Mark McNairy, 20-year veteran of the menswear scene, is the most-name-dropped-by-cool-guys-I-know designer ever. Guys I know who work in fashion, guys who love good, well-made stuff (i.e. clothes, shoes, and accessories), and guys who are big-time editors at big-time magazines are all big fans of McNairy—and starting this fall women will finally get some McNairy of our very own.

Streets of Soho It seems only moments ago that we watched the final model vanish from the runway of September Fashion Week last year, and yet the fashion crowd has descended once again onto the streets of Soho for another season of #LFW. Last season was predominantly beauty focused for me, I was invited backstage to some of the top shows to get a first glimpse of the beauty and hair trends (you can watch my vlogs here) while this season I have a perfect mix of fashion and beauty events and shows to cover. Friday started in the most fabulous way, with a breakfast with Esteé Lauder at the restaurant within the Sky Garden – overlooking the capital while enjoying smashed avocado & poached eggs (OK so I’m really late to the game on this one, I’m now addicted!) and gossiping as we fuelled up on Cappuccinos before a busy day. A dash through town and it was the Kurt Geiger blogger event next, where we chose some fancy footwear to rock during the upcoming days. From Covent Garden to Fitzrovia for an appointment at DryBy to discover which Nexxus hair range would be best for my newly coloured locks – a few clicks of the iPad revealed that I needed the Emergency range, which was soon massaged in and washed out, before a bouncy blow dry and fresh manicure left me feeling like a totally new woman! My next port-of-call was The Apartment – the infamous blogger hangout – where I caught up with the girls and recharged my batteries (literally and metaphorically) and dined on the food delivered to us by Take Eat Easy. And finally, it was time to dash off for my first show of the season, I made my way to the incredible Langham Ballroom, and took my front row (OMG!) seat for the DAKS show. As a guest of L’Oreal Professional I kept a close watch of the model’s hair – a sleek spiralled side bun, set into place with a high gloss hold. You can catch all of this and more on my Vlog coming your way on Wednesday! WHAT I WORE While LFW may be an opportunity to pull together your most flamboyant #ootd, a hectic schedule meant that for day one of London Fashion Week I opted for a casual, yet feminine and very ‘me’ look. While my linen culottes and pink high neck jumper are very much my every day uniform, I dressed up this look with some fabulous accessories, including my nude Valentinos and Faye-esque handbag. Rose Gold details (no surprise there!) completed the look, from my Quay Sunglasses and new Caravelle Watch, to the more intricate bracelet and earrings by Carat London. Unlike the stunning arches of Somerset House, the streets of Soho are somewhat less photogenic for capturing our outfits, but thanks to the guys at COMB, I managed to capture my look for the first day of Fashion Week. Acting as official blogger photographers at The Apartment, COMB is not only helping us capture our looks, but also making them shoppable. Their app let’s you upload a snap of your favourite look – whether from Pinterest, your camera roll or even your Instagram feed, and shop visually similar items from their database of millions of products. Definitely one to download during LFW and beyond!
