Stingray Hideaway at the Newport Aquarium is now one of my favorite things about this aquarium! It is such a cool space to hang out with stingrays! You can stand over the pool and pet the sting rays, or go under the pool through a tunnel and up through a tube to watch the stingrays up close. We were sad to hear that the otters have relocated to other aquariums, but it was exciting to see what the aquarium did with the space that formerly housed my son Sam’s favorite sea critter. My kids could have stayed in this room longer than any other section of the aquarium…they loved the velvety feel of the stingrays, and the rays were not shy at all, they almost seemed to want the attention of the kids! Stingray Hideaway is a great way to get up close with the stingrays, so make sure you visit them next time you are at the Newport Aquarium! Union Terminal stands on a prominent location one mile northwest of the city center. Visitors approach the 10-story, arched, limestone and glass facade of the building from the east through a quarter-mile plaza. The dome is flanked on either side by curving wings. An illuminated fountain, cascade and pool lie in the foreground center. On either side of the main doors, Maxfield Keck's bas-relief figures symbolize Commerce and Transportation. In the late 1980s, the building was renovated and then reopened as Cincinnati Museum Center in 1990. It was recently named one of the top 50 architecturally significant buildings in America by the American Institute of Architects. "
