Tags of Christmas 2017. I'm so pleased that there were 120 entries this year. THANK YOU for sharing your beautiful works-of-art! Meet the Judge --- Jeremy with Vi About Judge Jeremy: He has a degree in Visual Arts and a Master of Arts Education. He teaches art classes at a Richmond high school. Here's a few words from Jeremy about this year's tag event. "It was a joy to review the tag designs this year -- I was blown away by the caliber of skills and abundance of creativity. With such a wide variety of techniques and styles, selecting the top tags was an especially challenging task this year. I carefully considered the parameters of the challenge (mixed media) and the building blocks of design (creativity, craftsmanship, composition, and colour) when choosing the winner, top tags, and honourable mentions." Winning Tag Robyn Congratulations Robyn!! Jeremy: "My pick for the winning design goes to Robyn. This tag shows a unique point of view and a willingness to take risks. The combination of the asymmetrical tag shape and the offset focal image is one of a kind. As well, the royal purple and yellow-gold colour combination and exquisite watercolouring highlight Robyn's advanced design sensibility. What a stunning creation!" Make sure to grab your Winner's badge. Top Tags (in order of entry#) Nancy #8 Marcia #85 Cathy #120 Congratulations Nancy, Marcia, and Cathy!! Hello, and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge! Thank you for joining us for the Let …
Hello Blogger Friends and a Happy Wednesday to you. I just realized today that our new Pre-School year starts in about 3 weeks. I have been off since the end of May but it certainly doesn't seem like it. Still not sure how the summer months went by so quickly. I received an email yesterday from QVC reminding me that Christmas is only 4 months away. Yikes, I would like to put the brake on time. If only that were possible (lol)!! Anyway, let's move to my post for today. Today is my DT post on the CottageCutz blog. I have made 2 tags so let's get started on my creative process this week. For the first tag I used the Winter Cabin Border and the Ornament Trio dies. To create this tag, I used the CottageCutz Rectangle Die-the largest one in the set. I then stamped the background snowflakes with Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder on pool party cardstock. I didn't want to have a square topped tag so here's what I did to make a pretty tag top. My rectangle base is 3" wide, so I needed a die wide enough to only cut the top of the tag. I ended up using the Spellbinders Labels 28 die. I placed the cardstock so the side edges are not on the cutting edge of the die. Now on to decorating the tag. I cut both the Winter Cabin Border die and a single ornament from the Ornament trio dies in white cardstock. To complete this tag I punched a hole at the top and ran my pool party ribbon through. I tied it with silver cording. I attached my ornament, added a pearl to finish the tag off. Now onto my 2nd tag. For this one I used the Merry Christmas Santa die. I cut my tag in red cardstock, found the patterned paper I wanted to use and cut my Santa image. I also used the Stitched Circle Dies and cut a circle with the 5th largest die to position Santa in the center of it. I added a little snow mound at the bottom of the circle for Santa to stand on. For the mound I used the sand from the seagull die. Just another way to get additional use out of your dies. I used glue and sprinkled some chunky glitter on the snow mound. I used the same chunky glitter and added it to Santa's hat, belt, arm cuffs and hat. Isn't he such a cute Santa image? To complete this tag, I stamped a sentiment on olive cardstock and cut it in a flag shape. I embossed the sentiment to make it stand out on the tag. Sentiment is from the MFT gift tag greetings set. I added white satin ribbon and tied it with Stampin'-Up real red striped ribbon. Thanks for staying with me through the entire post today. Hope I gave you some ideas for your own Christmas tags. Also, as a remind our our current challenge is going on for August. The theme is birthday and you can get more info here. Until next time.......God bless.

Whoo hoo! .... hello again Welcome to Day 11 of one of my favourite Blog events of the year. Yes ......Twelve Tags of Christmas with Loll & Friends is currently underway ....... When Loll invited me to be one of her Guest Designers again this year I immediately said Yes! It's always a pleasure to be part of this fun event ....... and you all know how much I love making tags! I'm loving Kraft card at the moment and I think it goes so well with white to give a real snowy look. I cut my tag and heat embossed in white, some pretty snowflakes onto the background ..... and then added some texture paste through the Tim Holtz Speckles stencil .... I love using this to create the look of falling snow. I sprinkled the texture paste with fine crystal glitter while the paste was still wet to add a touch of sparkle White ink around the edges, applied with a stencil brush, finishes off the snowy sky. I die cut some white card stock with the CUTplorations Stitched Snow Hills dies and layered the pieces onto the bottom of the tag, stamping and heat embossing the sentiment in gold I finished off the tag by adding a beautiful die cut snowflake .... cut from white card and glitter card, layering them together to add dimension ...... isn't it pretty! I think it's a Memory Box snowflake but I'm not sure ..... I haven't got the packaging!! A simple white pearl in the middle adds the final touch. I hope you're enjoying the Tag event as much as I am. There's been some amazing tags created by Loll and her Guests over the last 10 days and it's not over yet. There's still time to play along ....... just create a mixed media Christmas tag, any size, any style, which includes rubber stamping, plus two mixed media elements ..... that can be mixed media products or techniques. Go on ...... join in the fun! Thanks for popping by ..... enjoy the rest of your day. I've been busy prepping a workshop today for the weekend ..... we're going to be playing around with Galaxy Backgrounds ....... it could be a messy one! Cheerio until next time ........
Hi there! How's your week so far? So far so good here. Hoping the week speeds right by and the weekend gets here quick. It's Timeless Tuesday time and Amanda is our hostess this week. She's challenging us to make an altered Christmas project (a gift, a treat item, a decoration, a banner, etc.). I decided to make a gift tag: I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment from Trimmed With Love onto kraft CS with Versafine onyx black ink and then sponged some white craft ink around it (something I saw my friend Dawn Easton do and I just had to try it...makes it look snowy, huh?). The moss green seam binding, kraft jute string, classic ivory CS (scallop border and snowflake) and the Echo Park This and That DP are all from the Flourishes store. Be sure to stop by the Timeless Tuesday blog for all the details of the challenge and, of course, you can find even more inspiration by hopping around to see what the rest of the FTTC girls have created for you.... Woohoo! It's time for another TAGplorations Challenge! This month's theme is WINTER and the optional twist is: TEXTURE PASTE! Here's my tag I started with the largest Manila Tags Die cut from MDF board and applied some pieces of cardboard. I then applied a layer of Gesso. Once dry, I applied Prima Platinum Crackle Texture Paste in random areas and let it air dry so I could get the crackle effect. I then used Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays in browns and blues to add some color to my background. Then I added the Snowman I created using different sized circles cut from scrap papers in my stash. I used Vintage Photo Distress Crayon on the edges for some highlights and dimension. I created his arms from the TH Bird Branch Die and tied the Sentiment (TH Christmas Word Bands) with twine. I finished with the Uppercase Alpha in the bottom as that's my wish...for Peace. And some Paper Smooches Stars Die cuts finished off my tag. I sure hope you join us for this fun challenge and I can't wait to see your WINTER INSPIRED tags! Don't forget you can use code STAMPGIRLAMY to save 20% in the STAMPlorations online shop. :o)

I was so honored when Loll of Stamping with Loll, asked me to be a Guest Designer for her Twelve Tags of Christmas Challenge. It was a great excuse to order these tag dies that I'd had my eye on. I really went for the shine! Since Loll asked us to use mixed media on our tags, I had an excuse to order this wonderful stencil too. So I've stamped, heat embossed, stenciled, die cut, punched and then added bling for extra dimension and texture. * For this event, Mixed Media is defined as stamps + ink, plus two other elements which add texture and/or dimension. The inspiration tags by the designers will be showcased from the 4th-15th of November and the linky will remain open until the 22nd November so it gives you plenty of time to enter. Here is a list of prizes! Winner - $40 gift certificate from STAMPlorations Top Three - $20 gift certificate each from STAMPlorations Random Draw - $20 gift certificate from Happy Little Stampers Random Draw - One Christmas stamp set from Dee's Artsy Impressions I'm going to join in at Poppystamps Challenge #14 HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS and Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge and Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media Challenge Thanks for the visit. The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019 - Day 1 Altenew I was inspired by Tracey' tag! Hi there! My goal is to play as often as I can with Tracey's : 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I have to admit I'm never quite sure where to link up properly ..... I am reading the direction this time, lol! I love this set from Altenew but never bought the dies so I fussy cut and watercolored with Zig pens and shimmer pens. I also love this oldie but goodie tag die from Papertrey Ink. All linked below. I hope your 4th of July was a lot of fun! For us, it started off with a yummy breakfast at Cracker Barrel, and a lazy day around the house. We did sparklers for the first time with my kids, and after the initial few seconds of fear, they were a lot of fun! I'm excited that the "Christmas
Hi everyone, hope the week is going well for you, mine took a lovely turn yesterday when I found that my Cabinet Cards from a couple of weeks ago had been featured by Tim Holtz on his blogworth holiday links post, very excited needless to say :D but what I really wanted to say is a big thank you to all who left such lovely comments on that post, they were very much appreciated. So today I'm back with tag 4 for the Funkie Junkie 12 tags of Christmas 2012 which is kindly hosted by Linda and her Funkie Junkie Boutique. There's still time to join in although Linda has posted all twelve tags now she's kindly allowed until the 17th December for them all to be posted to her blog. I loved Linda's tag for week 4 and took inspiration from the colours, chose a similar layout and elements but different to suit the things I had on hand. I chose an Artistic Stamper large gingham check stamp for the background and inked it with gathered twigs distress ink and I really like how it looks so I'll be using it again. My tag is cut with the Tim Holtz Tag and bookplate die from Ranger card and I embossed red card same as Linda but I used Core'dinations kraft core with a small star embossing folder by Craft Creations. The music stamp is Tim Holtz, the 24 numbers and the heart Tim Holtz movers and shakers dies and the little poinsettia cut from kraft glassine is a Magnolia DooHickey die. The holly leaves are a Woodware punch with green bazzil card and the heart was cut from recycled corrugated card. I added pearls, a metal sentiment embellishment, gingham ribbon and a rusty bell tied with twine to finish off. This is one of my favourites of the tags so far, I'm really enjoying making them and will be back soon with tag 5. Enjoy your day.

Stefi

Ok - so every year I hear of Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas 'thing' but for some reason I never checked it out or realized that he created a new tag each day on his blog for people to be inspired by. I've also sort of NOT been into the whole grunge, over the top decorating of things as is Tim's style. But....... over the past couple of years I've been experimenting with Tim's style on and off - and on the way - gathering more and more Tim Holtz/Ranger 'supplies'. SO - having seen a tag on my blogging friend, Susan's, blog where she linked to Tim's challenges - I got inspired to give the 12 Tags of Christmas a try! Day 1 Tag - You really need to go to Tim's Blog to see his sample - but here is my inspired tag. I used a lot of his ideas but with the supplies that I had in my craft room. I used his tattered flower die instead of his pine cone and I used some of his grunge board flourishes instead of the floral pieces. My Noel letters are Thickers that were already blue and sparkly! Day 2 Tag - You can see Tim's tag here. And below is mine. I didn't have a deer die - so I used a Sizzix Snowman, cutting the hat and scarf piece out of felt and adding 2 brads for his eyes. . I used a lot of Dazzling Diamonds on this tag so it looks pretty snowy IRL! So now I have to go check out Tim's blog for Day 3! If you join in - remember to link your creations to the proper day's tag posting - there will be prizes to win - and you have until 12/31 to get them all done - check out all the details on Tim's Blog. Tag Day 1: Paper: Coredinations Distress Collection - Tumbled Glass & Shabby Shutters, Hawaiian Shore - PTI Ink: Ranger Distress Ink - Iced Spruce, Evergreen Branch, Embossing Ink. Accessories: Floral spray - wedding section/Michaels, snowflake embossing folder - Provo Craft, wrinkled seam tape - Prairie Bird Boutique Etsy Shop, Tim Holtz Ideology grungeboard elements - Flourishes, Thickers Glitter Letters - American Crafts, Regal Crest & Tattered florals Sizzix Alterations dies, white embossing powder, hot gun, shimmer brad - Making Memories, Liquid Pearls - white opal, Dazzling diamonds - SU. Tag Day 2: Paper: Rustic Cream - PTI, DP music paper Provo Craft, Coredinations Distress collection - Bruxhed corduroy, Ranger Claudine Helmuth canvas. Ink: Ranger Distress Tea Dye, Iced Spruce, Embossing Ink.Accessories: wreath - Michaels, brads - Imaginesce, felt - Michaels, Sizzix Snowman die, pine tree punch - EK Success, Scallop punch -SU, dazzling diamonds - SU, gingham ribbons and bell - Michaels, marichino twine - the Twinery, thick foam tape.

Happy Tuesday ....... I hope your week's got off to a good start. It's going to be a fun one here because ......... it's time for this year's 12 Tags of Christmas with Loll & Friends .... whoo hoo!!! Christmas is coming ..... Ho! Ho! Ho! I love playing along with this event ........ you know how I love my tags!! Not sure if I'll manage to keep up with all 12 days but ..... let's give it a go. I made a good start on a batch of Christmas cards at the weekend ..... let's see how we do with the tags! Day 1 ...... let's start with something CAS. Classic black and white with a hint of festive red ....... love this combination. I've used my all time favourite snowman ..... this little guy is just so cute! Not sure if he's still available to buy, he's been with me for ever! He's from Inkadinkadoo and it's a wood mounted stamp ........ so no MISTI!!! I stamped him onto my tag using the black Versafine Clair ink, and then I ran the tag through my embossing machine using the Softly Falling EF from Stampin Up! I coloured his hat and scarf with a ZIG Marker and added a touch of sparkle with some crystal glitter A simple sentiment on the bottom and that's Tag number 1 done! Sadly it's the final year for this event ....... sigh! So, if you haven't joined in the fun yet, do it now, it's your last chance! Thanks for popping by ..... enjoy the rest of your day. I'm off now to start packing. We're off to the UK for a few days on Friday ...... and we're on the boat!! The weather's not looking good so a trip into town for some travel sickness pills is high on the To Do list!! Cheerio until next time .....
Hello and welcome I am Karen Farquhar from Australia and thank you for joining me today for Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge #054. Today's challenge is a Die Cutting challenge. Well die cutting isn't really a challenge for me as I die cut on most of my work. I just love die cutting so my challenge was to do something I thought would be a little different. For this reason I have designed some shaker gift tags using the Snow Scenes Dies, the Frosted Frames Dies, the the Stitched Rectangle Dies and the Delightful Tag Topper Punch. To make these I cut 2 pieces of Whisper White Cardstock for each tag at 5cm width and then punched their tops with the Tag Topper Punch. I then ran my 2 strips of cardstock through my die cutting machine using a Stitched Rectangle Die. I sandwiched two pieces of Window Sheet together with my Snow Scenes images, Ice Stampin' Glitter and Snowflake Sequins in-between and then adhered all layers together using Tear and Tape along the edges. A tie of the gorgeous Seaside Spray 1/4" Metallic Ribbon completes the tag. I have also created a boy and girl Baby's First Christmas card set with the Still Scenes Bundle but substituted the the rocking teddy from the Hoot Hoot Hooray Stamp Set. I sponged a piece of Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper with Blushing Bride for girls and Balmy Blue for boys ink to give me a blue and pink background. The teddy bears are coloured with blends. Thank you for visiting me today. Please, you are more than welcome to enter your projects for the Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges here. We really would love to see your creations. Note we need your projects submitted by 10am. (UK time) Sunday. Also pop over for a visit to see the projects of other talented stampers. Hi Stampers, The other day I looked through my collection of specialty papers and ribbon. Seems my collection has grown a bit over the past few months! It was time to stop collecting, and start using! So… I decided to make some gift tags! And here they are! I used the GIVING GIFTS DIES (Mini Catalog) to create the images on the tags. Here is a look at the dies: GIVING GIFTS DIES I used the TAILOR MADE TAGS DIES (Annual Catalog) to create the tag shapes. Here are those dies: TAILOR MADE TAGS DIES Here are the dies I used from each set: The GIVING GIFTS DIES I used do not cut the edges of a paper to form a border. They cut a window with an outlined shape. See photo below: TAG HOW TO & MEASUREMENTS *To make a tag use two pieces of cardstock; one for the image, and a neutral color, such as Basic White, to mat the image piece. * For all the large tags I used two pieces of cardstock cut at 4” x 2” and for all the smaller tags I used two pieces of cardstock cut at 3” x 1 1/2”. * The ribbon, cord, or twine for all tags is cut at 7”. * Stamp To/From on the back side of the tag if you wish. *To die cut the image part of the tag place the tag shaped die on the cardstock. Place the image die inside the tag die. Run this through the die cut machine. * Next, place the tag shaped die on the “neutral” cardstock, and run this through the die cut machine. * You now have the two pieces that make up the tag. Adhere these together. I use the multipurpose glue for this. * Here is the tag. All it needs is a bit of stamping on the back side (to/from), and a bit of ribbon. *A NOTE ABOUT THE SANTA DIE & THE MOON/STARS DIE * To make a tag with these two dies follow the same steps for a tag as explained above, just add the moon & stars die. * When you die cut the Santa & Moon & Stars images this is what you will have. * For the tag follow the same process explained earlier, the adhere the moon and stars to the background piece of the tag. HELP! I DON’T HAVE THE TAILOR MADE TAGS DIES! You don’t have the Tailor Made Tags Dies? No problem! You can still make tags with the GIVING GIFT DIES. Below are two other tag options: USE A TAG TOPPER PUNCH To make the tags with a tag topper punch (Fancy Tag Topper & Delightful Tag Topper Punches are featured in the Annual Catalog) cut two pieces of cardstock the same dimensions as listed above. Place each piece of cardstock in the punch and punch the shape for the tag top. Place the GIVING GIFTS Die on top of the piece of cardstock you want on top of the tag, and run through the die cut machine. Adhere the two pieces together, and add ribbon. USE PIECES OF CARDSTOCK TO CREATE THE TAG Cut the cardstock following the dimensions listed above. Place the GIVING GIFTS DIE centered on the piece of cardstock you want to be the topside of the tag. Run it through the die cut machine. Adhere this to the other piece of cardstock. Use a hole punch to make a hole in the top of the tag. Hello Everyone, I thought about getting this Winter Woods Bundle set longtime ago but I wasn’t really sure to get it because I have so many Christmas stamp sets already. Finally, I decided to get this one because I didn’t have winter tree set. (This is how I convinced myself to buy new stamp set
5 tags for Papertrey Ink's October Blog Hop. Tag 1: Tag 2: Tag 3: Tag 4: Tag 5 (see the bike tag to the far right): Is it okay to say that there is no individual pic of the bike tag because it came out too blurry and I was too lazy to take another? Well, either way, it's the truth :)
I love Christmas! I wish I had more time to make Christmas crafts throughout the year! That needs to be my New Year's Resolution!! Start making Christmas stuff EARLY!! Well, this year, I hosted my Christmas paper crafting class early! All of my friends that came got to make this cool tag. Tags are so much fun and can spice up any old wrapping paper or plain bag. I think this sweet and simple tag could use some glitter or bling, but I didn't want to distract from the swirls, the ornament stamp and the fun little sprouts of ribbon. Join us this week and TAG us!! :) Hand Stamped Sentiments is THE place to be for tagging this week! Happy Stamping! Krista
