Pretty vase of flowers - with a historic twist! Pre-matted for an 11 x 14 standard frame. Comprised of Antique US postage stamps, the piece represents a salute to US History: The vase - showcases the 'Boston Tea Party' and the US Bicentennial Four flowers - each represent an important piece of US heritage: - Abigail Adams - Landing of the Pilgrims - Signing of the US Constitution - Liberty flag of 1776 Flower stems and leaves - feature the US Frigate Constitution, and honour Iwo Jima. Stamps from around the world and postage marks from the USA were used to create this acoustic guitar. All of the stamps are from my husbands boyhood stamp collection. The 8x10 guitar is printed on heavy card stock.

Collagraphy is a print-making process where various materials are glued to a hardboard to create a raised texture. The collaged collagraph plate can then be printed with a press or by hand with a roller. About The Artwork One of two collages made from an assortment of French printed ephemera of which all pieces and scraps are between half a full century old and in this example range from parts of handwritten or typed letters, postage and fiscal stamps, post-war food coupons, insurance notes and even an unusual customs declaration for a shipment of rice from Madagascar to Algeria.
