Lita Cabellut was born in Barcelona, into a Sinti family and lived on the streets until the age of 12 when she was adopted by a prominent family. She was introduced to her masters in the Prado: Velazquez, Goya and Frans Hals and became deeply affected by art.
About Kent Williams’ work melds the rigor of technical prowess with the iconoclast’s impulse to disrupt. Juxtaposing beautifully rendered classical forms with elements of abstraction and surrealism, Williams coaxes a sense of cohesion from essential contradictions. Although a virtuosic draftsman, he is concerned less with fidelity to the form than to the feeling. The result is an astonishing amalgamation of the sensual and the technical. Working in tactile surfaces and palpable brushstrokes, Williams doesn’t attempt to conceal the seams that form when joining contradictory concepts; carnal and cosmic, order and chaos, the sacred and the profane. Rather he allows us to witness the violence that occurs when two bodies collide and the beauty that can so often follow. Entanglement was commissioned as the cover art for the Criterion Collection DVD of "Women in Love".
Genre painting, painting of scenes from everyday life, of ordinary people in work or recreation, depicted in a generally realistic manner. Genre art contrasts with that of landscape, portraiture, still life, religious themes, historic events, or any kind of traditionally idealized subject matter. Intimate scenes from daily life are almost invariably the subject of genre painting. The elimination of imaginative content and of idealization focuses attention upon the shrewd observation of types, costumes, and settings.

Yes, this article we are going to be talking about the art of finger painting. For the record it is not just for small children who indulge in this art by dipping their hands in paint and putting it on a paper or canvas. This style of painting needs more skill than you would think and this becomes more obvious when you look at the examples of finger painting that we have given here. It is completely different from painting on glass objects, a fascinating art project.

"Diana and Actaeon (Diana Surprised at Her Bath)," by Camille Corot (1836) DIMENSIONS • 9" x 12" (Image: 7.5" x 10.5") • 12" x 16" (Image: 10" x 14") • 16" x 20" (Image: 12.19" x 17") • 20" x 24" (Image: 14.31" x 20") • 24" x 30" (Image: 17.88" x 25") Archival Inkjet on Fine Art Paper Smooth Surface - Matte Finish - Inset Borders ABOUT THE ARTWORK ----------------------------- Camille Corot entered his profession as landscape painting was undergoing a revival. The genre had been roughly divided into two camps: Northern European realists who faithfully reproduced real settings and populated them with modern peasants, and Southern Neoclassicists who placed ancient, mythological, or religious figures in idealized landscapes. Corot drew freely from both, as in this representation of the story of Diana and Actaeon, set amid a French forest. As described in Ovid's "Metamorphosis," Actaeon was an unfortunate young hunter who stumbled upon the goddess Diana at her bath. As her nymphs hurried to cover her, she splashed water on Actaeon, transforming him into a stag. Fleeing the scene, he was chased and killed by his own dogs. Mixing Neoclassicism and Realism in this way, Corot annoyed contemporary critics, who held art to rigid and often arbitrary standards. "If M. Corot would kill, once and for all, the nymphs of his woods and replace them with peasants," said one, "I should like him beyond measure." ART-CENTRIC DESIGN ----------------------------- Vintage art is not standardized. The original works are usually too long, or too short, to neatly fill a store-bought frame. Most shops arbitrarily crop the artwork to match, leading to claustrophobic prints with missing or partial elements. These modifications — sometimes trivial, sometimes ludicrous — are not always shown in the product photos. We believe that the purpose of art is not to fill a frame; it is the purpose of a frame to showcase the art. Our prints have inset borders that make up any differences in proportion between the artwork and a standard frame, so that you can experience the art as the artist intended. They look sharp in beveled mats, may be float mounted, or inserted directly into standard frames; the borders providing a mat-like accent around the image. There are many styles from which to choose. Framing is a fun, creative process that enhances the artwork and livens your space for years to come. Should you like any advice, feel free to reach out. CUSTOMIZATION AND IMAGE REQUESTS ----------------------------- We are happy to customize our prints to fit your frame. Borderless prints may require the artwork to be cropped to fit a new aspect ratio. In such cases, we will provide a mockup to ensure that the final product meets with your approval. If you’re looking for an artwork that is not in our catalog, feel free to ask if we can provide it. We will print any public domain or openly licensed image that is available in high resolution. MUSEUM QUALITY ----------------------------- Giclée process prints are the gold standard in fine art reproduction. We use a matte finish, cotton fiber paper to maximize detail while eliminating glare. Our prints display a wide color gamut, deep blacks and beautiful tonal transitions. Produced using only archival materials, they will not fade or yellow, but maintain their original quality for as long as you own them. HANDMADE DECLARATION ----------------------------- To assure artistic quality, all of our production and design is strictly in-house. Every print has been proofed, calibrated and inspected for defects. We do not drop ship, resell or make use of third-party production partners. SHIPPING AND PACKAGING ----------------------------- All orders ship within one business day via USPS First Class, Priority Mail or Priority Mail Express. Sizes 9” x 12” and 12” x 16” ship in a flat configuration, unless combined with larger prints, which require tubes. We will replace any lost or damaged items at no expense to you. If you are unhappy with your print for any reason, you are welcome to return it for a full refund.
