Colors and looks that can only be achieved, with a ballpoint pen. Swiss Artist Alberto Russo is an Illustrator and Drawing Teacher. The following are the medium he specialises in: "I teach traditional techniques (pencil drawing, charcoal, colored pencils, ballpoint pen, acrylic paint) as well as digital painting (painting on computer using a graphic tablet and a stylus )." The scribble drawing style is a fascinating one; the first impression is one of a randomness, that doesn't really focus on detailing. When you look at it up-close, you can appreciate there really is order in chaos. Those scribbles that seemed to be so erratic, now appear to be providing a specific and planned function. These wild lines are there to add texture and are forced into a sequence that highlights the features of the portrait in question. Have a look at the drawings and see if my words ring true to you. Color Strands in Scribble Drawings
scribble, watercolor, repeat
As I entered into this past weekend, I was feeling tired and overwhelmed from the previous week. I decided to spend a little time doing some scribble drawings for relaxation. Scribble drawings are a popular technique in art therapy and can be used in different ways. I will plan to address some other approaches and …
Super Easy Scribble Creatures - grab your marker and paper.
Here's a fun book for the summer holidays combining two very different but equally enjoyable activities (at least to me)—the loose freedom of scribbling and the calm concentration of coloring. I started with sheet of used copy paper with writing on one side. I made a continuous line scribble on the side without the writing that covered the entire paper. I folded it into a hot dog booklet and then colored in the shapes made by the scribble. For the front and back cover, I used marker. On one of the inside spreads, I used colored pencils. For another I used two sizes of black and white marker and drew lines and shapes. For the other I filled them in with letters. This would be a great activity for travel. Make a few scribble books and then take markers or pencils for coloring in on the road. Written Directions for Hot Dog Booklet In Spanish See all the pages on flickr GIVEAWAY! Line drawings in Scribble Portraits
They say that visual arts like drawing, painting and even sculpting starts with the drawing of a line. What if the line itself became the entire art? For those who do not really know what this is all about, the idea may seem both absurd and maybe a bit simplistic, but only until they try their hand at line drawing art. You will know exactly what we mean when you look at the best examples of line drawing art that we have shown here. You just have to take a peek at extraordinary line and wire sculptures to realize how appealing and charming they can be. The thing is that though lines are the basis or the foundation of art, or because they are the foundation, they feature in a lot of art forms.
Artist Adam Riches uses pen and ink to create frenetic portraits of brooding anonymous figures. The monochrome illustrations emerge out of blank backgrounds, with broad, gestural lines skittering and looping across the paper. Often, pen drawings fall into two stylistic categories: contour drawings that capture the outlines and edges of their subject, or super-smooth ones that seem to defy the fine point of the pen with layered hatch marks. In forging his own style, Riches uses highly varied density in his mark-making to create volume and suggest shadows, while also utilizing each line as a distinctive shape. More
Liz Y Ahmet is a UK-based, self-taught artist who creates portraits of women from hundreds of scribbled lines. What looks chaotic and even a little bit messy at first glance, with the talented hands and creative mind of this contemporary artist, emerges into perfectly detailed, expressive, and dynamic portraits. It's amazing how looping and scattered lines we used to draw as children can convey such strong emotions.
