Use these simple muffin tin activities to come up with new ways to teach your toddlers & preschoolers. Using household items your child can learn new skills
I got this deviled eggs tray from party city this morning for $2. I painted the bottom of each egg a different color. Then I got my container of odd buttons that I have in my craft room and found 5 buttons of each color (well, I need 1 more dark green and 2 more orange that'll I'll buy next time I'm at the craft store). I tried to put the colors in order so it'd look like the color wheel so you could use it for those activities later on, but I was doing it off the top of my head quick and I know the brown isn't in the right place. But thought I'd mention it so someone else could do it in the right order, LOL. My 3 year old can't wait for the paint to dry so she can get sorting!

Black-and-white photos are especially fascinating. For some reason, they often seem deeper and more striking than the colour ones. Perhaps it’s because they don’t try to distract us with bright colours, but rather cut straight to the chase.
Activities using Venn diagrams to help kids develop advanced sorting and categorizing skills.
Hi Friends! Over the 3 day weekend, I made some time to create a color sorting activity. Using the beloved Google Images, I found pictures of both cartoon and real objects for the kids to sort. I made them all into flashcards for you to download and use with your students! There are 90 cards, 10 pictures for each color. The colors included are yellow, orange, blue, green, red, brown, black, purple, and pink. (After creating them, I realized it would have been helpful to add "white" objects for sorting. Check back later for those!) There are numerous ways to use these cards: Receptive ID (identification) - "touch the red car" or "which one is the yellow banana?" Expressive ID - "what is this?" "what color is this?" Matching - print two sets of each card Feature Function Class - have the kids identify items by FFC (ex. "which one do you eat?") Sort by Category - food, color, clothes, etc Get creative and have the kids match the cards to buckets with a color card on the outside of each one or have the kids find the cards in a scavenger hunt game around the classroom, etc. I hope you enjoy! These moments from history deserve a closer look...and nothing brings out the true life of these moments in time than color. So we hand picked a collection of once black and whites, now in vibrant color. Warning, these rarely seen photos are not suitable for all audiences. While these gorgeous colorized photos of the past are definitely a must-see, not all of the stories are fit for consumption, so proceed with caution. Black and white definitely didn't do these photos justice...
This resource provides practice in saying, sorting, spelling and writing words containing "ough". ! PLEASE NOTE: This resource was written in Australia, and pronunciations are correct for Australian and UK English. American English pronunciations may differ, and the resource is not recommended for students who use American pronunciations. 30 different "ough" words are included, and the set can be used in numerous ways. For example, words may be cut out and sorted by students into groups of same sounds. Students could mark words of the same sound in the list with coloured highlighters, one for each sound. Words may also be copied from the list into the table of headings which relate to the 6 different sounds of "ough". The list may also be used for Look-Say-Cover-Write-Check, and for spelling tests. The resource includes both colour and black-and-white word lists, answer sheet for sorting words by sound, and a blank page for writing dictionary meanings. In this series, I have also made resources for the "eigh" words, "augh" words, and "or" sound words too: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/EIGH-Words-Sorting-Them-Out-Middle-Primary-Phonics-and-Spelling-Resource-2828379 https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/AUGH-Words-Sorting-Them-Out-Middle-Primary-Phonics-and-Spelling-Resource-2828088 https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Words-with-the-OR-Sound-Middle-Primary-Phonics-and-Spelling-Resource-2843020
There's nothing hidden in your head this sorting quiz can't see.
The famous "tug of war" between the two. They are called-upon, when it comes to making difficult decision, involving emotions. German Artist Evelyn Maria Lorenz names her work "a heART project". We have all been in that situation when a part of us tells us to do one thing and another, the opposite. In this scenario, the heart represents a more compassionate approach, whilst the brain usually plays a more stern and analytical part. It fascinates me how we have the need to give differing thoughts in our mind, a physical manifestation; to be able to examine opposing points of view, or feelings towards something, or someone. The brain and the heart are one famous example; the other couple are: the angel and the demon. They are imagined as sitting on either shoulder of the person struggling with a dilemma and whispering their suggestions in their ear. Us humans, really are an odd lot. Enjoy the start to a new week and these ink, black and white drawings (I gave them some titles). Take care. Ps. I gave the images some titles. "Historically inhabiting the kingdom of the Rus, ranging from parts of modern-day Slavic-speaking countries, this example of Ruthenian traditional dress consisted of a shirt and underskirt made from linen that was embroidered with traditional floral based patterns. The sleeveless jacket is constructed from panels of sheepskin." – Dynamichrome
Kolmanskop - this room is very blue and accentuated by the daylight © www.markdanielphoto.com Sometimes the image demands a more detailed look, a hint of the light source perhaps, maybe the shadows that play in the sand, the view into the other room? The mystery is sometimes what can not be seen but only guessed at and why we find such mystery in this beauty that was made by nature, not by man. - Mark Daniel

My paintings invite the viewer to experience new and emergent spaces. They explore relational space and the idea that while having no positive existence of its own, space allows everything else to exist. They are full of bright colors, circles and swirls that illustrate a perpetually changing environment. They can be best described as exploding optimism and are unabashedly happy. At this point, I want to experiment with new palettes, add more spontaneous elements, work larger, and learn more about different conceptions of space.
Romanian-born artist Adela Andea creates futuristic light installations that range from wall-based works to immersive environments. The pieces appears as lit explosions, with LED lights, magnifying lenses, and flex neon springing outwards in a blend of chaos and control. Despite their composition of electrified material, each work is inspired by a natural phenomena. Andea looks to bioluminescent sea life, melting icebergs, and cosmological events to shape the composition and meaning of her large-scale installations. More
