❓What do you think about foam rollers? Let’s talk about the myths about foam rolling. • 👉It doesn’t actually break up fascia. 👉It doesn’t increase flexibility long-term. Truth: • ⭐The tactile sense of the foam roller can help your muscles relax. If your muscles feel better, go for it. • ⭐Foam rolling helps increase blood flow to the muscles while flushing away debris and by-products. ⭐Foam rolling increases short term flexibility and mobility. Note:⚠️Foam rolling shouldn’t be the only thing you do for a warmup. While it can increase blood flow, it doesn’t actively prepare the muscles for full-bodied movement. Bottom line … If it feels good, continue using your foam roller. But if you don’t enjoy it and get benefits from foam rolling, there’s no need to do it. 🎉Get
"My Teacher Says Series … part 2 I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, “Pull up,” in dance class. ❓But what does the teacher mean? The teacher means that the core is not properly engaged and something is “off” with the torso alignment. Focusing only on sucking in the gut won’t engage the core properly, which is what most dancers end up doing. ADD THIS PHRASE - Engage the upper back. Pulling up leads to holding the breath, hunching the back, displaced ribs, and a lack of mobility. • Instead of saying pull up, dancers need to know that the core must be engaged WHILE attention must be given to the upper back. Now you’ll see results. 💯Facts - this is a clear example of why and how understanding the anatomy will yield great progress and growth with your students. 🎉A properl
