About The Artwork The idea for the collection "Giardino del Duca" prints was born one day while listening to David Fray's beautiful performance of a Schubert lieder in Franz Liszt's fabulous piano transcription (Liszt. 12 Lieder von Schubert, S558 / R243: No . 3. "Du bist die Ruh". David Fray) In these moving chords, I could smell the scent of the ancient roses from my dear friend Michele's garden and I saw his magnificent borzoi called Duca moving among the flowering plants with the grace only a sighthound can have…. And here! Liszt gave his interpretation of him to Schubert's songs by creating masterpieces of classical music: he took away the singing, but added his unsurpassed pianism. Why can't I also interpret the beauty of Michele's Garden using what I know how to do: photograph dogs? Indeed, a dog, THE DOG: Duke. Just as Liszt during his life transcribed about 50 of Schubert's songs, so too Michele and I begin to interpret the beauty of Duke and his Garden. I don't know if we'll get to 50 photographic portraits too, but in the meantime, here are the first ones. Of course, the "soundtrack" cannot be missing, so this time I have associated with each photograph the lieder transcribed by Liszt in my favorite performances. You can find the Playlist in my Spotify account. It is called the "Garden of the Duke". Good vision and listening! I propose this photo in the Limited Edition of 30 pieces 40x50 cm (glossy photo paper) Original Created:2022 Subjects:Dogs Materials:Paper Styles:FigurativePortraitureFine Art Mediums:DigitalColor Details & Dimensions Photography:Digital on Paper Artist Produced Limited Edition of:30 Size:15.7 W x 19.7 H x 0 D in Frame:Not Framed Ready to Hang:No Packaging:Ships Rolled in a Tube Shipping & Returns Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments. About The Artwork My whole artistic life is based on three fundamental things for me: love for dogs, for the history of art (in particular, portraits) and for music. In this very particular period I'm experiencing all my senses are "sharpening" even more…. I feel even more attachment to my dogs because their love is one of the few certainties I have left. The music I've been listening to all my life… it too is starting to sound different, much more incisive and meaningful…. The portrait? The only thing I really want to do is where I can best express myself. And here it's: the collection of 20 photographic portraits I took of my adorable whippet Rubelia during the 3 most poignant years of my life (between 2020 and 2022). I called this collection “Greyhound, Music, Portrait. Variations on the theme. " In fact, there is a theme: the DOG (Rubelia). Then there are 19 variations: looks, shots, accessories that change giving a different "sound" to my love. In short, the variations from one portrait to another, exactly as happens in variations on a musical theme. To each portrait I have also associated music which in my opinion will give a more complete vision to my idea of this photo, since there is nothing I create without listening (or feeling inside me) a certain piece of music. Also because I think the gaze of a dog (the main thing in my photographic portrait) is like music: you cannot describe it with words, you can only “feel” it. This photo is printed on pictorial canvas (30x40cm). Try to observe it by listening to Bach. Prelude and Fugue in E Minor, BWV 855 in the unique performance by Víkingur Ólafsson. I propose this print with beautiful very elaborate handcrafted frame in silver color. Rehoming a dog is never something any owner plans for their furbaby, but it, unfortunately, happens all too often. Taking the proper steps to find a suitable rehome or a shelter that can foster and care for your companion takes a lot of courage, but it may be what’s best for your pet.
