Curious George: the mischievous monkey with his antics we remember fondly from our own childhoods…I love the opportunity of introducing or enhancing classic children’s books. The classics allow ALL students to participate in our literary culture, no matter how young your students are. The concept of character is the topic for this lesson plan and activity. Included is your Activator, Mini Lesson, Activity, Wrap Up, overarching ELA Common Core standard, as well as links for Extension Activities (you, of course, will need to merely click on these, print, photocopy, and more Curious George at your disposal!). Students will LOVE the original activity on characters with a rubric for students to understand your expectations for their final creation. And, you will love your lesson plan for the activity prepped and perfected and ready for your submission. Enjoy and best, Rockermom
Self-taught Italian illustrator Andrea Ucini draws scenes which reveal hidden plot lines, adding a conceptual twist to his minimalistic imagery. Within Ucini’s illustrations one can sneak a peek behind the veil of a shadow or streetlamp, uncovering another world or just a curious rodent. In addition to working as an illustrator, Ucini also composes music and plays several instruments, a pastime that he sites as a strong influence for his illustrations which have been included in Wired, Scientific America, Entrepreneur Magazine, and more. I think this turned out great. It was a lot of fun to create the mysterious road through a forest and ends at a castle rising off the cliffs. I love that the cat is leading the way, always the curious animal! This 6x9 or 11x17 Archival art print is beautifully printed from our own inkjet printer on a matte card stock paper, hand cut and packaged in clear plastic sleeve with backing board and shipped in a rigid mailer.
