"In my works I aim to convey my feelings onto a digital artwork with colours and shapes. I like to experiment and explore with open, relatable and positive themes and to create a feeling of exploration, openness and creativity. My inspiration often comes from music – a certain way it makes me feel, or words and quotes from anywhere. I think the colours and shapes I use are a good way to evoke a feeling from the viewer. My end goal is to make the viewer feel what I feel, and hopefully they will be affected in a positive way, feel creative and explorative."

2020 Topic 2: A Hint of Spring Hi everyone, Keren here. This topic is a chance to explore some of the new PaperArtsy Paint colours recently added to the Fresco Paint collection. Think soft greens, mauves and pinks, or maybe Seth's colours of subtle blue, cream and green which are also reminiscent of Spring, yet still offer that cosy, relaxing vibe of calm. Jo Firth-Young does pastels so well, and this is a perfect example. Jo Firth Young Leandra's tutorial on brayered backgrounds (this is part 2) utilises lots of delicious pastels. Pastels don't have to mean boring nor lack of depth. PaperArtsy Lets take a look at some palette options that might steer you in the direction we are heading. First up, some greens with neutrals. It's tempting to add a pop of colour to bring dynamism into your artistic endeavours, but these next two images show just how restful and beautiful pastels with a good neutral added in, can be. Ballard Designs TrendLand Starting to add in more greys and blue undertones takes the palette in a different direction. If you add in a warm tone of yellow, look where you end up..it brings a vivacity but still rocks the pastel palette. Dots To Lines How about greens and pinks? The peachy tones help the pinks from being too sickly sweet and the almost mossy green helps balance the combination and provide an almost neutral colour. Sarah K Wisombe Who doesn't love a mason jar? These beauties are a wonderful receptacle for the very best that springtime affords us! Home Made Lovely How about green and mauve? This stunner of a card shows the value of adding in metallics to pastel schemes. It can be pared back and sparingly used to bring warmth and bounce a little light off your art. Anna Griffin We all use paper on a regular basis, but this example is a wonderful updated version of quilling and plays around with colour in a clever way. Yulia Brodskaya Here's another image with a similar scheme. The shine from the glazed ceramic hearts combined with the raised texture is sublime. Dottery Pottery If we add blues into the purple-y combo, we have a gentle, relaxed scheme. You can almost smell the lavender! Phoebe Dreams Continuing with the cooler lavenders, we transition into the greyer blue purple tones. Source Toleshack If we really dial up the greys, the colour scheme becomes very subdued, elegant and gentle. Shari Carroll You can see all these options so far plus more on Leandra's pinterest page here to get you started in this pastel zone. You may not be ready, but pastel shade are going to be quite big in 2020. Not so wishy washy, but cleaner, greener, crisp shades of pastel. Before we head into these more summery tones, let's softly warm into it with a softer version of the palette. Scrap Art By Lady E Let's look at some images of brighter, slightly bolder pastels. Source This lively water-coloured panel uses colour blending to great effect. Pastel perfection! Source Hopefully there's one set of pastel colours that has piqued your interest. From the cool and subtle to the brighter summery ones, there's so much to choose from. Do explore the new colours of Fresco Acrylic paints to see the plethora of pastel possibilities. An A4 size screen-print entitled 'Magic Donkey No.3'. This is one of a continuing series of prints that I have made focussed on donkeys and their adventures in a strange and abstracted place. This print featured a magic donkey, perhaps a strange donkey dream, and lots of helping hands. What is happening? Only the donkeys know... The prints started as a way to celebrate donkeys, as I feel they are somewhat undervalued in art and society, and as time has gone on the compositions have become more and more surreal! Blue and red System 3 inks on Antique White Seawhite 280gsm acid-free paper. From an edition of 17, signed, stamped, titled and numbered. The print image measures H15.5xW15.5cm. The paper measures H29.7xW21cm. Printed by myself at Hunk Print, Sheffield, UK. Each one is slightly different, as is the nature with screen-prints. It has companion prints entitled 'Magic Donkey No.1' and 'Magic Donkey No.2' found at: https://folksy.com/items/7596485-Magic-Donkey-No-1-A3-2-colour-screen-print https://folksy.com/items/7596490-Magic-Donkey-No-2-A3-2-colour-screen-print All prints will be posted securely in a sturdy card-backed envelope and sent by first-class post (UK) or Airmail (rest of the world). Immerse yourself in the geometric splendour of the Scottish Highlands with this captivating print inspired by the charming Portree Harbour on the Isle of Skye. Through a symphony of vivid colours and angular shapes, the essence of Cubism is beautifully distilled onto the canvas, offering a fresh lens through which to view the classic coastal scenery. In this print, traditional fishing boats are reimagined with dynamic, angular sails, painted in rich shades of fiery orange and red, contrasting with the calming blues of the tranquil waters. The reflection of the colourful vessels upon the mirrored surface of the harbour adds a sense of movement and depth, inviting the viewer to dive deeper into the painting's fragmented world. The quaint houses, set in the backdrop, are an array of pastel hues, from ochre to sky blue, and the historic architecture is simplified into block-like forms, reminiscent of the cubist masters that once revolutionised visual art. As the soft-edged buildings nestle under the protective embrace of rolling hills, shadows and highlights play across their facades in a mosaic of light and dark, capturing the interplay between natural and man-made beauty. This contemporary portrayal of the historic Portree Harbour serves as a stunning homage to Scotland's rugged beauty, encapsulating the spirit of both land and sea through the bold reimagining of cubist aesthetics. Whether you harbour a love for modern art or a longing for the Scottish shores, this print is an intriguing addition to any collection and a constant invitation to view the world from a transformative angle.

A beautiful modern art print from the Paper Collective collection. Crafted by handpicked creatives, curated in Copenhagen, made in Denmark. Located between the cooler mountains and suffocating desert heat of Monterrey in the north of Mexico, the studio of Berenice Hernandez takes inspiration from her surroundings to produce artwork with vibrancy and colour. With a background in art direction and graphic design, she combines her knowledge with subjects taken from her Mexican heritage. Botany contributes the focus of her work, brought to life through a mix of illustration, engraving, painting and textile techniques. The result is abstracted, bold plants and flowers, presented with a graphic touch. Want to add a frame? Immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the Scottish Highlands with our evocative print. This serene composition captures the essence of Portree Harbour, Isle of Skye, rendered in bold and sweeping expanses of colour that reflect the Color Field style's influence. The artwork invites you to experience the harbour's calm waters, with reflections casting a meditative ripple across the print. The selection of hues is intrinsic to the piece's mood, crafting a picturesque scene where the vibrancy of life and the steadiness of nature coalesce. Vivid pastel facades line the quayside, a tapestry of yellow, orange, pink, and blue fronts portrayed with minimalistic detail, promoting a sense of harmony and simplicity. A collective of boats peacefully moored in the foreground serve as focal points, their reds and blues echoed in the water’s glassy surface, and ushering a silent narrative of maritime charm. The restrained use of lines and the emphasis on flat, planar regions of colour work to encapsulate the viewer in the artwork's embrace. Drawing inspiration from the unspoiled beauty of one of Scotland's renowned locales, this print is a celebration of stillness, colour, and minimalist beauty. The 'Scottish Harbours' collection is proud to include this enchanting scene, offering a breath of Highland air to any space. Whether adorning a home office or bringing a calming influence to a bustling living area, this piece will be the harbinger of contemplative allure and aesthetic pleasure.

Immerse yourself in a whimsical portrayal of Loch Feochan, a serene gem nestled in the heart of Argyll and Bute, artfully captured in the height of summer. This captivating print, reminiscent of Naive Art's unpretentious charm, envelopes the viewer in a dreamscape awash with vibrant hues and joyful simplicity. The composition bathes in the glow of a seemingly endless summer day, with the sun casting a kaleidoscope of vivid colours across the landscape. Rolling hills in shades of cobalt and emerald rise gently on the horizon, silently guarding the tranquil waters of the loch. The foreground is adorned with a tapestry of rich, sun-kissed yellows and greens, illuminating the undulating fields and inviting the eye to dance across the painting. Reflections shimmer on the water's surface, mirroring the clear skies adorned with carefree strokes of white, capturing the lightness of a breezy summer afternoon. A copse of trees stands as a testament to life on the loch's edge, their rounded canopies a striking contrast to the fluidity of the surrounding waters.
