Ctmh cards
Another week, another sketch challenge! The angular frames threw me a bit as I had no die cuts, but then I came across this PML Card that reminded my of the sketch look and so I figured I can get my Christmas cards for 2023 started early! I used some old Kraft spotted paper to stamp and fussy cut the reindeer from this month's Stamp of the Month, Frosty Days, and added a red nose and a cute green scarf that was also paper pieced. I also couldn't find my scallop die cut so I improvised with two layers of another shape in red glitter and an old paper that i inked around the edges for more contrast. I then added some more red glitter shapes and stamped the sentiment below. Thanks for stopping by today!

This hop is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Wahoo!! Here we go! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There are 5 Workshop kits that CTMH will be creating during this TWO-Day event. I chose to use the "Sending Hugs Cardmaking Workshop" for my creation today. Close To My Heart has created a BEAUTIFUL set of 20 cards, that we'll be creating on April 30th! I had a bit of leftover paper, and so I decided to create 2 additional cards using our BRAND NEW, Make It From Your Heart - volume 5 --- How To Book. If you have read any of my other blog posts, it won't take you long to realize how MUCH I adore using our How-To Books! They save me so much TIME & Thinking...and I love to pull out these books to grab a sketch to use for a scrapbooking page, or card I'm creating. Let's take a look at today's set of cards ---both cards use Pattern #21 in the Volume 5 edition. 😊 Did you notice?? Both of these cards are from the SAME PATTERN design!! 😉 That's one of the GREAT perks in our How-to-books. You don't have to keep it the pattern the same direction, but it's fun to CHANGE it up & get a totally different look!💗 Let's take a look at the first card.... This Koala bear is OH so CUTE!! I colored her in, by using the Watercolor paints that CTMH will use on their card designs too! Take a look at the dotted lines that I stamped around the square....isn't it amazing what an extra touch like that can do? Did you KNOW?? That this stamp set can ONLY be purchased as part of this bundle? Let's take a look at that stamp set before moving to my next card design. Which stamp image is YOUR favorite?? Let's take a look at the second card. (it's turned a quarter turn for a NEW card design!) This Zebra is pretty CUTE too! I added some of the flower images from the set to "accent" her & those JULEP sequins that are INCLUDED in the workshop kit...are the PERFECT color for these "Lovely" papers! Here's a closer look --- One of the FUN things I did on this card, was to create my own border strip. By using the single flower & the dashed line...I was able to add an extra touch! The flowers were colored with pink watercolor paint. 😉 I hope you enjoyed my card creations & that you were INSPIRED today!! :) Now it's time to "Hop" on over to Wendy's Blog to see her beautiful creation! --------------------------------------------------------------- Be sure to visit ALL the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! We LOVE to hear any feedback you’d like to share as well, so feel free to take a moment & leave a comment. Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here if you need a consultant :)) so that you can get in on the FUN and create so many BEAUTIFUL projects in honor of National Scrapbooking Day! Blessings to you for a WONDERFUL day!!! Krista

Hello, best customers on the planet! I have some news to share with you today. It’s kind of big, and I want you hear it straight from the horse’s mouth (I would be the horse. J ). Close To My Heart contacted me recently and offered me the full-time job of Manager of the Art Studio at the Home Office. This means I will supervise, and sometimes create, all of the art that you see in the catalogs, CTMH advertising, on our blog and website, etc. I was taken by surprise, but after talking with Dan and weighing all of the pros and cons, I knew that accepting this position was the right thing for my family and me. I am so very honored and excited to serve CTMH in this way. After being a Consultant and Executive Director with the company for almost 25 years, I love this company with all my heart! That said, with this new position, I will no longer be a CTMH Consultant. What this means for you is the following: · You can purchase from my website for the next few days, and then my site will be going down. https://leavealegacy.closetomyheart.com · I am MORE than happy to recommend a consultant to you for the future. Please call or email me ([email protected], 801.360.9896) and let me know what you are looking for. Are you looking for a local consultant who does classes and things you can attend, or are you looking for someone who is a long-term consultant with a website you can purchase from? I’m more than happy to help you find the right person for you! · My Facebook Business Page will be going down by August 31. You are more than welcome to friend me on Facebook personally, if we aren’t friends already (Karen Overstreet Pedersen). · My Instagram Account will go from business to personal, but if you follow me, you will still be following me. · I am not sure what I will do with my blog. I may keep it up and still share my personal artwork there. We’ll see… I want you all to know what a privilege it has been to serve as your CTMH Consultant for all of this time. 24 ½ years is a long time to be with a company. I have joked many times that I will die with a CTMH shirt on and a stamp in my hand (lol). Little did I know that even in this new capacity, that will be true! I want to thank you all for enriching my life, for making my job as Executive Director such a pleasure, for touching me in so many ways, for being part of my family and allowing me to be part of yours. Please continue to stay in touch with me! Feel free to call, email or private message me with any questions you may have after reading this letter (801.360.9896, [email protected]). YOU are “Close To My Heart.”

I am heading out on another road trip today, this time I will be picking up my sister in Grande Prairie, AB, and then together we will be heading to go visit my niece and her little family in Calgary, AB. Calgary is about a 10 hour drive from where I live. But before I leave, I have a few minutes to spare, so I want to start sharing the layouts that we got to create at Convention this year, using all new Close To My Heart products. This is a sneak peek as to a little of what is coming out in the new Annual Inspirations Idea Book which goes live on August 1st. So today, I will start with the first layout we worked on. Be sure to check back, as I will be sharing more Convention layouts over the next week or so... Happy creating! :)

I used the Zoo Babies stamp set to create a little boy birthday card to share with you today. My card design was inspired by Retrosketches #105 and my colors were inspired by The Paper Players #186. I started by stamping the animal images from the Zoo Babies stamp set (wood mount and clear mount)…
